I call this REFRAME, as it came in the context of rethinking how I use the ALM/BusyCircuits Squid Salmple module. Also a message to myself about broadly, seeing the world in new ways, and narrowly--how poorly this was shot (haha).
What's happening here? Sorry, went for dark stylized video but trust me it wasn't east to see what was going on with the modules, anyway. The next video will be sharper--promise! Anyway...
Drone is made from 3 looped samples (via ALM SQUID SALMPLE) of the 4MS SWN. They are then (de)tuned via the knobs on the Salmple, with various other samples (again from SWN) triggered with random gates for texture--it's sent through Smog (uClouds) for more space/movement/texture. An additional low analog tone is coming from Dixie II+ via the modulated Make Noise QPAS + Mimeophon, which adds stereo filtering/phasing, space and motion. The high string tones are coming from the Qu-Bit Surface and given space with the Neunaber Immerse II reverb pedal (sent/returned via Strymon AA.1). The sequence is generative and changes over time, courtesy of the Qu-Bit Bloom. Everything is clock-synced via Pamela's NEW Workout (which also triggers the Salmple), multed through FrapTools 333. Tones are mixed through the pair of Intellijel Mixup modules before going out via Befaco Out v3. Rack is Pittsburgh Modular Structure EP-360.
As usual, this "patch" is composed, constructed, and set loose in the machine, not actively performed.
