Getting Eula in 1.5 and pretty much never using her to this day completely changed my pulling mindset from "pull for waifu" to "pull for waifu IF they are good"
@@miguelangelcosiorangel2617 I guess it does come full circle since good characters make it fun. Interesting mechanics are fun but if they're weak I never end up using them. Like Eula's burst is fun to pop but physical is just so bad that I never find myself using her.
@@Nole2701 That's a fair point but not necessarily true, my favorite character is Dehya and i play her as a carry a lot despite how weak she is, and i think that even though we play teams for strength sometimes you also like to experiment or play something unorthodox so a character being weak doesn't mean is boring to play in my opinion. Btw nice pfp Durarara is such an underrated anime.
So me bestie! I pulled for her when she came out, which ruined my opportunity to get Kaz, and now days i dont even want to touch her, fortunately i got kaz at the start of 5.0! And now i pull for waifu IF good at least or because the character is busted, cuz I want Nahida and she is busted
I used him for a year and I might consider a refund. The guy hogs and rides on the coattails of 3 supports which I can use seperately in many other teams. Outside of vape, his dendro/electro/cryo reactions are limited since his hydro uptime is limited by his cooldown.
@@apanaama3703 with Mavuika you will probably find there is more room for Childe to work without hogging the best supports- although tbf you can still run him in quite a few teams but then again I don't min-max my account

@@apanaama3703 Yeah, I feel like Childe's entire life has been kind of cope around his how they made his cooldown system. Arlecchino does it so right even with a long cooldown herself because it counts in almost exactly the opposite way. Arle's cooldown starts big but shortens with high field time is the exact opposite of Childe's which starts manageable but gets longer with field time.
i agree with zaj take on characters who appear less can be better than "main" characters, but i thought neuv, furina, alhaitham or venti for example were consistent and interesting even though they were present through entire archon quest
I am surprised how many people dislike chlorinde. I have so much fun dashing around with her and she carries me really good through all content (c0 r1). On top of that super comfortable to play with the self heal, the amount of number is satisfying and u can do so many reactions with her. Both overload and quicken teams work. I double crowned her and regret nothing.
yeah, she was one of the most fun characters i got recently, i started playing her as much as i play Keqing, and sometimes even more, because she has more team options. I never get tired of her animations.
i like her too! very braindead and comfy, i lost to jean on her banner and played her again on IT and i was having so much fun despite IT being so bad. so yeah I'll try to get her down the line for sure
I am currently building and testing an on-field dps Shenhe with Chongyun, Xiangling and a flex slot. Is it good and Abyss worthy? Lol no. Is it fun to play and a good excuse to play Shenhe more? Hell yea. Swap Xiangling for Dehya or Furina and put in Xianyun for a Shenhe plunge team! 😄
Zajef's chat is always so cringe. Everyone can like and dislike whoever they want, but to say that Navia has no personality is really one of the worst takes of all time. Yes, she is the "nice girl" archetype, but being an archetype doesn't constitute a lack of personality. You don't need to be edgy to have personality, which can also be shown through actions, which was done with Navia throughout the whole story where she acted based on her own motivation and interests, rather than just to move the story forward. Zajef finds her personality boring, probably because she still is just a "good" and "nice" character, which is okay as it doesn't appeal to everyone. However, she was well written and has more personality than 95% of characters in this game.

Commenting again to say that I've never really thought about it until now that the more a character shows up in the story the less interesting they can get Because Genshin does do this specifically with filler events, they just add already good characters into them then give them very cringe dialogue and it just leaves a bad impression behind
Its me with shenhe, her first appearance on an archon quest is such a cool badass girl with a dark vibe surrounding her, like she is a human raised by adeptus with uncontrollable desire and emotion getting hold by a singgle string constantly having nightmares learning about human live through yunjin and the trveler, and then she shows up again in the last lantern rite and just doing something boring like girl!!!!!, cmon she becomes a gooner bait for people to purchase her skin

I unfortunately could never related of regretting a character, the biggest reason is I only get Who I want anyway, but I can understand why people do regret Their pulls sometimes

I regret Nilou, her restriction is stupid and I never play her. Everytime I have an inkling to play her I go to put kazuha on her team...realize you cant do that and just take her off entirely.
I also can't relate, as someone who constantly plans out my pulls even when I regularly spend. Pulling all the characters I want because of their story/character in game and then pushing them to be as strong as possible. I knew Dehya would be shit and I still pulled not only her C1 but her weapon too. Can't feel regret if I already know who I'll like.
same, I have 12 limited 5 stars after playing for 2 years and I would get every single of them again if I started playing today. The only regrets I have are Homa and The Great Magic, which I got trying to get Aqua and lost both times, never getting Aqua for my Childe.
C2 Dehya is probably one of my favorite characters for now because I love using her as pyro app and reaction trigger. (It's amazing for kinnich and Emilie)
I'm getting flashbacks to Zajef trying to play burgeon Dehya against a ruin guard and the pyro proc happening to high to hit the seed 😂 that said the increased time of interruption resist would be nice to have. I'm just 1 lost 50/50 away so maybe it will happen lol.
Zajeff has always had a pretty interesting 5 star character roster, he has some characters I wouldn't expect a numbers tester to have and some that I would but I'm interested in what other peeps in the comments here would want to pull for still or regrets pulling for me I still really want Childe and Wriothesley and I'd 100% want to get rid of my Eula and Itto Dang I guess I'm part of the 1% who have Ayato and wouldn't refund him for anything, I just like his design and play style despite it being not too strong. The skill is just very satisfying to me.
Wouldn't refund Ayato, his skill is so cool. Same for Childe, he is the coolest. Would never refund my Itto, carried me through much endgame. Glad I skipped Eula, Wriothesley, Cyno, Klee

Also Ayato keep is so valid for me I'd refund my Itto purely because I've been trying to build a mono Geo team ever since I pulled him but just never get around to giving it my full focus
@@SleepyKurisu Yes, i had Ayaka already. Wriothesley is one of those characters I LOVED in the story but his kit looked so underwhelming that i knew i wouldn't have fun playing him.
@@hanshofer9458 that's completely fair, Cryo is just my favorite element and it hasn't really put out a character I like play style wise other then Wriothesley and I wasn't able to get him on his only banner so I just use my Ganyu whenever I absolutely need a cryo dps
@@SleepyKurisu for regrets Lyney and Alhaitham. After I got Arlecchino I was doing single pulls to try to get Xiangling c4 and got him 3 wishes in. Should've just waited for the shop (at least I didn't lose much) Alhaitham I got recently after I started cause a friend recommended him. But I felt weird using characters I didn't know, and had no idea where the Wenut was. By the time I got to the Sumeru desert I felt fine with DMC/Collei for hyperbloom and Tighnari for spread, and cringed at the idea of farming the Wenut. Now I have Nahida and don't feel any need to build him.
Literally I have Xilonen, Kinich, C1 Xianyun and none of them come even close to how great Scara is in exploration. It's a night and day difference and as someone who 100% every region I can't imagine not having him. In all fairness playing him without Zhongli is a MISERABLE experience lol
Every time I play Wanderer in a trial or event I find his flying mechanic incredibly clunky and awkward and doesn't last long enough. Maybe I'd get the hang of it if I actually had him but I have no intention to pull him.
I have a fully built Ayaka, Alhaitham, Xianyun and Navia whom I never use at all and Mualani is soon going to be part of that team. Increasingly finding that mid dps characters and godly supports are the most satisfying to build and play because you feel a sense of accomplishment.

Xianyun is great at doing that though, I’ve been having fun using her with Xilonen. But yeah I get what you mean, for me the only one I play is Alhaitham Furina QB just because its probably my fastest team, and if I had Navia probably would play her a lot too cus shes cool. A carry is only worth what you think of them, shown no clearer than with Ayaka.
My only regret is klee, i got her cause of my wish addiction back in 1.5, one day before kazuha's release, cause of that i had to wait a long ass time for his rerun

I would never refund Ayato. He's still an incredibly reliable Hydro driver for my account especially in Bloom-related teams. Having near-permanent Hydro application is just really nice to have in various situations. If I want to play Nilou bloom or Hyperbloom, Ayato is right there and doing a damn good job.
Clorinde in Omega Regret is why I don't strictly adhere to only N3E with her. You only do that, you may find her boring. You treat her like a gun character who can move around a lot, you may have a TONNE of fun. Silver is the one with glasses? Brother they BOTH have glasses!
honestly I am at a point of collector, so i dont regret anyone. Sure I dont use klee ever, but i like to bust her out every summer and explore with her and just have fun. Plus eventually alice will release and i want them to be together. Plus genshin has like 80 characters, half of which are 5 stars. If u think i can play all of them, thats absolute insanity so I dont let it get to me that I dont play x character often.
i always think i will get tired of childe, but then we get these battle events with a lot of small enemies where he turnes the whole arena into a washingmachine. I'm just way to addicted to those hydro chain reactions.
You have to like Navia's Golden Retriever energy to really click with her. That said, thank the Archons Xilonen came out and is mostly a quiet idle character.
I feel like Arlecchino's animated short ruined her story quest because the short basically gave us all the lore from the quest except it's just pure eye candy meanwhile the quest is just dialogue heavy until you can unlock her boss fight
Navia trial in act 5 as a whole is to move on on what happened to her servants , that's and L take , she's easily top 5 characters personality in the game , she was amazing in the 4.8 event
Video title is misleading, because there is a difference between "I reget pulling for this character" and "I will refund it now if I could". Like for example Hutao, Ayaka, Raiden all benched at this moment, but they were the goats when they were released. Hutao didn't become weaker (unlike freeze teams, Snejnaya will make it great again Copium), it's just new characters more fun and convinient to use.

i don't tend to regret characters but i have regrets of primos spent if that makes any sense. ayato and kinich took me to pity twice and that makes me feel like i wasted resources and i'm going to expect more of them whereas i won my 50/50 on klee and wanderer back to back so they can just sit and look pretty and i don't have any regrets. they were also characters that i pulled out of boredom. i haven't even built klee properly, just ran her with nahida and burned overworld enemies for fun and the lore accurate klee experience
YESS THE ARLECCHINO LORE TAKE FINALLY SOMEONE i was so disappointed with her story quest and how it "redeemed" her. it also made me dislike lyney to the point i want to forget about this story, i think he's too seasoned to be delusional enough to think of the orphanage as a real loving family. lil bro you're a fatui agent and your heart is gonna get you killed. i was salty for the whole patch. i wanted arlecchino to be a ruthless bitch, an absent father figure, a stoic harbinger without a heart. i like that she's better than crucabena though, leave experimenting on kids to dottore and bloodshed to childe but her story quest made her seem almost like a caring mom that works behind the scenes so nobody learns that she actually cares deeply about the poor orphans that she sends on dangerous missions. fontaine as a whole was not brutal enough for me, they kept edging us with deaths and tragedies but it felt like nothing actually happened, all was resolved yay happy ending. i get frustrated and then have to remind myself that genshin is family friendly, they don't kill off characters because they want to sell them and nothing really matters because friendship is magic
I love that she actually cares about them. As far as she is concerned (as a fellow orphan) the best way she can protect these children is with the power the fatui provide. I think she would end up a pretty shallow character to just be crucebena 2.0
I feel like I'm okay with her caring with the orphans, but I gagged at how she just "killed" traitors by just erasing their memories. Her ruthless determination to kill those that try to leave was one of those things that I found very fitting for an amicable villain. It emphasized an extremely possessive paternal instinct perfectly. She was "Father". And it emphasized how she was to be feared and obeyed for one's life even at her kindest.
The only character I've ever fully regretted was Albedo. That guy simply does not function. The flower does not work. If a boss looks at it, it breaks. If it spawns too close to a boss, it breaks. If you stand near it by accident, you lose a chunk of time. Albedo is just straight up dysfunctional. I've got a bunch of other characters that I never use, but I don't regret them bc I got my 10 mins of fun with them. But Albedo is a nonstop source of frustration. Unfortunate bc him as a character is neat, but his kit is so badly designed
His burst not scaling with defense was a boneheaded design decisions. His flower breaking is something I can work around and I have even taken advantage of his elevator in combat on purpose. Especially with really tall or flying enemies. He also has one of the better characterizations in the game.
Yeah he's really weirdly designed. The split scaling on his burst/skill, the flower being such a core part of his kit and breaking so easily, and of course he has cons that focus on plunge damage for some reason. You can really tell he was designed during a time when they had no idea how to balance their characters. They really thought people would actually use the elevator for plunge damage but then they put a timer on endgame content :/ All that aside, what really annoyed me was that instead of going back and fixing all the issues with him, they just gave Chiori his kit but without the issues. Sure her skill can't snapshot and has a smaller radius, and sure she can't buff EM, but in practice she ends up being better than him like 95% of the time. It's the only case a direct powercreep I think this game has. I guess they were afraid of weird issues with bosses getting stuck on or around geo constructs, but man does it feel unnecessary that they break so easily. And not to mention his model was one of the ones that were pointed out for being noticeably weird-looking. Albedo fans really got shafted lol I don't necessarily "regret" getting him, I wish Hoyo would just fix his issues.
5:58 "Double Hydro died in Sumeru" WHAT????!!!! What drugs is that chatter on???!!!!! Sumeru is where Double Hydro was pushed into the meta as a mainstay staple 😂😂😂 3.0 is when Hydro Resonance was changed from an Incoming Healing Bonus increase (🤢) to the chad Max HP increase that it is today. That patch solidified Double Hydro as Hu Tao's best team because it buffed her damage and Yelan's damage and made Zhongli/Thoma's shield tankier. Then Hyperbloom, whose best team is Double Hydro. And, or course, Nilou Bloom, where having 2 Hydros is what allows Nilou to even hit the max HP threshold for her Bloom damage boost. Litetally the worst take I've ever seen from a chatter holy...
I love my Wriothesley wholeheartedly and my hopium is off the charts for Snezhnaya. Please let cryo shine. I might even pull the archon for him even if I end up disliking her design.
I fully agree with Zajef on the Arlecchino story take. She was so much cooler as a mysterious vilain, imo her story quest significantly damaged her character. I was rolling my eyes the entire time while playing through it.
Itto eula and yoimiya for me. Thing is i already knew they're pretty bad but still pulled just because i wanted to test how it feels to pull solely based on feelings. It's terrible
ngl I have Yoimiya and use her religiously- I also really want Eula. TBH though it is more that I know I can do enough of abyss without sweating and most of the game is farming and story/exploration. When powerful characters are just "can clear the game even faster" all I care about is being able to clear.
I regret Navia. I realize I never really enjoyed her playstyle and would rather just continue the Unga Bunga. I still end up using Itto in a lot of situations despite having her. She's locked up in the basement with Eula never to see the light of day ever again.
Another "based" take: EN Wrio had some of the most awkward voiceacting and voicelines in the archon quest when speaking to other characters and isn't remotely a good example for what Zajef was trying to highlight about him lol. There's much other better examples in the game, especially now in Natlan.
my problem with shenhe as a non shenhe haver and a rizzley haver, is that at this point i feel very strongly about her being replaced by some other 5* Cryo support in Sneznhaya

The only character I regret is Ayaka. Used her sparingly, then got permanently benched. I dont regret Ayato even tho I rarely use him nowadays. Would refund Hutao. Her only saving grace is that I got her c1 early
Tsaritsa is literally the only character that shouldn't be evil , her entire purpose is to delete celestia which are the final biggest villain in the game

6:16 that is just the copest thing. Yelan furina is objectively so much better than xingqiu furina because furina means you automatically have healing This xingqiu bias kills me. Because i dont even have yelan and i still almost never use xingqiu. Not only does he manage to find reasons to play xingqiu where you dont even need high hydro app or defensive utility. He manages to phase yelan out of her optimal teams aswell And ir you're not giving yelan a damaging weapon like stringless for her double hydro teams and adjusting her ER. Then OBVIOUSLY shes not gonna do enoygh damage to feel better than xingqiu
I have Ayato. I got him "by accident" trying to get some Sucrose cons when he released, but I don't regret getting him, his gameplay is fun and he carried me a lot when I started playing Abyss. Even if he is not as nearly as good as he was on release, I still like him On the other hand, rhe characters I regret the most for pulling are Nilou and Clorinde, their gameplay are really chuncky
Navia's characterisation might not be the absolute best, but her combat voice lines are great. Out of everybody she sounds like she's having the most fun on field.
I have the opposite impression of Arle (I mean to each on their own. I love her more after she’s humanised) but I do agree Hoyo’s writing and drip marketing is very inconsistent that leads to people having vastly different expectations of the characters.
You could "Star" your characters and sort them in the character selection screen in the abyss. That way Sucrose would be higher up if you "favorite" her. Edith says: I think it is called "Astral Mark". Works quite good.
What happened with chlorinde was she is on thundering fury, but her atk sands and electro goblet are ass so she’s on em goblet and atk sands which have much better stats but she does negative damage outside of quick bloom and I don’t feel like farming better artifacts
the character i regret the most would probably be hu tao. i really love her as a character but she just feels so bad to play. i also have characters like ayato and yoimiya but at least I've had my fair share of fun playing them in different teams. my hu tao experience was just horrible not to mention how long I've been farming crimson domain trying to get her a perfect set. she's also basically only played in one team with the same supports which made her kinda boring for me

No hate towards emilie va but i really hate how "mika" the voice is, i felt she would be a lot more dignified kinda like yelan, she also seems too mature for that voice
My regret character was Raiden. Came back at the end of 2.X and pulled all the metas, but never ever felt she was needed in any of my teams. Once dendro came she got overshadowed by Kuki of all characters.
For me I regret pulling Kokomi, Ayato and Xinque. Xinque was the most expensive out of all three If only I could get a refund for him. Surprisingly they are all from Hydeo element.
So you dont like a jack of all trade master of none type of characters, Kokomi and Ayato kinda like that. Your into "you have one job" type of character. Who's Xinque? You mean Xingqiu, the 4 star?

Probably my biggest regret is Ganyu. I remember people hyping her up on her debut and since I started around patch 1.5, I had to wait half a month for her. Upon getting her, I realized the charge bow playstyle is way too clunky for me and she’s pretty much benched. Second place goes to Childe.
i dnt regret hutao now after i got xilonen, but yeh i regret having wanderer and ayato... i feel like wanderer is just use for exploration and ayato for events.
I almost always use Wanderer for clearing the lower floors of Abyss since he is one of the best at it because he can target almost everything on the floor that spawns if he is in the middle and he has perfect projectile tracking. This makes him one of the absolute fastest clearing characters in the game taking only 1 cycle. However it is really really important to have c6 Faruzan. He is much much worse without her. He also requires high investment which can be burdensome but it does have a nice payoff.
@GreenHellTube Cyno really only has one team and two of his supports are the best supports in the game. Love the guy and playing the premium hyperbloom team but it's very greedy and Nahida and Furina are better used in other teams.

But the xingqiu variant isn't much worse and cyno becomes capable of face tanking everything with xq and Baizhu together, which is absolutely goated. Also, all the 5 stars in a team is never it for me. The long ass burst animations kill me
I have Ayato, Itto, Childe, and Ganyu all who I never use anymore. I would refund Ayato the most, then Itto and Ganyu, Ganyu not so much since I can pair her with Dehya & dendro to melt consistently and Childe is still super fun and satisfying to play despite me having C0R1 Neuvillette.
idk man, since furine release I never had a reason to play yelan again, maybe in exploration but even there wanderer is pretty similar while being more fun to play just by being a carry, I would put my yelan even lower
I used characters like Childe, Ayato, Ayaka, Shenhe, and Venti (got him way after his prime) a lot before I got so many characters that I just didn’t as much. The only character i’d say i regret is Cyno, and I regret him very much as Alhaitham released immediately after and is 100% the unit that Cyno should have been.
Feels like the reasoning of him being critical of characters and writing was not only super subjective but also hilariously bad. Every single person I’ve met who is this critical have been a miserable human being. Def not a place I wanna be
I'm probably the only person in this world who doesn't regret getting Ayato 🥲. I use him every abyss. And before anyone asks yes I have Neuvillette (C1 even).
I use a Clorinde team that I haven't seen anyone else use which is Raiden-Nahida-Baizhu-Clorinde. Because both Raiden and Clorinde have relatively low field time, they can both act as DPS in the team and share Nahida's and part of Baizhu's buffs. ER requirements become lower for everyone and you can use Raiden as DPS instead of a bloom bot, which IMO is very boring.
I regret getting Ayaka and Kokomi because at the time felt forced to have a good freeze team for Abyss, and realized I don't playing Ayaka and don't have any other use for Kokomi. I also regret getting Eula even though I got her with 2 pity. I'm too invested into Yoimiya as character to regret her even tho she's extremely bad, she has turned into kinda of a project to my account to one day make her able to clear abyss semi reliably.
Kokomi is INSANE this patch........ I'm currently running her with Furina + Kazuha + Xilonen. It's absolutely bonkers LOL. Her normal attacks are hitting for 20k noncrits a hit LOL.
I really hate this game sometimes. I finally got all the parts I needed for the Ayaka’s “meta” team (first it was Kazuha, then it was Shenhe, Shenhe’s weapon on accident and then Ayaka’s weapon on purpose, and finally Kokomi) only for it phase out of meta and not be used in abyss in most of 4.0. Surely I’ll have a use for Shenhe later though…hopefully.

Only true regrets I have are Hu Tao (I dislike her playstyle) and getting Engulfing Lightning for Raiden. My EL just sits on my account now ever since Hyperbloom Raiden became a thing. Not even Xiangling wants it since with my current artifacts The Catch just does more damage.
Eula was fine enough to play but she fell ooooooooooff, omega clunky to the point of being unplayable. Ayaka I actually pulled her and her signature only for her to feel like worse Ganyu (my first main) - I personally blame zajef.
@@PharmDiff Eula feels dogshit to play cuz all her damage is in her ult and if something goes wrong it's over. it's the shit damage + even shittier gameplay combo. Also regret getting Ayaka, even worse is that I also got Kokomi for her
as day 1 player ,it's still hard to find any characters that i regret pulling(even dehya) ,maybe because i didn't spend that much on this game to have regrets and game was too easy anyway once you have few OP supports .
