In the Catholic and Orthodox liturgies, the Eucharist, which is the consecrated bread and wine, is offered through the priest. This offering is believed to be the same offering as Christ's sacrifice on Calvary, and thus a true, pure offering (cf. John 6:25-69, Luke 22:19-20, 1 Cor. 10:16-18, 1 Cor. 11:23-29, etc.). This "ritual" is in harmony with the prophet Malachi who speaks of a day when incense and a pure offering (singular in Hebrew) is offered in all places (plural) (Mal. 1:11). The book of Hebrews (9:23) speaks of the OT sacrifices fulfilled in better "sacrifices" (plural in Greek).1 Yet since Christ's sacrifice is one and unique, how can this be? Because it can be seen in the plural via the one sacrifice's continual re-presentation in the Eucharist in all places as the prophet Malachi foretold. Thus, participating in the "ritual" of the liturgy most profoundly fulfills the call of Scripture.😎 Here is what Saint Ignatius said regarding: Transubstantiation- "They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they confess not the Eucharist to be the flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, which suffered for our sins, and which the Father, of His goodness, raised up again. Those, therefore, who speak against this gift of God, incur death in the midst of their disputes."(Letter to the Smymaeans Chapter VII) The Bodily ressurrection of Christ- "For I know that after His [Christ's] ressurrection also He was still posessed of flesh, and I believe that he is so now [Keep in mind that he is writing years AFTER Jesus ascended to Heaven]. (Letter to the Smyrnaeans Chapter III) Regarding Christ's Deity- "Ye have done well in recieving Philo and RheusAgathopus as servants of Christ our God, who have followed me for the sake of God, and who give thanks to the Lord in your behalf, because you in every way have refreshed them." (Letter to the Smyrnaeans Chapter X) Please don't say that this man wasn't inspired, or that this man was not in harmoney with the Bible. This man was a personal friend of Saint Peter, and studied Christ under Saint John. He wrote these letters on his way to Rome where he was EATEN BY LIONS. Saint Ignatius was the Second (or third) Bishop of Antioch, the First place where Christians were called Christians. Saint Ignatius knew what the Apostles knew about Jesus, and his works come from the same time period as the Books of the Bible. When a First Century Christian believes this, why don’t you, and why do you refer to these Martyrs as your First Century Christian Brothers

@@mitchellosmer1293 um where is the word bible in the bible to bad you have to depend on the catholic church for that as well 4TH CENTURY THE FIRST USE OF THE WORD "BIBLE": It came from the Greek word "biblos" which means the inner bark of the papyrus, paper-reed, from which paper was originally made, in Egypt. The Latin form "Biblia" spelled with a capital letter, came to mean "the Book of Books," "The Book" by way of pre-eminence, the inspired Book, etc. The Holy Scriptures were first called the Bible by St. Chrysostom, the Catholic Archbishop of Constantinople, in the 4th century. (12)😉😉 Catholic Church” in the Bible Many people argue that the Catholic Church is not the Church founded by Jesus Christ beginning with Peter and the Apostles. One argument often made is that the phrase “Catholic Church” does not appear within the pages of Scripture. Aside from the fact that this argument is weak since the words “trinity” and “Bible” are not contained in Holy Writ either, is it really true that the Catholic Church is not named in the Bible? Well, take a look at the following verse from the Acts of the Apostles, and decide for yourself: Acts 9:31 (Greek) ἡ μεν ουν εκκλησια καθ᾽ὁλης της ιουδαιας και γαλιλαιας και σαμαρειας ειχεν ειρηνην οικοδομουμενη και πορευομενη τω φοβω του κυριου, και τη παρακλησει του ἁγιου πνευματος επληθυνοντο. Act 9:31 (Transliteration) aye men oon ekklaysiaye kath olays tays ioodayeas kaye galilayeas kaye samarayas aycon ayraynayn oikodomoomenaye kaye poryoomenaye tow fobow too kurioo kaye tay paraklaysay too agioo pnyoomatos eplaythunonto (www.russ.org/gtb/luke.html#a9) Acts 9:31 So the Church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was built up; and walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit it was multiplied. From this text, we can see the Greek word “kath olays” which is rendered “Catholic” in modern English and the word “ekklaysiaye” which becomes “ecclesia” in English and is commonly translated as “church”. εκκλησια καθ᾽ὁλης = ekklaysiaye kath olays = “the church throughout all” = Catholic Church

It doesn't surprise me that people would not like catholicism. If you follow Christ's ministry there is a point when he miraculously feeds 5,000. Afterwards they ask Him what the bread of life was. Christ tells them it's his body. All those 5,000 except the 12 disciples leave Christ immediately even after witnessing a miracle. The vast majority will reject Christ when they hear the truth.

Paul wrote to the Corinthians: "The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?" (1 Cor. 10:16). So when we receive Communion, we actually participate in the body and blood of Christ, not just eat symbols of them. Paul also said, "Therefore whoever eats the bread and drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will have to answer for the body and blood of the Lord. . . . For any one who eats and drinks without discerning the body, eats and drinks judgment on himself" (1 Cor. 11:27, 29). "To answer for the body and blood" of someone meant to be guilty of a crime as serious as homicide. How could eating mere bread and wine "unworthily" be so serious? Paul’s comment makes sense only if the bread and wine became the real body and blood of Christ.😫

Hey Canadian Anglican! I think Bible Man speaks rightly of me and I'm not ashamed to say I have Relationship with Jesus, not a religion. Just as the prophets wrote "I desire mercy and not sacrifice" and God does not want my sacrifices, he wants my heart. I was born into a Charismatic Pentecostal leaning family. From them I learned faith, the work of the Spirit, the warnings of compromise. I went to a Christian private school where I embraced my Bible and read through it many times. This is where I collected a large amount of Scripture memorization. In Yahoo chat rooms in the 90's to 00's I found other religions and fell in love with apologetics. As a young adult I moved to a highly reformed church and fell into their teachings. I found the book "Systematic Theology" by Wayne Grudem. From them I learned a passion to interpret Scripture, to serve God no matter my personal conviction, I learned about God's sovereignty. I went into seminary founded by Francis Chan, here I learned Bible study skills like hermeneutics, how to exegete, language studies, church history, all the denominations and more about other religions, this is where I began to build my "men on the shelf". Then I started to suffer a lot in life. Lost jobs, lost kids in miscarriages, lost brother in law to covid, lost my marriage to greif, youngest son born with type 1 diabetes. I began the work of deconstruction and reconstruction. I began to see how all the impressive books I read were at best commentaries on the infinite. That no one has all the answers. That our relationship with God is all that matters. So currently, I fit the mold of an evangelical protestant. But that's not definition enough because there's a wide spectrum in there. I'm Trinitarian. Sola Scriptura. Anti-reformed. Complementarian. Continuationist. Amillenial. Bible Man might have a lot of Venom for me, but at least he understands me 😀❤️

@@BryceNeubergerSermons I wonder where it says in scripture you need a relationship with Jesus and not a religion... E-Z faith, one without someone telling you what to do, a self-authorized version of the NT Church.where the individual assumes the title of Apostle, Prophet, Pastor, Teacher, Exorcist and Vicar of Christ along with being the infallible interpreter of the Holy Scriptures with a direct line to heaven guided by the Holy Spirit. He took the bait and now he's hooked on a "non denomination church" as he calls it. It has no name. He was told that he needs a relationship, not a religion, 🤢 Well actually the Bible does say that as long as our religion is 'pure' it is good. Not to mention other versus such as: "Train yourself for religion.. the usefulness of religion is unlimited since it holds promise for both life now and here to come" (1Tim4:7-8) "The mystery of our religion is very deep" (1Tim3:16) "You must aim to be upright and religious.." (1Tim6:11) "We must live upright and religious lives" (Titus:1:12) We must keep religion and doctrine (1Tim 6:3) Then why was Jesus religious? Baptizing Baptized Celebrating Jewish laws and festivals Teaching in the temple Etc.... Luke 11:23, "Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters." Also, at the Last Supper, Jesus prayed that we may be one, just as He and The Father are one. How are we to be one if we do not unite and gather? And, the Apostles formed Churches. They didn't convert a person and leave him/her, but united them together in Churches. And, as we know, Jesus and The Apostles are the Foundation of The Church. To believe in Jesus is to have a religion.

Vs 54, "Whoever eats My flesh, and drinks My blood, has eternal life; and I will raise him up on the last day." Did He say to eat the symbol of His flesh? Vs 55, Jesus said, "For My flesh is meat indeed, and My blood is drink indeed."😎 Vs 56, Jesus said, "He that eats My flesh and drinks My blood dwells in Me, and I in him." Did He say, 'He that eats a symbol of My flesh...'. How can a mere symbol fulfill this promise? Does only a symbol of Christ dwell in us? I thought GOD Himself dwelt within us, 1John 4:12-13. Vs 59, This verse shows that Jesus taught this discourse to all the people. Vs 60,They doubt a third time when many disciples said, "This is a hard saying, who can hear it"? The Jews were instilled by many Old Testament verses, admonishing them not to consume blood. See Deut 12:23, Lev 17:11and 14. They must have thought this was something akin to cannibalism. Is this what you think too? At any point did Jesus back down? Explain to me, if this chapter is symbolic, why did He not explain the symbolism to them? Vs 61, Jesus did not back down, for He said, "Does this offend you?" He knew their thoughts and He certainly knew the Old Testament verses about the consumption of blood. In the next verse, He separated spiritual things from earthly things. Vs 63*, Jesus said, "It is the spirit that quickens; the flesh profits nothing. The words I speak to you, they are spirit, and they are life." Did He say He was speaking figuratively or in parables? This is the second verse detractors use to try to "prove" that Jesus spoke figuratively for the whole chapter. Did Jesus say "My" flesh? No, He said "the" flesh. What Jesus had said was, that we cannot accept this mystery if we accept it in too human a way, by having an earthly view of things. Those who can only think of cannibalism, are they not having an earthly view? See John 3:6, "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." Verse 63 means that we should not have a carnal human understanding of His words, but a spiritual understanding. In John, chapter 6, Jesus had not only called the 12 Apostles, there was also much larger group of other disciples. Things seemed to be going pretty well. That is until Jesus said “For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.” This was too much for many of his disciples and “From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.” Jesus turns to the 12 and asks, “Will ye also go away? Simon Peter gives the same answer that I find myself saying to those who tell me I should leave the Catholic Church for this reason or that one, “Lord, to whom shall we go?” No matter what a certain priest does, no matter what scandals hit the church, despite whatever corruption or abuse of power might exist, and despite whatever mistakes the Church has made throughout history, “to whom shall we go?” for here is the body and blood of Christ given for a sinner as miserable as I. Matt. 26:26-28; Mark. 14:22,24; Luke 22;19-20; 1 Cor. 11:24-25 - Jesus says, this IS my body and blood. Jesus does not say, this is a symbol of my body and blood. Matt. 26:26; Mark. 14:22; Luke 22:19-20 - the Greek phrase is "Toutoestin to soma mou." This phraseology means "this is actually" or "this is really" my body and blood.

The reason I left the Baptist and 4 square (Protestant) churches and became catholic was simple. These churches just made up their own interpretations as to what Scripture said. ESP when it comes to the “Rapture”. That was one of the first things that clued me into these different Gospels. It’s what ever the preachers personal “Holy Spirit” “revealed” to him. To fix all the mistakes that Jesus Made. Then I realized that it was in fact the Catholic Church that created the very bible we used for over 1000 yrs. Even Luther stated!” We concede as we must that so much of what they(Catholics) is true. That the papacy has God’s word and the office of the apostles, and that we have received Holy Scripture, Baptism, and the Sacrament and the pulpit from them, what would we know of these if it were not from them. (The Catholics). If Luther knew the truth! What has happened since then? It’s all just made up theology. 0:24

There is no other passage in the New testament other than John 6: 35-56 where Jesus emphasizes his teaching repeatedly. In the Gospel of John, four times our Lord says that he is the bread and five times He says that its his flesh we have to eat. He instituted this sacrament by giving his flesh to eat in the upper room in Jerusalem on the eve of the Passover (Matthew 26:26-28) We understand that Eucharistic sacrament he instituted was again celebrated at Emmaus after his resurrection (Luke 24: 30-31). The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying: How can this man give us his flesh to eat? Then Jesus said to them; Amen amen I say unto you: except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me, and I in him. As the living Father has sent me, and I live by the Father; so eateth me, the same shall live by me. This is the bread that came down from Heaven. Not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead. He that eateth this bread, shall live forever."

"Pope" is a title. Early writings of christians in the first centuries, even before Christianity was legal, mention that the bishops of rome are the successors of Peter and that every christian community should look up to rome, when they have questions. And there is a long list from Peter to Francis, claiming that he is the successor of Peter, as the bishop of rome, also called as the "pope"

@@bobskanal Peter was martyred in Rome...but it was Paul who founded the church at Rome, for he was the apostle of the gentiles and Rome was gentile. The letter to Romans confirms i that Paul the apostle founded the church in Rome.

@@joshuacherian6718wrong!!!! Read Romans 15:21 thus i aspire to proclaim the gospel not where christ has already been named, so that i do not build on another’s foundation. Verse 22 says that’s why i have so often been prevented from coming to you. The gospel was already preached at rome and most likely Peter.

U have said rightly ...Why would Paul the Roman write a letter to a church he has not founded. 😄👍

@@joshuacherian6718 but you said Paul founded the church in Rome he did not. Again read what he said with context! I do not build on another man’s foundation. Peter was in Rome before paul ever set foot in chains
