DISCLAIMER: Due to the ongoing political situation in IRL Texas, particularly in regards to LGBTQ+ and abortion rights, I want to take the opportunity with this Texas-centric video to 1) Condemn the anti-trans statements made and actions taken by the Texas government in recent times and the generally anti-choice direction of their politics, and 2) Give some promotion to various organizations aiming to help LGBTQ+ people and aid with abortion. You know what's better than selecting and playing as the USA in Victoria 2? Selecting and playing as Texas, spending 50 years in-game gradually annihilating the US, reforming the USA and then playing as them. Trust me it's gonna be great.

Wouldn't it be possible to get the UK to release Canada in Ontario to avoid some of the containment wars?

Possibly, although I would probably need to make them release all Canadian cores then and not just Ontario, since I would end up bordering Canada in more than one place, and that would require a full 100% warscore on the UK which could be a bit rough to come by. But maybe would've been worth it if it stopped the containment wars.

Your expertise on this game is too damn high ! I play this game since his release and it easily reaches the 4000+ hours. But I am discovering that Vanilla Victoria 2 has a great potential for challenges. I love doing crazy/exploity runs in solo games, I think it's time to go back to ol' Vicky 2 for some raw fun. (And I 100% agree with your Disclaimer, fuck that shit !)

I had actually been doing some attempts at an India speedrun before this, but I haven't succeeded yet. The India speedrun is pretty tough, yeah, but I stopped doing attempts for it mostly because I got a bit bored with it so I wanted to do something else for a bit. I'll probably return to complete it soon though!

Tried this multiple times, i found it helps to keep bringing usa in war to fight mexico so you can keep taking states and usa wont scale as well and they lose soldier pops Havent been able to complete yet so id love to ssee ur attempt

I found that getting the US to help you in one early war against Mexico is worth it, but ultimately you'll wanna start fighting the US yourself as early as possible so I think it's better to just pop over to Asia for a quick power boost and then come back and start beating up the Americans. But there are probably several ways you can go about this and still be successful.

What do you think about westernizing Sokoto and participating in the Scramble for Africa? I managed to westernize Sokoto in 1868 and colonize a bit, but it was purely luck.

Should be doable, you have a bit of a slow start since Sokoto doesn't start with any westernization progress, but they're relatively strong for an unciv so once you have your first military reform you could probably go ham and conquer other uncivs for research points. I'm not sure but I also suspect they are isolated enough that you can safely exceed the infamy limit without being attacked, at least before you get a border with some of the great powers, so that could help speed things up too.

Just had a random thought. You've done many formable based speedruns, but what about doing a run where you reach that countries territorial height? Example: USA: Occupation of Germany & Austria. Occupation of Japan. Spanish American War Annexations Alaska Could be fun with smaller nations, or those with very great heights. Like Iran or Mongolia. It could also be more interesting strategy wise if you could only directly annex lands owned in those borders.

im totally impresed goddamn dude, every video you do i learn a shitton of mechanics and game breaking shit. btw it would be interesting to see you to do other formables like arabia (with all cores) but with abu dhabi or tripoli, some shit like that (i think you can only form arabia with nejd anyways lol)

Thank you, glad I can showcase some obscure mechanics for you! :D Well I'm not so sure I will do Arabia as any other country, I've already done Arabia All Cores runs as Egypt and that's enough for me. Tripoli is an interesting challenge though, but mostly just the beginning, surviving the first war against the Ottomans, so I don't think I would bother going further than that :P

1:11 Isn’t the Russian Empire technically a formable nation for the same reasons of the US? I haven’t checked because I’ve never gotten Russia to collapse and checking the gamefiles is just too finnicky for me, but I’m pretty sure Belarus and Ukraine can take the decision, at least in theory. Of course, it would be nearly impossible

Sadly no, Russia is not a cultural union and thus isn't formable. It's possible to check every cultural union tag in the cultures file and Russia is not designated as one there. There are several countries that you could argue would make sense as cultural unions but which the devs still didn't make as such.

The most confusing part for me was where you had 15-20% reactionary pops in 1889 but only 5-10% conservative pops. I rarely have 5% reactionary by that point. Maybe base game ideologies work very different from those in PDM and HFM?

I hadn't even noticed that. The ideologies might work differently in vanilla compared to mods, but I think it's still rare to have more reactionaries than conservatives. I'm not sure exactly why I had so many, but it might be because I was very aggressively passing reforms to increase immigration, and I *think* you get an increase in reactionaries every time you pass a reform.

No, you can only form countries in this way if they're a cultural union, which is a specific designation in the game files. Ottomans are not designated as a cultural union, so they can't be reformed unfortunately.

@@xarxos5274 damn. Yeah just checked that. I wish Turks had a little bit more content tbh. I looked and you cant even form Turkestan. There is no Tataristan tag so Tatars never revolt etc.
