Martin, don’t understand how you can climb into that nasty water and not be concerned about snakes and other creatures. I guess you do not have gators in that part of the country. God bless you. You are such a great resource to your neighbors!
@@vonnieskitchenmartinsshack5544, @Vonnie's Kitchen Martin's Shack , always glad to see you out & about, Martin. Tell Vonnie we miss her & hope she'll be back soon with another delicious recipe!
I'll bet you learned more about the swamp system in that area than you ever thought you wanted to know. Thanks for the nice video of water and greenery.
"BLAH BLAH BLAH, somethin' 'bout the BEAVER DECEIVER, BLAH BLAH BLAH, Miss Vonnie's CHERRY PIES... 😍🍒🥟YOU FINALLY GOT MY ATTENTION, Mr. Martin! 😘 Blessings to you both, and wishing you a wonderful Independence Day weekend! 🇺🇸🎉🧨🎇❇️ Vancouver, WA 🙏🌲🇺🇸
Don't you just love it when a plan comes together! Pie, coke, & a nap! Don't get much better than that! You and that beaver are even but that farmer seems to be behind a bit! ☕ 🍰 👍
@@vonnieskitchenmartinsshack5544 thanks Vonnie, hope your doing well! By the way, did you see my suggestion for a raspberry pie with melted chocolate sprinkled across the top? That would be scrumptious...
You have he best playgrounds. It looks like you are getting a different kind of beaver fever. Beaver deceiver fever. I am still waiting for you to catch some catfish so Vonnie can make a video on how she cooks them up. Thanks for sharing.
Sure No Shortage Of Work Being Done & Continued There, Martin, You & Vonnie Have A Swell 4th Of July Happy Trails From The Maritimes In Canada Stay Sharp, Friend ! ATB T God Bless
That area looks so lush and green. I wish I had seen more of Illinois back in early nineties. Unfortunately all I saw was the Great Lakes. Getting up to Woodland Caribou is still on my bucket list. After watching videos from you, Shawn James and young Joe Robinet has given me that longing to see it in person. Did the floor dry out after removing those plates? Have a fantastic Fourth of July sir. And God bless you and your family.👍
Thanks for the update and the laughs, I don't think taking a dip in the slough with snapping turtles like the one you showed earlier is safe. Lol, have a safe fourth of July.
@@mattstarr8203 I know, we were so relieved all that concrete got watered LOL Not far north from us and east of Prairie du Chein, they got 6"!!! Vonnie
So...how long was it between discovering the field was wet and heading for the dam to dig out a new channel? Maybe it would have gone down fairly quickly on its own? In other words, the drainage system might just have needed a little bit longer go do its job? Of course, if you need the field drained RIGHT NOW, you gotta do what you gotta do...okay, now I finish watching the video...lol!
...oh...okay, I know how THAT goes. And now, I'm GONNA make up a batch of cherry trail pies, because it just looks too easy and too good to pass up not giving it a try!
If I had talked to the farmer on my way down I would have solved the mystery without a lot of wondering. He just thought if water was flowing towards his field now he was in real trouble when we get some rain.
Hey, Martin. I just working down near you in Roscoe the other day. Didn't see you though -- You must have been off in the woods. I wanted to know if that water is supposed to be so mossy, or is that from all the run-offs from the farms? I forget what it's called, but there's a type of environmental damage where fertilizer causes moss to grow in superabundance on wetlands. This prevents plants at the bottom of the water from getting sunlight and throws the whole ecosystem into disarray. EDIT: I looked it up. It's called eutrophication.
I am not sure how much of that "green" is natural algae growth. No water running off at all this year so this seems to be so thick from the heat and little new water coming in.
You haven’t removed the insulation yet? Question, how did the water get up that high? Did your Beaver Dam have water backed up or we talking about a natural flood?
It was a 50 year flood and the water came just shy of the floor but well into the floor joist. I was surprised that the insulation looked usable again. It was a thin soggy mat when I dropped the steel panels.
No issues to report. All is well. Have a look around and wondered what could cause such a snort? Perhaps the beavers have a secret port.. No rain coming from the sky. Neighbor’s may have some sort of problem with their eye. Regardless. Looks like it’s Time for another of Vonnie’s cherry pie.
If you are skinny dipping you might need some snapping turtle insurance. It know it can happen with “Shell Cracker” fish. I am a guy who knows a guy that it happened to and I have two other witnesses from sixty years ago. We were about 13 years old. Terror in the muddy waters. First and last time for everything, right?
Is that a marijuana plant on the front of Martins Orange Tee Shirt ??? Just teasin you Martin. I was out wondering around in the Coast Range today in Oregon and realized I had not seen a Martin Utube in a while and started to worry. Whew. Saw this video and everything is okay again.
