I think that these videos should be preserved for historical purposes down the road. As an antique playing card collector and historian, I’m having to piece together the history of a certain brand through old newspapers and collectors and other card historians because all of that information has been scattered to the four winds throughout time. If you compile and preserve it now, you won’t run into the same problems I am experiencing 100 years later.
I plan on leaving then up for as long as RU-vid will let me and have them backed up on a hard drive. I agree, I also think it would just be cool for people to see old talks with people before they blew up etc!
@@reggie_the_cardist1663 I listened to you and that's great to have your opinion. You seem passionate about the art, but I feel like you are wrong. You do not have permissions, so don't do it. And it's even worst when cardists directly tell you that they don't want you to put up this videos. It's not like you are creating anything new, you're just reposting videos that are not meant to be watched. I also feel like you're complaining of some cardists... but you started doing yourself and that's your problem. Anyway, to me hidden videos are hidden for a reason (and even if there is no reason, the cardist has its reasons) and you are just going against everyone. But you seem to find somebody knowledgable and hearing your thoughts was important to me, thank you for speaking about it
@@valovanonym first of all I want to clarify I’m not complaining about the cardists asking for their videos to be taken down, more th at I’m disappointed that they are not who I thought that were. Yes I created the problem myself, but whatever problems are gonna come along the way even if their on me I should be alowed to be upset. Sure some cardists might have reasons to take down videos, but these videos make up the history of cardistry and personally I don’t feel they have a right to take them down without an actual reason (and there are some I can accept). That’s the problem with intellectual property lol, anyone can claim the ownership of a video. Is it the editing software used to make it, the platform uploading to, or the camera used. Anyway I get that you feel that cardists deserve rights to their videos but o just want to reach a point where both the owners and viewers are happy. If you wanna talk more my dms are open :)
