Awesome video!! Just what I need to replace the leaking ball valve in our 2002 Fleetwood Southwind. Since we inherited this in 2023 and some of these components might be original issue ... anything that is taken free from its connection will be taken outside and thoroughly cleaned before reinstalling. Again, great job and will be ordering all parts through your links,

I'm doing this now. I watched the video a couple of time and when I get to a doubtful moment, I refer to the video again. I replaced everything, gaskets, spring, flapper ... added a shutoff valve into the line. Now I'm on the anti-siph0n vacuum breaker thingy. Absolutely couldn't have done it without you. There are other videos out there. None of them clearly show you the parts, how to manipulate them. Your vids make sense, use common sense, show the actual repair process. Thanks so much TR. TR... Good morning. Hope you are safe and well. And not too inconvenienced by all of the restrictions that have been put in place around the country. Here in Iowa our governor has not issued shelter in place orders for us at this time. Our state parks are still open as well. I'm doing what I can to support my local restaurants and businesses. If you remember, I'm a heating and cooling guy. The Department of homeland security has determined that HVACR is an essential service. So we are able to continue working. As usual it's a pretty busy time for me. We are about to transition from furnace season to air conditioning season. As always I find your videos very helpful. Since I bought my RV two months ago. Your guidance has helped me replace the lights with LEDs. And I've just ordered a new porcelain toilet to replace the plastic one that's in there now. Still planning several more projects while I have the time. Hopefully I'll be able to get out and enjoy it before much longer. Keep the videos coming. They're a big help. Not to mention they make it easier to to hang out in the house while all this is going on. Stay safe my friend. Randy in Des Moines. 👍✌

We replaced the seal at the bottom and the gaskets. The only thing we did not replace was the valve that connects the hoses. The base seems loose and water is leaking from the floor in the back of the toilet now.

Have you tried tightening the screws that connect the valve to the toilet base. You might also check the hose connection to the vacuum breaker at the back. Can you tell where the water is coming from? I have a video on that here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_56kNVNs72Q.html

If you read this, where do I find the model number on the sealand toilet?
@trbowlin
@trbowlin 3 года назад
It's usually on the base at the back of the toilet. Take a picture of the underside of the bowl and look at the back, you should find it there. If not you may have to remove the decorative cover around the pedestal. If that fails you may try and find it here, marinesan.com/identify-your-toilet/ They have a nice picture with models but to be sure try and find it on the base of the toilet. Thanks for watching Patrick!

I've got the Model 210 and it is quite like this model. Great video and help me out. Any pointers on how to clean the bowl holes around the rim of the toilet bowl?? Would like to have a little more flow down the side. Thanks!
@trbowlin
@trbowlin 2 года назад
Yes, go to Harbor Freight Tools *or your favorite, and get some round cleaning brushes something like these amzn.to/3Ew7XV4. Then with a little lime-away scrub the holes with it. Let them set for a few minutes and scrub again. Just keep doing that till the water scale is gone. That should get them clean and flowing freely!

@trbowlin
@trbowlin 2 года назад
It's really easy to install the gaskets between the stem and bowl (the two large ones) in the wrong order. If you do, the bowl won't hold water. Take the toilet off the stem and reverse the gaskets so the one on top is on the bottom and versa visa. That should take care of it. If it does not let me know. Thanks, Lisa!

Great work TR! So much to learn from others that ‘go first’! I think you saved quite a bit of frustration for others (fast followers)! Bit of a shitty job to say the least. Did you use the Vaseline or Vicks in the nostrils to handle the smell? Oh yeah... You use the TR bIogen black tank treatment so you don’t have that issue!! Thanks for sharing. Thanks Jim. No smell to speak of, and I also stuffed that piece of closed cell wrapping that the valve flapper was in. The worst was the first time I took the flapper out. It was disgusting! I greatly appreciate your kind comments and look forward to making more content for you to enjoy!

Have you ever had to remove the flange that goes through the floor into the sewer pipe. The previous owners somehow rotated the toilet about 30 degrees counter clockwise and I'm hoping to rotate it back to perpendicular to the back wall. I think I'll have to unscrew and remove the flange from the metal sewer pipe. I assume it's sealed with something. Thanks. I need to get back over and check on your home remodel.
@trbowlin
@trbowlin 3 года назад
Wow, no I have not. You might want to call Newmar tech support, they are more than happy to answer any questions. I'd doubt that the pipe is metal, more likely ABS plastic and hopefully the flange is not glued or that could be a real big pain to remove and replace. Newmar can tell you if it is glued or screwed into the holding tank. That's a bummer for sure.
@jpd7518

Our 511 plus uses these same parts. After replacing everything except the flush ball, it is still not holding water. Does this need the ring seal like the 300 series uses? When we had the porcelain bowl off it looked like there was a recessed rim that another seal would go into?
@trbowlin
@trbowlin 3 года назад
You changed to two large gaskets? I looked at the schematic here www.environmentalmarine.com/511-511-911-and-2011/ and don't see any other seals. Did you install two large gaskets properly? (parts 4 & 5 on the diagram)
@jpd7518
@jpd7518 3 года назад
@@trbowlin yes, we have the original book and those are the gaskets we replaced. We have ordered the spring cartridge as our lever doesn't spring back and has to be used manually. Hopefully replacing that will make the flush ball go into the correct position? Thank you so much for answering.

Hi, TR. I am needing to do some work on my 510 Plus and noticed that the diagram you show when the video shows you holding the bowl to stem gaskets before re installing at about 10:03 in the video are a bit different. The diagram shows a gasket with a notch and a hole, and the gasket you link to on Amazon does not have the hole. Does this matter? I can find one with a hole on Amazon, but is there a working difference? Thank you.
@trbowlin
@trbowlin 3 года назад
There is no difference. I used the one I linked to and it works perfectly. I'm away from my video workstation right now but I will look at the raw video footage and see if the old one had a hole in it. As far as I can recall I don't think the old gasket had a hole but I should be able to review the footage that I didn't include in the video and see. I'll get back to you later this evening!

@@trbowlin Great! Thank you!!. I am full time and getting set up to tackle this job. My black tank is leaking and I think it is the rubber gasket that goes around the hole in the top of the tank, not sure until I get this apart so I want to have everything I may need ready.

@@romas7081 I reviewed the footage and the old gasket did not have a hole in it.
