I don't like the idea of PR because it monopolises parliament for political parties, I want the elections to become more local as we vote for a person to represent our community in parliament rather than a country wide organisation.

They are polling 18%, so the result may differ, but equally there is a reason for it. Firstly, many people respond to polls, but never vote, so you may find next week that each party does not get the percentage suggested. The other is that we elect the person not the party to represent us. Hence, 2% of every constituency in the country might vote for the communist or Nazi party, but these will never has representation in parliament. Our MP is sent to parliament to speak on our behalf. They align with a party for electoral support and collectively can then form groups to run the country or act as opposition. Regardless of party, they are the representative for their town and around 50% of an MP's work is helping local contituents. If they lose the whip (Lee Anderson) or give it up on say a matter key to their area, they remain an MP. Equally, their area can recall when they do not perform. With most PR systems, the party selects the candidate. The friends of the leader are therefore guaranteed seats and not really electorally accountable. If someone falls out with the party, they lose their seat and the leader appoints someone else. Typically, they have very large areas, which are too big to canvas, so one might never see their MP on their doorstep. And, as with the EU elections, you might have 5 MPs representing your entire county with none especially concerned for you. Conversely, they might be excellent, but lose their seat if the party does poorly nationally. While not perfect, it is less worse that the other options. Reform's strategy has not to work tactically and go for all seats. Hence, they might have 18 areas that love them with 90% of the vote, but nationally have only say 5% of support with the locals preferring another party.

Rhere local elections affect local issues and those are separate to the general election. Scrapping first past the post with proportional representation would actually end tactical voting ans actually give smaller parties and independents a chance. As well as giving equal weight to everyone's vote. 1 area with 2 million people are 1 mp yet another area with 200,000 also 1 MP. Is it fair that 1 vote isn't equal?

How do you come to that conclusion? Opinion polls and recent by election results hardly bear that out. If you only look at pro Reform media, you may well think that Reform has far more support than is the reality. If you look at Left Wing bias media you will see a massive amount of anti Reform comments . I am not suggesting you should necessarily agree with them, but it would give you a more balanced view of the reality.
