I'm really just trying to help, I can stand seeing theocracy ruining lives around the world just because people are certain of their specific SECT of each religion, which often goes to something Martin Luther scathingly referred to as: "What have I done? There are now as many religions as there are heads! In other words this is the ticket to religious freedom." Voltaire also says that one of the Huguenots were discriminated against and that one family was blamed for a suicide and they were all put to death. Scary thing religious intolerance, I say it should go on the ash-heap of History the way George H. W. Bush tore down the Berlin wall.

The 'offended' woman disregards the fact that she is in Judeo - Christian America making her declarations of independence which would not be tolerated in most muslim countries.
I find it interesting how so many people don't believe that a conversation on theology can even BE rational. Let's debate the points at hand instead of getting caught at each other's throats at only the surface level of analysis (i.e. religion vs science). Dennis, as a Western woman, I respectfully disagree that a woman in a mini-skirt is less outrageous than a woman in a veil. They are part and parcel of the same thing. Women receive messages from a very young age to expose themselves. You see preschool girls twerking. It is important to note that Surah 2:256, (there is no compulsion in Islam) was abrogated when Mahomet called to fight the people of the Book. (Surah 9:29). This is noted in the Islamic sources and Tasfir. We need to be aware that many of the so-called peaceful (Meccan) verses were later abrogated by more violent and confrontational verses (Medinan).

Mr Prager correctly identifies the obstacle within Islam that prevents reformation. He then opines that Islam can change and that, if it does it will be to through the efforts of American Muslims. Unfortunately Prager does not identify why Islam is entirely incapable of reformation. Here's why: Muhammad repeatedly insisted that he was NOT the author of the Qur'an. He declared that Allah was the Quran's author and that he had only taken dictation. That this was accomplished in a series of visits by the archangel Gabriel, who transmitted to Muhammad, Allah's words to be written down. In support of this claim, Muhammad declared that he was then and was now, illiterate and that Allah had miraculously enabled him to write down his words. Therein lies the immovable obstacle, fallible mankind is literally incapable of revising infallible Allah's words. So to revise the Qur'an implicitly requires that Muhammad's claim that Allah is the author of the Qur'an be rejected. In which case, Muhammad was either a liar or delusional. In either case, Islam's theological foundations utterly collapse.
The Muslim man makes some good points. But he is not using statistics but rather individual examples to create the impression of moral equivalence. Bill Warner uses statistics on Islam to characterize the religion in overall terms. And it is just as easy to argue for moral differences too. The current case of Oct 7 and the brutal attack on Israel and its civilians by Hamas tends to suggest moral differences are important. And perhaps we should see that the Nazis were not committing the Holocaust because of religious conviction, as they rejected Christianity. But the jihadis today quote their scriptures to just if their atrocities. In short the Muslim man is more an apologist than a scholar objectively summarizing the character of Islam as a movement in the world across time.

I suppose that the 50 Muslim countries were mainly converted by missionaries carrying hand puppets in their rucksack alongside with the scriptures. They got the idea from their holy books. It reminds me of Tom Lehrer and his song The Folksong Army. They all just converted people by preaching and entertaining converts. Sola Scriptura **IS** the answer, and so is eisegeses. We aren't generally advocates of by politicized Sharia, but we do argue with traditionalists all the time. We've got very modern attitudes but we're generally very socially Conservative as well as against the general notion of evil, which we must ban, and good, we must mandate. It's true that these things should be enacted on by a consular government, a form of government as effective and moral as democracy, and much more in line with modern Muslim thought (which is based on the idea of shura, but in a religiously neutral way). I do, however consider God to be the only God, no matter the language or ritual, and Muhammad is His prophet.

When it comes to the hijab, the veil, and for that matter, the burqa, it is irrelevant which people of the world started it. There have been veils worn by women for thousands of years. These things are borrowed and become a tradition in certain religions. Symbolic fasting does not originate in Islam but it has become a part of Islamic culture in Ramadan.

Is there compulsion in Islam?: Yes (apostasy, etc) Is there freedom of speech in Islam?: No (blasphemy laws, etc) Is everyone equal under the law in Islam?: No (dhimmitude, jizya, etc) Is there an open edict to wage war against non-Muslims: Yes. “Religion” and belief are two different things. Using a belief system in a political way in order to oppress people or for personal gain is religion. Belief is abiding to what your belief system preaches and staying faithful to that belief. The inquisition was religion , Radical Islam is religion and on it goes. In the crusades when the Christians took over they literally would kill everyone. Spain is proof of how intolerant Christians were. And most recently Germany is proof of how Jews and minorities were dealt with. The tolerance of Christians especially in Europe only recently has improved. Otherwise, Denis needs to get his head checked. In the US, the natives have largely been exterminated along with their culture. The blacks only got equal rights 6 years ago. This here allows sex slaves of pre pubescents, advocates for killing of both women and children. This is all from the King James version of the Bible.

I just wish the people that sit down to talk or ask about Islam at least read a decent translation of the quran, instead of mixing things and passing them for verses. And if they are going to comment on Muslim history then at least, for God's sake, read from trusted sources, and bring your sources for the claims you make. About apostasy (because I didn't see Salam addressing this point), NO-WHERE in the quran there's talk about punishment for apostasy. The source for the Muslims (not all of us) that say that the punishment for apostasy is death comes from a narration (NOT a verse from the quran) about a person that basically committed treason (which btw in the US is punishable by death) and used religion simply to gather intel and then left Islam to share the gathered intel with the pagans in order to fight and exterminate the Muslims. That's the context in which that punishment was prescribed. Are there Muslims nowadays that believe that, in theory, this is the punishment for anyone leaving Islam? Honestly yes. Do they believe in applying it nowadays? NO. Maximum, and I'm talking about the more extreme opinion, they would tell you to simply keep it to yourself and not to advertise it.
The attempt to create moral equivalence between Israelis and Hamas is stretching things a bit. What does this Salam think of October 7. Is Hamas morally equivalent to the IDF? Is Hamas just nationalism or secularism? I would guess it is not.
Any person religion that use violence to spread its faith and any people not tolerating other people's religion, should be condemned. Many members of Jewish, Christian and Islam are guilty of committing violence in the name of religion. Do not cherry pick facts. I am a Catholic, well Christian but I am aware of the sins committed by leaders of Catholic and Christian faith supposedly in the name of "God". I believe in God but the established religions are making me sick.
When Jesus Christ returns to take up the crown of David from Jerusalem the Arab world will acknowledge Him as the Messiah. Islam will collapse as the false religion it is. When you hear something against what you always hear about Islam from a Muslim the answer isn't always taqqiya it might actually be a lie for whatever reason as you claim it may be actually true and you're just fixated on some wrong delusion that this thing is like that in Islam while it isn't or it might be that the person you're talking to is a heretic and doesn't believe in certain aspects in Islam. Like for example some people deny Sharia and that is apostasy from Islam but they still claim to be muslim and may tell you that Islam means peace and love and flowers and rainbows and doesn't have war, he lied about Islam but it's cause he's a heretic infidel and didn't lie cause he is hiding something from you he did cause he believed what he said.
