That beaver is thinking "this is one smart old man " hopefully he thinks that is a big trap and stays away from it. Good luck and wash your hands before you eat them cherry pies.
While taking a break from some yard work I noticed the new upload notification, Which brought a smile to my face. The beaver is proving himself a worthy opponent. Our small drought here was alleviated by recent rains. As always sir, God bless to you and your family. Cheers, Ken👍
Martin goes head to head with a overly intelligent beaver that is getting into Martin's head. The war has begun! This is gonna be a fun saga to watch. 😁
Martin, this is beginning to look like Bill Murray and the gopher...who has the hardest head...maybe it is time for a new job. :) Just hassling you.Good to see you. :)
I admire your positive attitude and tenacity. Here in Maine you cannot mess with a Beaver dam without permission of Game and Fish. We have a great number of beavers that sometimes cause problems with flooded roads and septic systems, but I love having them around.
Mornin Martin First off we’re hoping that Vonnie is doing well now …secondly..I’m almost rolling on the floor laughing with your on going vendetta with the phantom beaver ..now I’m trying to stay positive and stay in your corner lol..but damn I think he’s winning this fight .. lol..I’m thinking almost to the point that maybe someone might trap the critter out of the pond ..or at least till a new one moves in ..anyway wishing you some more luck lol have a great day
@@TheNorthwoodsman1 This particular beaver may just chew the legs off your shack down by the creek to get even. You know the old adage: "A beaver never forgets or forgives."
Hey great to see ya back doing videos! Hope all is well. My Saturday and Sunday morning coffee hasn't been the same! Saw your comment about Vonnie having vertigo. Yikes. Hope all is well or getting better. I think those red wing black birds in the background are singing to you.
These old beavers have more PHD educational years than any man can count. The beauty is they are born knowing how to control water. Experience for thousands of years counts for something. I keep expecting a swamp monster to come up from the depths.
You are a brave person getting in that water with the size of the turtles you showed on the past videos. I don’t know if they will go after you but I would be freaking out. This is definitely an entertaining project you are taking us on. Good luck! 🦫🍀👍
I've only seen snapping turtles be aggressive when out of water. In the water they are more mobile and will most likely move away. Alligator snappers on the other hand don't move much, but I do not know if they're found that far north. Have seen photos of fairly new born snappers ~2 hours south of the Wisconsin border that look like alligator snappers by the shell design. Definitely possible.
I see you're foolin' with nature. 😂😂😂 My husband says this looks like a "Red Green" concoction (look up "The Red Green Show" on RU-vid 😏) LOLOL👍 Blessings to you and THE BEAUTIFUL Miss Vonnie 💕🌸 Washington State 🌲🇺🇸
Hopefully you did this on the day that Vonnie made her corn beef hash for supper, good energy food after a hard days work. Do you have an extra game camera you can set up to watch the beaver try and figure out what is going on? Thanks for sharing.
Betcha that old beaver was somewhere in the background, watching you and figuring "Hah! Wait till he's gone! I"ll fix that tonight!" I think your viewers, like myself, are having as much fun watching as you are, fighting the beaver!
Martin. You are working so hard to lower the water but I think I saw the beaver in the background and I really think he was making faces at you and grinning so I think mr beaver has something up his sleeve so you might want to go back to the drawing board. Lol. Martin. You should try to catch him and bring him to hawks pond or not. Good luck
Come on Martin you can win this war with the beaver. I think you are enjoying this challenge. Keep working at it and you will win for sure. You can not have anymore of Vonnie’s cherry pies until you beat this beaver . Ha Good luck from Mississippi.
Now, hopefully they won't just chew through the tubes. Beavers behind our cabin made a mess of things once when they chewed through peoples rubber water lines. Maybe it was just one beaver who developed the knack for it, but they would find them under water, guess it was a root or whatever, and chew right through it.
Martin, next round use black PVC {it sinks} and at the end put a 90% elbow and have the riser the hight you want the pond, you wont even need to fence it in.....God Bless
Hey im back my old friend", got my old 80cc saws up and running great, ive cut tons of woods so far",and would love to be out their helping yeah on that beaver project. im out today puting new roof on my work shop and was thinking",You being their gives more drive to get him from doing his duty!!stop water from flowing haha hopefully hes gives up
I have a few left from the old days. We have some otters around so still want to come to a compromise with this beaver. I know it will be an ongoing battle but for now its still fun.
Amazing how many times & in how many circumstances we re-invent the wheel. You certainly are not the only one. I'm only ,very slowly, learning to check out the knowledge available on the internet. I admire your attempts to protect our world. Part of ther question is: Do we have the endurance of the beaver? Stay safe & thanks Brian 81
@@TheNorthwoodsman1 I’m interested in visiting your cabin. I think it would be a great experience. You gave me your email address previously as northwoodsman10@gmail.com to which I replied but received no email back to verify...
Just big snapping turtles here. In the last clip of the video he came up to check my out but it did not show in the video. Left side of the screen out in the water.
@@vonnieskitchenmartinsshack5544 - I went back and watched the last clip. When his head broke the water, I noted the ripples, but the shadows hid his head.

He's thinking the same thing, Greg, but now the smoke from the forest fires in Canada is too thick at the cabin. Poor guy, he had to finish all those pies here!!! In fact he shared one with a buddy in our yard after a bike ride. I think he's aiming for September now. Vonnie
Water is backing up too deep. A little more time and maybe it will stay where it is when the springs quit flowing into this slough. I am not too concerned with it being a little high right now.
Like when I was pulling debris out of the culvert with the garden tool and one came cartwheeling past my ear. I thought I was getting a rock out of the way.
I am keeping the water at a healthy level for all involved. Enough springs coming in that some needs to flow through. I am sure the wildlife downstream enjoys having a little water closeby.
I am told those beaver will wear you out! Out smart you! They can kill a dog literally they mess with them multiple beavers tag team to exhausts the dog. What kind of bird is chirping at you too. You must be by a birds nest with babies. Or warning the beavers! Thanks
