Great video, man! I got one and love mine too. It’s the sunburst model and think it’s a bit older than yours since it doesn’t have the bridge pins. Anyway glad you’re enjoying it. It’s my first Gretsch too and it may not be made out of spruce and mahogany but it plays nice and to me it sounds great. Thank you for an enjoyable review and demo!
I bought one of these guitars a oxen red burst with a beautiful chocolate brown fret board. I am a celtic player and is seems unusual choice but it sounds just brilliant for high energy celtic picking the tone is amazing. I replaced the tuners with Wilkinson on the bar as I feel the gretsch ones were woolly and drifted out of tune. I also lowered the action and levelled the frets due to a dead note issue on the 12 fret. I was going to replace the saddle and nut with bone but on dropping the gretsch saddle on a table it seemed to ring more than the bone so I kept them in place. This guitar is a fun guitar which is great for travel. I have a collection of guitars everyone of them has their own voice but Wee Nelly is the one that I grab the most. This guitar has soul and personality in spades which some expensive guitars dont have. I hope you will enjoy playing it for years to come.🤩👍
Celtic music is awesome! I play some blue grass and you can hear the Celtic influence in it. Thank you for stopping in💯. This little guitar will be staying for me as well👍🏻👍🏻
I own a dozen guitars and have been playing for over 60 years. Some people even say I'm pretty good. The point is I LOVE my new Jim Dandy. I tune & play it on open G Its not my Martin or my Epiphone EJ 200 , it's my Gretsch Jim Dandy and that is just fine by me...
