Regionwide Global Consent for Fish Passage Remediation Programme | Auckland Council 

Auckland Council (Healthy Waters Department) seeks to remediate thousands of fish passage barriers across the region. Given the scale of the programme, location of the barriers (within and adjacent to streams) and the nature of the works, applying for individual resource consents for each project would be time consuming, costly, and result in delays to implementing the programme. A 35 year consent was obtained to enable the remediation works to be undertaken in a flexible, cost effective way while implementing environmental best practice and ensuring oversight from mana whenua and Auckland Council.
