I lknow it is your first egg but you made that way harder than it should be. You should have done the "clean burn" and just replaced the gasket. Don't introduce chemicals into your egg.
Thanks Don, you are correct, live and learn, my biggest issue is before I fired it up, I wanted to be able to inspect the inside, which is why I decided to scrap it all out by hand. And, I did discover a crack in the bottom when I did this (another video in the series). Having said that, I did not introduce any chemicals on the inside, I only used them to clean the outside.
