Lets be thankful nalang at pumayag si Mandy to share a stage with another artist. Sa stature ni Mandy at that time, she can easily say NO. It only means that shes also a nice person. Lets not bash her.

Mandy is such a sweet girl and kind Regine said in an interview she's very lucky to have Mandy,Mandys huge success at that time was very prominent and Mandy knew that she's a belter Mandy said just go girl take the song to the highest level, stop comparing them.
Mandy requested Regine to join her to perform because Mandy was sick during this time. Regine had no time to learn the song, thus, she didn't know much of the lyrics. This was a last minute request from Mandy Moore.
This isn't a competition but Filipinos in the comment box are acting as if this is some kind of battle of the voice between Mandy and Regine. I personally love Mandy's voice but I don't think it's enough reason for me to diss Regine. It saddens me that some Filipinos need to drag others just to brag their country's pride. I am a Filipino too so it such a disgrace to see comments dissing Mandy by my countrymen.
I remember this! Inabangan ko din talaga ito before. Yung mga kapitbahay nateng artists may solo prod nyan. Medyo ka disappoint pero at least duet ni Mandy si Regine at last performance.
regine is so versatile!! we all know that she's voice is so powerful.. and she managed to make it tone down for the entire song except when she belt a little bit... :))
Regine deserved a solo performance that night. But don't get me wrong, I also love Mandy and Regine herself said in an interview that Mandy was really so nice to her despite how popular she was that time. It's just that Regine just really deserved a solo performance in which she could showcase her vocal prowess. This is prime Regine, the best and most powerful voice in Asia. I wonder why they had to make her just a back up for Mandy. Maybe this is what Regine said before about the discrimination against Filipino singers in the Asian scene, espcially female ones. That's why she's the only Filipino that time who was able to really penetrate Asia, albeit she left the scene too soon.
Regine is Phillipines powerful vocalist. She is great in her kwn way. Mandy on the other hand is just a normal singer who happens to have a number of hits back in the days and great at acting too. So can we just appreciate both of them. We both know there is no need to compare them vocally.
Regine's mic. was turned to the lowest volume in order for her voice not to overpower mandy's singing voice. It's just sad that MTV did not give Regine the chance to perform on her own.. a "SOLO" number. I just wanted more. I just wanted all the people out there to be mesmerized by her vocal prowess :-) Though the performance is good, its not really her. There could be more from her:-) I love them both :-)
I still remember when we first heard the Regine will perform with Mandy, we really waited for this show.. we're so proud for her that she didn't even gave an effort to sing the song but Mandy's like trying so hard for the highest pitch..
2:17 at 2:52 Hindi naman sa pangaano but Mandy dodged a lot of notes here. Medyo messy yung performance. Kulang sa rehearsal. The saving grace of course was Regine at 3:06.

Even at the peak of Reg's ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh woaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh on this duet... I still think it was too far from her comfort zone, and that's the highest of highs. It became very obvious that she was bored to death.
Makikita mo yung pagiging professional ni Regine V. Hindi rin sya masyadong nag paka OVER. Kahit sa Pinas kung may ka duet siya never niyang nagwawala syang parang Baka na ina outcast niya yung ka duet niya.

i love regine. she can really beat mandy there and made the song CRY higher but she did not. out of respect with the orig. singer. but they both performed well. NICE. ^^,
