Man Reggie deserves a lot more credit than he gets for staying loyal to the pacers and making them relevant. Who was checking for the pacers before he showed up? And when he retired they went back to being irrelevant lol. Got offered a chance to go play for the lakers in his hometown with other stars, turned it down just because he wanted to win a championship in a place that never won one. He's better than me cause I would have dipped when they burned my house down.
+James Guevarra spike is an imateur wack fucking director...wow a couple movies tht were decent he made..the only spotlight he gets is from being courtside rather than make more great films
packerd00 John Stockton played for Utah for 19 years Reggie played for Indiana for 18 years Most two loyal player in the NBA history Love the Miller Time To DEATH
I remember watching the NBA playoffs on NBC as a kid. The Pacers always seemed to be in the mix and his games against the Knicks were some of the most entertaining of all time. Too bad he never got a ring
People forget how good he was because Jordan was just after him he was crazy . I think Jordan just had a bigger personality and lucky he had great players around him.
He is not the greatest player/shooter or stats/ titles But his killer instinct, royalty, competitive attitude, dedication for a franchise and all his big time performance even the trash talking, made him a epic legend that you can hardly find anyone like him nowadays. Old Pacers fan would know what I mean.
+TheIncredibleTrueFanofLogic You have no glue what You're talking about? He's not the greatest shooter? He is the the 2nd leader of 3 point shooting in NBA history!
@@walrus1074 Not just basketball but music, movies and other sports too. For example Michael Jackson dominated those decades and boxing was also entertaining with Mike Tyson etc...Those years were entertaining...
It's okay after that game the pacers went to game 7 against the bulls (going to game 7 against the bulls was very rare almost unheard of) and Micheal jordan scored 38 points and pipen scored 33-35ish they completely destroyers them
I HATE how he is not in NBA 2K. I understand it's just a video game haha but I need to play him! But when 2K makes legends teams and they put patrick ewing and the knicks but not their rivals the pacers its like what are you doing 2K
It's all about contracts and if certain guys don't want to be in the game, they don't sign the form, there's just nothing you can do. Since Reggie retired in 2005 he has never wanted his likeness used in videogames so sadly there are never classic Pacers teams. Charles Barkley is the same way, and Andrew Toney never signs up to be on the classic Sixers either. What can you do...
The one person I've always noticed that never signs the contract anymore is Bryon Russell....he doesn't want people schooling him with Michael Jordan over and over clearly. It's like he wants to forget he was in the NBA.
Current players don't sign anything, they are part of the National Basketball Player's Association, when 2KSports, or any other company, purchases the rights to the NBPA license for the year, they are able to use all of the players within the NBPA. 2Ksports doesn't add those more recent teams because they pretty much cap themselves out financially on the teams that they do have, it's a lot of extra players to pay when you think about it. As for deceased players, some type of Power of Attorney to their estate might sign something? I mean plenty of dead celebrities continue to make money years after their deaths, it's up to somebody to handle likeness use.
Much Love Reggie ......I grew up on Larry, you and Draz and I consider you three of my favorite shooters of all time along with Steph and Ray Ray.....I love all Shooters but Reggie you always took my breath away with the difficult shots you made look easy. I loved your views on Draz and agree he was one of the best.
Im glad they didn't call that push off on jordan.. thats how the game should be played nowadays.. notice how none of the bulls players were crying to the refs after the play??
Glad to have been a big NBA fan in the 90s. It's right now of how much I appreciate Reggie Miller the most (as well as Malone/Stockton) for bringing competitiveness out of not only Jordan and the Bulls, whom I loved the most, but to him and the other great stars of the era. He really deserved not a ring, but at least two.
I am the Pacers fan as long as I watch NBA, and it was like that even during the golden 90-es.It is sad that Indiana didnt build around such a fantastic player...Even as Pacers didnt have a truly contending team, Reggie stayed with them and produced great games...Such loyalty is a very rare thing, especially nowadays...The guy was legend.
@HootyHoooo didn't even know about the brawl stopped watching the nba like 2001 or something just saw it on RU-vid and damn Stephen Jackson does not play when comes punching fans
Matthew Tingle Thats got nothing to do with being clutch. Winning a title isn't easy, not even in high school. There are a lot of factors that go into it. I feel though, if he had one more high caliber scorer with him he could have done it. They pushed the Bulls to the brink in 1998. John Stockton was extremely clutch too, and never won a title. He might not be the greatest clutch performer, but he's definitely up there.
Love 80s and 90s NBA, great combination of talent and hustle, then in the 2000s it's all about hype. I blame ESPN for all the hype crap overselling the game
You nailed that, ESPN is to blame...Superstars aren't organic anymore. Its like everything they do and say is premeditated. I think thats what I miss, guys celebrating and having fun, not strutting around after a dunk looking like thugs n crap
There was no skill or talent during those periods, I Don’t know what kind of dumbfuck kid would think like this but once Allen Iverson Came In with his crossover he changed the game. We’ve never seen talent and skill like him. Michael Jordan, Larry bird, Isaiah Thomas, all those dumbasses are nothing compared to Allen goddamn Iverson.
I grew up watching bball in the 90s and loved the Pacers because they were always the underdog. I LIVED for watching Reggie take down the Knicks every year in post season. "Knick killer" is accurate lol!
He’s not in 2K because he’s not a part of the NBPA (Players Union). Same thing with Barkley if you haven’t noticed by now. Kinda crazy, considering they’re both analysts for the NBA.🤷🏽♂️
Haha but reggie wasnt clean he was 1 of the dirtiest players and shit talker.. but hes still one of the greatest of all times... i still hate him for that push off.. #Chicago
One of the cleanest and best franchises hmm? That brawl was pretty nice and clean. Im not going to mention Lance Stephenson because I think thats part of the game.
as i remember reggie was the biggest trash talker in nba history , i remember the games with the knicks when he trashtalked all the knicks team ask john starks what he thinks of reggie
This Man is underrated on the Shaq level! Think about it. When we talk "greatest guards" ppl just never even mention him! He's got the stats and the swagger, but just gets left out.
Man, he was clutch! I really doubt we'll see someone like him in the Pacers anytime soon. Also, what the hell NBA? 30 sec ads with no skip? Come on, that's awful
reggie is so underrated a top clutch player and shooter of all time who was consistent with league leading records and always a threat in this east... if only it wasn't for MJ.. GO PACERS
Same! I was a Knicks fan growing up so I considered Reggie and the Pacers bitter rivals at the time. Once he retired and the rivalry ended, I realized the playoffs and battles would not have been as amazing as they were without Miller there.
They need permission from the players to use them in the game. This is why Reggie Miller, Charles Barkley, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and more aren't in the game.
I really wish certain players got to play in today's game. Reggie is one of them. He would've averaged more PPG in today's NBA if he were averaging 10 3PA's a game. He definitely would've made a lot more 3's I'm his career(same with Ray Allen) And as good a player and scorer that Reggie was in the regular sesson, he seemed to always step up his game in the playoffs. It's too bad he never had a true #2 running mate. By the time Jalen Rose was there Reggie was older.
