For the first 300 years of Christianity, there was no Bible as we know it today. Christians had the Old Testament Septuagint, and literally hundreds of other books from which to choose. The Catholic Church realized early on that she had to decide which of these books were inspired and which ones weren't. The debates raged between theologians, Bishops, and Church Fathers, for several centuries as to which books were inspired and which ones weren't. In the meantime, several Church Councils or Synods, were convened to deal with the matter, notably, Rome in 382, Hippo in 393, and Carthage in 397 and 419. The debates sometimes became bitter on both sides. One of the most famous was between St. Jerome, who felt the seven books were not canonical, and St. Augustine who said they were. Protestants who write about this will invariably mention St. Jerome and his opposition, and conveniently omit the support of St. Augustine. I must point out here that Church Father's writings are not infallible statements, and their arguments are merely reflections of their own private opinions. When some say St. Jerome was against the inclusion of the seven books, they are merely showing his personal opinion of them. Everyone is entitled to his own opinion. However, A PERSONS PRIVATE OPINION DOES NOT CHANGE THE TRUTH AT ALL. There are always three sides to every story, this side, that side, and the side of truth. Whether Jerome's position, or Augustine's position was the correct position, had to be settled by a third party, and that third party was the Catholic Church. Now the story had a dramatic change, as the Pope stepped in to settle the matter. In concurrence with the opinion of St. Augustine, and being prompted by the Holy Spirit, Pope St. Damasus I, at the Council of Rome in 382, issued a decree appropriately called, "The Decree of Damasus", in which he listed the canonical books of both the Old and New Testaments. He then asked St. Jerome to use this canon and to write a new Bible translation which included an Old Testament of 46 books, which were all in the Septuagint, and a New Testament of 27 books. ROME HAD SPOKEN, THE ISSUE WAS SETTLED. "THE CHURCH RECOGNIZED ITS IMAGE IN THE INSPIRED BOOKS OF THE BIBLE. THAT IS HOW IT DETERMINED THE CANON OF SCRIPTURE. St. Jerome acquiesced under obedience (Hebrews 13:17) and began the translation, and completed it in 404 A.D.. In 405, his new Latin Vulgate* was published for the first time. *The word "vulgate" means, "The common language of the people, or the vernacular". The Decree of Pope St. Damasus I, Council of Rome. 382 A.D....🤔🤔

Your organization's opinion also does not change the truth at all. They are also the opinions of men. You disagree. This is the crux of the issue. The divine inspiration of the various books of "the bible" was not decided in 382. Even if they had made a claim, it's not binding on men. The fact of the matter is that the Catholic claim on canonicity came much later...after a certain someone started highlighting issues in the supposed church.

Protestants concern themselves so much with finding the worship that fits best for them that they fail to ask God what kind of worship fits best for Him.

Christianity is defined in scripture. Protestants (the good ones) concern themselves with finding worship that is in accordance with scripture. I could say that Catholics ask other men what worship best works for them, but that's not exactly true either. Your statement is hyperbolic.

So you agree with the council of Trent and Carthage you say😂😂your Funny They had the full Cannon and up till 1859 this was the Cannon of protestants, it was the Scottish Bible society that removed the dutero canonicals that's the start of your tradition AD 1546: At the Council of Trent, the Catholic Church reaffirmed once and for all the full list of 27 books. The council also confirmed the inclusion of the Deuterocanonical books which had been a part of the Bible canon since the early Church and was confirmed at the councils of 393 AD, 373, 787 and 1442 AD. At Trent Rome actually dogmatized the canon, making it more than a matter of canon law, which had been the case up to that point, closing it for good. The Third Council of Carthage reaffirmed anew, the Canon put forth by Pope Damasus I... AD 397: Council of Carthage III. "It has been decided that nothing except the canonical Scriptures should be read in the Church under the name of the divine Scriptures. But the canonical Scriptures are: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, four books of Kings, Paralipomenon, two books, Job, the Psalter of David, five books of Solomon (Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, Wisdom, Sirach), twelve books of the Prophets, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, Ezekiel, Tobit, Judith, Esther, two books of Esdras, two books of the Maccabees." (canon 47 A.D. 397). It is to be noted that the book of Baruch was considered by some Church Fathers to be a part of the book of Jeremiah and as such was not listed separately by them. The Fourth Council of Carthage in 419 again reaffirmed the Canons as defined in previous councils......

As an agnostic, I told people that I refused to put the fate of my immortal soul in the hands of fallible men. God showed me that I needed to put my soul in his hands, and he put me in the Catholic church with its 2000 years of tradition.. as the successor of the Jewish faith, which Jesus recreated in the new covenant. Catholics are the OG faith. Being outside that church is taking yourself out from the Bride of Christ and putting yourself under men, and men can lead you astray. Catholics aren't perfect, but no one ever said they were. Peter was given the keys to the kingdom, and throughout the rest of the gospels we see how much Peter kept screwing up. Jesus knew he would make mistakes. He still trusted him with His church.

Jesus saved me without me putting my feet into any church, but still gave me 100% assurance of my eternal life. And while I first wanted to go to a Catholic Church, the Lord quickly moved my way away from it because it is not His way. Rom10:13: no church or Mary as mediator required. Eph 2:8, no church or mediator required... Hope you get saved, too! All it needs is Him. Everyone who tells you different fooled you. God bless! Check what "glory" means and you see that nobody but God is required.

@@HB_IE52829 I see you rely on your “Own understanding” 2 Pet 1:20 Know this first of all, that there is no prophecy of scripture that is a matter of personal interpretation Rom 12:16 ...do not be wise in your own estimation Prov 3:5 Trust in the Lord with thine heart and lean not on thine own understanding. YET- History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, not only did they not agree but their individual lists of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time, growing in numbers of hundreds of “inspired” NT writings. So, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 5th century with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved it by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us, show us, who did? And if this church no longer exists today, what good is the text which came forth from her if she couldn't sustain herself?

Trying to convince a skeptic is like arguing with a mirror. You both walk away feeling good about your positions, but ultimately nothing was accomplished. You need to open your heart to the Holy Spirit and pursue the truth with an open mind. We are all utterly hopeless and lost without the grace of God and humility to accept it. The water of grace will roll off a heart of stone, but a heart of flesh can drink deep.

well whether it is praying to the dead saints or asking them to pray for you, THE BIBLE says that God clearly says that those who communicate with the DEAD are an abomination unto Him. Right (hey, I can repeat myself, too, if you want to play that game), so when Jesus addresses the dead man Lazarus and communicates with him, he is committing an abomination. When Peter communicates with the dead woman Tabitha before raising her, he is committing an abomination (or are he and Jesus talking to the wind and not to the people involved?). And when Jesus talks to Moses and Elijah on the Mount of Transfiguration, He is committing an abomination. And whoever talks to the dead people who came out of their tombs after the crucifixion are also guilty of the same thing. And not just that; according to your “logic” in citing Deuteronomy 18:9, Jesus and Peter and these folks who talked to dead people in Jerusalem on Good Friday must have been either witches or soothsayers, or sorcerers, or mediums, or spiritists or some other such occultic category. So you prove from Scripture that Jesus and Peter are evil and of the devil. That’s no mean feat! One can only be awestruck at such chutzpah the person who seeks the medium to reach the dead or you directly communicate with the dead, it is an abomination to God. That’s fascinating. I agree about the mediums, which is the occult, and condemned, but what about both Jesus and St. Peter, who both “directly communicate[d] with the dead” and thus (according to you) committed abominations? It’s interesting that your unbiblical position leads you to this conclusion. Jesus (now He is a downright habitual sinner) did the same “abomination” on the Mount of Transfiguration, when He talked to Moses and Elijah: men who had been dead for hundreds of years (Matt 17:1-3). KJV uses the word necromancer in place of one who calls up the dead, which means the same anyways. Either way, God frowns upon communication with the dead, and it is present in Scripture. Peter and Jesus certainly “called up the dead” (in a very real, proper sense): they raised them. So did other disciples. I hadn’t heard before that Jesus and Peter were to be classified as “necromancers.” I’ll have to add that to the list of remarkable things I have learned from my esteemed Protestant brethren😆😆

Wow how can Mary hear your Prayers she isnt omnipresent she cant hear the Prayers of Millions ... Well She has an omnipresent God that wills it That's how 😎😎 Rev 5 :8-12 ➨ INTERCESSION of the SAINTS: REV 5 v 8... 8 When he took it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each of the elders held a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the holy ones. 9 They sang a new hymn: "Worthy are you to receive the scroll and to break open its seals, for you were slain and with your blood you purchased for God those from every tribe and tongue, people and nation. Only an Omniscient God can understand all the languages of all nations Nations..John Is a creature and Cant. Only an Omniscient God. 13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, everything in the universe, cry out: "To the one who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor, glory and might, forever and ever."Now John HERD ALL THIS all those languages of the earth. How did He hear all those Languages and understand them . God Had to have made it possible for John why couldn’t he do that for those in Heaven as well.. So why cant Mary and the saints hear since they have an Omniscient God to Make things Know to them the saints don’t have to Be Omniscient. God gave them that ability. What are , the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders doing with . Those Prayers in their hands the prayers of the holy ones. Why did God give those Prays to them to Give them to Him 9When he broke open the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar 8 the souls of those who had been slaughtered because of the witness they bore to the word of God.10 cried out in a loud voice, "How long will it be, holy and true master, 9 before you sit in judgment and avenge our blood on the inhabitants of the earth?"11Each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to be patient a little while longer until the number was filled of their fellow servants and brothers who were going to be killed as they had been. This Makes It Know to those Saints In Heaven That God would avenge the saints On earth at a Further tine The lord can Make know to those in heaven what happens on earth at a future time They are Now aware of thing going on Now do you think since they pray to the Lord they would not be praying to the Lord for their Brothers and Sisters of their fellow servants and brothers who were going to be killed as they had been to preserve them as the others had been . What act of Love are Christians told to do for one another Pray for one another Rev18: 19-24 What’s the reaction to those in heaven… To the destruction Of Babylon On earth if they aren’t made aware of what’s happening on earth. God made them aware giving Biblical proof that The Saints can be made aware of what’s taking place on Earth. They must have seen it Because allowed them to see it. Mathew 18:6-7 Do not harm little children because God loves them as well as Babes in the Faith Physically or spiritually. . 6But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Why does he say this “Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven. What does that mean the Angles are assigned to these children to watch over them and pray for them. They go before the father and Intercede for them . How do Angles know what is taking place on earth Angles are not Omniscient God thru the Holy Sprit reveals it to them they don’t have to be Omniscient. Luke 15:7 I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance. How can People in heaven rejoice over someone coming to repentance? If they’re not aware of their repentance. Now since Mary and the Saints are In heaven are they aware of their repentance and rejoice. Those in Heaven must be aware of what’s happening on Earth. Luke 15:10 In just the same way, I tell you, there will be rejoicing among the angels of God over one sinner who repents." Those in Heaven must be aware of what’s happening on Earth i 8 2 14 The four living creatures answered, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped. 10 You made them a kingdom and priests for our God, and they will reign on earth." 11 I looked again and heard the voices of many angels who surrounded the throne and the living creatures and the elders. They were countless 5 in number, 12 and they cried out in a loud voice: "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches, wisdom and strength, honor and glory and blessing."😆😆

I find it interesting that you find fault with pastor Bryce's reasons for rejecting your religion? Im grateful for our God, creator of the universe, who has given us a free-will to choose our beliefs. Do we accept or reject God's love for us? God allows this to be a very personal decision for every man He has created. Bryce's choice to disagree with the Catholic faith is very heartfelt and he has chosen to grow his faith in Christ alone. John 3:16 For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. I did not get from Bryce's video that he is attacking any of these religions he is doing his videos on. He is sharing his faith in Christ and helping us understand why he believes the way he does and why he can not be any one of these other religions!

” ‘He that believes in the Son has everlasting life.’ ‘Is it enough, then, to believe in the Son,’ someone will say, ‘in order to have everlasting life?’ By no means! Listen to Christ declare this himself when he says, ‘Not everyone who says to me, “Lord! Lord!” shall enter into the kingdom of heaven’; and the b.asphemy against the Spirit is alone sufficient to cast him into hell. But why should I speak of a part of our teaching? For if a man believe rightly in the Father and in the Son and in the Holy Spirit, but does not live rightly, his faith will avail him nothing toward salvation”😆😆

It’s even easier to rebuke the claim that believing alone is enough through the end of the chapter of John 3:16, which is John 3:36. He who believes in the son has eternal life but he who does not obey will not see life but feel the wrath of god

What Holy Scripture has said Christ's Church would be: 😂😂 How Christ's Church has conformed to Holy Scripture: It will be founded by GOD: Psalms 127:1, Matthew 16:18 It was founded by GOD. It will be highly visible: Isaiah 2:2, Matthew 5:14 It is highly visible. It will have the authority: Matthew 18:15-18, John 20:21-22 It has the authority given to it by Jesus Christ. It will have a Father Figure: Isaiah 22:20-25 It has a Father Figure, as GOD always had for His people. It will be a Theocracy and not a Democracy: Eph 5:23-24 It is a Theocracy. It is governed from the top down. The blueprint for it is described in the book of Acts. It is blueprinted in the book of Acts. It will have priests, deacons, Bishops: Acts 6:1-6,14:22,20:28 It always has had priests, deacons, and Bishops. It will have Apostolic Succession: Psalm 109:8, Acts 1:20-26 It has Apostolic Succession. It will offer sacrifice every day in every place: Malachi 1:11 It does offer sacrifice every day in every place. It will be guided by the Holy Spirit: John 14:16-17, 16:12-13 It is guided by the Holy Spirit: Acts 15:28, Rev 2:7 Truths of GOD to be revealed to it over time: John 16:12-13 Truths of GOD have been revealed to it over time: Eph 3:10 It will be the Pillar and Foundation of Truth: 1Timothy 3:15 It is the Pillar and Foundation of Truth. It will be the guardian of truth: 2Timothy 1:13-14 It has been the guardian of truth for almost 2000 years. It will uphold Apostolic Tradition: 2Thessalonians 2:15 It upholds Apostolic Tradition. It will have Church councils: Proverbs 11:14, Acts 15:1-29 It holds periodic Church councils: Acts 15:1-29 It will be attacked from the inside: John 6:70 It has been attacked from the inside. It will be attacked from the outside: Matthew 5:10-12, 10:22 It has been attacked from the outside. All who fight against it shall be confounded: Isaiah 41:11 37,000+ Protestant sects is proof that they are confounded. It will be found in every century: Ephesians 3:21 It is found in every century from the day Christ founded it. It will last forever: Isa 41:10-11, 54:17, 59:21, Matt 28:20 It is still with us today from the day in which He founded it. There is only one Church in the entire world which matches all of the Scriptural requirements as listed above. Can your sect match even one of those requirements? That's very simplistic. In my view, to believe in Jesus is to believe He existed, He's the Son of God and God in the flesh, never sinned, is our only savior and He did and say things in truth out of LOVE, NECESSITY AND with a PURPOSE. That said, we have to look closely to his deeds, particularly about establishing a Church. Why did He instituted such a thing? What was the necessity for that and the purpose? So that we don't ever loose sight of his true teachings. And what did His Church taught? Well, all we have to do is analyse all the primitive documents from the first centuries and come to the conclusion what Church today teaches the same things as the early church (and there's only one that corresponds: the Catholic Church). In conclusion: to believe in Christ is to believe and hold fast to His Church. To believe in Christ and reject His established Church is a dichotomy/contradiction. Even Christ identifies Himself with his Church (Acts 9:4; 22:7; Lk 10:16; 1Tim.3:15)

OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST IS THE HEAD OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH WHICH HE BUILD ONLY ONE CHURCH THROUGH HIS APOSTLE PETER ONLY NOT EVEN TO HIS 11 APOSTLES BUT ONLY ONE CHURCH, AND THE POPES ARE THE SUCCESSORS RIGHT FROM HIS APOSTLE PETER. NO ONE CAN BUILD THE CHURCH ONLY THE SON OF GOD CAN BUILD THE CHURCH. BUT NOW THERE ARE THOUSAND OF CHURCHES BUILD BY MEN THEY WERE REJECT AND AGAINST HIS CHURCH. John 6:47 - Jesus say "truly truly I say to you, he who believes has eternal life". John 6:64-65 - Jesus say "but there are some of you that do not believe. For Jesus knew from the first who those were that not believe, AND WHO IT WAS THAT BETRAY HIM. And Jesus said "this is why I told you that no one can come to Me unless it is granted him by the Father". John 7:18 - Jesus warned us "HE WHO ON HIS OWN AUTHORITY SEEK HIS OWN GLORY, BUT HE WHO SEEKS THE GLORY OF GOD WHO SENT HIM IS TRUE, AND IN HIM THERE IS NO FALSEHOOD". John 5:24 - Jesus say "truly truly, I say to you, he who hears My Words and believes HIM who sent Me has eternal life; he does not come into judgment but has passed from death to life". John 10:25-26 - Jesus answered "I told you and you do not believe. The WORKS that I do in My Father's Name, they bear witness to Me; BUT YOU DO NOT BELIEVE BECAUSE YOU DO NOT BELONG TO MY SHEEP". Mark 13:5-6 - Jesus warned us "take heed that no one leads you astray. Many will come in My Name saying I am he and they will leads many astray". Mark 13:13 - Jesus told us "and you will be hated by all for My Name's sake. BUT HE WHO ENDURES TO THE END WILL BE SAVED". Mark 13:22-23 - Jesus warned us "false christs and false prophets will arise and show signs and wonders, to lead astray IF POSSIBLE THE ELECT. BUT TAKE HEED, I HAVE TOLD YOU ALL THINGS BEFOREHAND". Great dialog..Biggest difference between catholicism and protestants or Lutherans or Baptists is Catholicism emphasis is on the authority of the church while the others emphasis is on the authority of the word of God (Bible). Jesus alone is our High Priest and intersessor with God our Father in whom Jesus says that there is nothing I do apart from the father. And, if you see Me you see the Father...

Well there's a problem with your question. I never said the Catholic Church should be erased from history, and doing that would be the opposite of my argument. Though that's definitely a historical Catholic position, burn the books, burn the heretics, erase the opposition. That's my problem with them. I wouldn't change a thing about history. The church started with the apostles. The church was always flawed, Paul had to "oppose Peter to his face" for his compromise and treatment of gentiles. Believers gathered to study Scripture, came up with creeds, debated one another. That kept happening. This continues to happen. Let's let it continue to happen. The Catholic position seems to be "no, believe us". To which I would say "convince me". I remain unconvinced. Your question is my position. I have a right to be unconvinced. You have a right to be convinced. Even if I was able to lay out The 8,000 word essay I'd need to lay out, a Catholic would just say "well who's your authority? I don't recognize their authority!" And the arguments would be thrown out. Because they don't have the freedom to be convinced.

The orthodox church was originally called the Orthodox catholic church or Apostolic catholic- Catholic word is incorrect for catholics to use as the only church that excisted I'm 325 was the (Orthodox catholic church ) Or (Apostolic catholic church ) You should be called pappists strictly speaking as you follow what the pope tells, you. The pope of Rome left the other 4 patriachs ( affectionately called pope ) in the orthodox church in 1054 after the schism , and started Roman Catholics, The proof is this. The orthodox church till this day still have 5 popes Jesus is,the the head of the Church , so one person can't corrupt the church (its decentralized) you have one person who's considered infallible who has already corrupted it , (Have you read the notre aetate of Vatican 2 ? It praises Islam which is blasphemy as Islam , don't belive Jesus is divine ... I would recommend you listen to Jay Dyer who spend 10 years catholic and is now Orthodox he has plenty of information on the topic why he eventually realised the Catholic church was wrong- Read the original Nicene creed written in 1054 See the word Catholic (which means universal in ancient greek) The Creed is as follows: • I believe in one (1) God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth and of all things visible and invisible. • And in one (1) Lord, Jesus Christ, the only-be-gotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all Ages. Light of Light, True God of True God, begotten, not created, of one essence with the Father, through Whom all things were made. • Who for us men and for our salvation, He came down from heaven and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became Man. • He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and He suffered and was buried. • And He rose on the third day according to the Scriptures. • He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father; • And He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead; His kingdom shall have no end. • And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Creator of Life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who together with the Father and the Son, is worshipped and glorified; Who spoke through the Prophets. • I believe in One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. • I confess One Baptism for the remission of sins. • I look for the resurrection of the dead. • And the life of the Age to come. From Google ask a greek if this is correct - Adjective. καθολικός • (katholikós) m (feminine καθολική, neuter καθολικό) universal. God bless To be taken with love in christ - I'm not judging..
