I really enjoyed the episode as it gave me insight into another type of foliar spray that would use a different set of organisms (fermenting ones) as opposed to the typical aerobic ones promoted in the soil food web train of thought using biologically complete compost to make an extract or a tea. I appreciate and also adhere to the concept of using what you have on location. I always learn so much and love your podcast! Thanks Susan and Nigel!

These techniques sound very much like Korean Natural Farming (KNF) techniques.

I clear away fallen fruit so insects don't complete their life cycles. Perhaps Plums have more pests here.

We do the same! But Nigel gives us another option: ferment the fruit (and the bugs hiding inside), extract the liquid, and use it to spray our fruit trees. I can't wait to try!
