Let's see you do it then. Regardless, if you've ever had a heavy pack then you know that it can be strenuous, and now imagine lugging a giant and awkwardly shaped bike on your bike. Definitely lighter if you're used to the outdoors and in shape, but still not an easy task for hiking through the Grand Canyon.
Lael is such a badass, and such an inspiration. Writing this in 05/22. She just set a new record on that trail, only to have an asterisk stuck to it. Some envious allegations. Same as when she did the Tour Divide.
I’ve got so much respect for her!!! I’ve ridden the trans am and it ain’t no pickanick!!! I love her name too... I think I want my first granddaughter to be named Lael. Keep rockin young lady, I hope to meet you on the trail someday just so I can give you props in person.
This is great!! All the years i've been following these two I've never actually heard their voices cos' they don't make videos.Now I can at least put a voice to the photos.Make more videos.They are really inspiring.
I thought Darwin was cool, riding to the Grand Canyon, then hiking across while his bike was shuttled around, Lael is my hero for doing what she did. She should talk more about the bike she uses. Thanks...

I've never been so gutted for someone I don't know before. Living how you want truly inspiring go for it keep going for it and go back and beat that time next year

Nice video. I realize it's main purpose is to be a promotional piece for REI but it's really a shame that there are no credits given for the individuals who made it. It's not going to detract from the emphasis on the REI brand, don't worry about it. (Long time REI member and supporter.)

You seriously carried a bike down one side of the Grand Canyon and back up the other side? You must have super powers . Most people can’t do that hike under any conditions.
Chad Braunbeck there's many kind of cycling shoes where you don't feel you're wearing cycling shoes at all. But when it comes to riding your bike, it does make difference.
