1) enjoyed this so much 2) why isn't everyone using the term "temperance cocktails" - it's exceedingly elegant 3) looking forward to next month's review!

I just recently got this book and (as dumb as it may sound) it is one of the most moving and profound books that I’ve ever read! You really feel the passion and perfection that he strives for in his craft and to me that’s really cool!!!

A Lot of you have been asking me about Sasha And Georgette Moger-Petraske's book Regarding Cocktails as it has seemingly been pulled from Amazon. It is still available from Georgette's website and you can score one here: regardingoysters.com

Sasha and other bartenders that came out of the Milk & Honey have a unique style, that's somehow simultaneously instantly recognisable once you start looking for it, and yet really hard to describe. I've had it happen several times where I'm drinking something, or looking at the specs of a drink and I think to myself "Huh, that tastes like something that came out of the Milk & Honey.", and I'm usually right. There's a certain elegance to the drinks, which is something that I constantly strive to emulate for my bar. I can highly recommend this book, Sasha's work has been an inspiration.

My local bartender insisted on making a drink from that book, the Medicina Latina. It was so good! Milk and Honey London apparently closed in September 2020.

Apologies for the correction...Just so the kids dont get confused, that's "Keep Their Heads Ringin" By Dr. Dre. 😬 I Love that you've started a new channel for content such as this. As a bartender with less than a year of experience under my belt, I take the information you choose to share to heart. I've learned a lot from you and Greg @ How To Drink, and can't thank you enough for sharing your knowledge and your commitment to excellence. Keep up the good work, and please keep those cocktails coming. My "little black book" gets a little more interesting every week.

The friend that got me into cocktails gave me this book, and it’s what set me on this path (as a hobbyist). His pursuit of excellency is inspiring. He’s part of the movement that took the 80’s cocktail culture from flipping colorful bottles while dancing (thanks Tom Cruise!) to “craft cocktail” and renaissance of cocktails as this cool thing people can enjoy. Truly amazing character.

Definitely a must buy for all bartenders, professional and amateur alike. Sasha seemed like an incredibly interesting person. The Varnish is actually my favorite bar, every time I go there I gush to people about how the bar is in the Milk and Honey lineage (naturally, nobody has any idea what I'm talking about.)

I think she pulled the book from other sites because for authors of books with small distribution they don’t make enough money from sites like Amazon which really robs the author of most of the profit, sadly.

I love this book. My wife bought it for my birthday because of your recommendation. I’ve been fascinated by the Gin & It cocktail and it was clearly a favorite of both Sasha and Georgette. Unfortunately, the book’s recipe is listed without details on specific ingredients or even recommendations for them. All it says are “Gin” and “Sweet Vermouth.” I can’t seem to find any reliable answers via google search nor does David Wondrich have a recipe in Imbibe for this classic cocktail. Do you have any ideas/insights on this? Old Tom gin or London Dry? Carpano Antica, Cocchi, or something else? Thanks! You two do amazing work.

I have heard Sasha’s name so many times on your channel (and on How to drink), made many of the delicious cocktails and thought to myself there has to be a book right? Interesting story, excellent cocktails and high standards?? Gotta be a book out there. This was maybe six months ago mind you. Couldn’t find anything, but in Early Feb I found the book and ordered it. I didn’t see your episode that mentioned it until after I got it. I love the art work, I’m diving into trying the drinks and I have already learned so much about method and technique. I thought your review was heart felt and I really enjoyed the episode. May I suggest at the end of your vids that you do a sneak peek of what your next book would be so we can join the club?! Thanks & keep up the good work!

What would be the 2-3 books to start with? What are the 3 books that have influenced most of your style to make drinks? Maybe even ideas for next episodes?
@freepour
@freepour 4 года назад
Yeah I could do that. This one though is definitely in the top three. Maybe sippin safari by Jeff beachbum berry, Aviary cocktail book, also so so many old ones such as the Bon vivants guide, savoy cocktail book, the flowing bowl, Harry’s Abcs of mixing drinks...tbh I have more been influenced by my mentors than bar books but I do read them all
