Reggie, you will be missed. This guy stood as an example for everyone to roll with the punches, not take things too seriously, and above all else to have fun. He made the very existence of many games more fun simply by talking about them, and while it may or may not be an act the real point was to have fun being a part of those games. Reggie brought that to life, and I don't think anyone can ever truly replicate the way he did it. Reggie has made me laugh, smile, and frown. He's made me excited, confused, disappointed, and apathetic. He's stood by some of the worst things Nintendo has done in their history with video games, and been a part of showcasing some of the most delightful experiences that the company has ever produced. My jaded cynicism leads me to believe that it's a hollow act and that this is obviously a character. That said, Reggie could genuinely be the eccentric manchild that we all adore. Regardless, I don't think I'll ever be able to differentiate Nintendo of America from this guy, and I think all of us got to have at least a little bit more fun than we would have without him. That's what's important, and that's what I think we'll all be looking back on a decade from now...and I am MORE than okay with that!
I don't think of was an act at all. You'd have to be truly passionate to talk about games the way he did for so many years. I'm sure he was "casual" but that he still truly loves the games he talks about even if it's just because he knows the joy they bring to people
This is the face of man who has been having the time of his life. We all know deep down that we want to follow his example. I too am about kicking ass and taking names. Even now, my body is ready for what comes next. As long as the game is fun, I don't care what I play in life. I could be a delivery man, a doctor, or even a pizza chef. But deep down, I like to believe that we're all polygons and pixelations. Mario said it best, "Thank you so much for playing my game!" Reggie stepped up to the plate aware he too would someday feel this within himself. The credits are rolling on his time at Nintendo, but his game hasn't ended. This man is a perfect example of positivity and effort and care, all in one, just to do a job that needed to be done, and many dream of doing. The day eventually came when this legendary person announced his retirement from Nintendo and entrusted it into new hands. It seemed out of place for this to happen; why would one pass this up? I say part of playing fairly is to share and take turns, and he's a man of his word. He's played by the rules, and now he's onto the next adventure. As someone who has only been alive for nineteen years, I gladly accepted this and am happy to follow this same philosophy. I hope to someday come into contact face to face with him just so I can thank him for everything he has done in the past, in the present, and everything he will do. Reggie may be going on to greater things, but his legacy, his legends, his myths shall never be forgotten.

So many video game execs are fake, but we all love Reggie, because you can so easily tell he's always having fun and enjoying his job, not just trying to sell copies.

Please help #freemelee around 2014 Nintendo needed the melee community because the wiiu was failing and they were desperate for grass roots help. At the time they instead were hitting RU-vidrs for posting content so they could get in on the monetisation they were that desperate. But now they don't need them anymore with the success of the switch they have turned there back on the melee community. Over and over again Nintendo has stopped melee from growing and they choose a pandemic to show there true colours shutting down the scene and the only way to play the game online. I hope you enjoy the bad press and alienating the people that were there at your time of need. There will come a time when maybe your console or product just isn't that good and you might need those people again and they won't be there. #freemelee

The Reggie era of Nintendo was an honor to be a part of, but man do I miss it. That man singlehandedly marketed Nintendo properly for a whole generation.
