I'm not much of a Doomsday player, but it does seem like Shingo chose a slow pile but it backfired.

many times you make a slow pile when there is little on board pressuring your life total. a Matchup like this is risky making a fast pile because they have multiple forms of disruption against you (hand hate, counterspells, endurance, wasteland). Building a doomsday pile a lot of times is a guessing game playing around which kind of disruption you can, or which you think is more likely. at the last play he fetched to get a 50/50 on drawing oracle or not, so it could have gone either way

I think that he might’ve thought that he has 1 more turn and went for a slow pile. Last card is Thassa. When he has realized that he doesn’t have that turn left, he hit the emergency button and fetched, hoping to draw thassa before the last turn, however, shuffle gods were against him and he drew the other card (cavern)

Ritualing out Sheoldred the apocalypse is an additional angle of attack post board in some matchups. Mainboard there is no backup plan, thassa's oracle or bust!

Sometimes win with Sheoldred, otherwise usually no.

They tried that but with the cards not "tournament legal" and priced (my guess) to not damage previously printed "reserved list" cards value. They also gave away many packs for FREE at MagicCon so far. I personally know multiple people were handed a pack for free and at least two opened power 9 cards. 30A caused some outrage. But from what I've seen, whales and players who received free packs seem to be happy with these rare collectible trading cards. Shrug. Not sure what Wizards will do going forward. -Chris
