To be fair, Isner is like 36 years old (12 years older than Opelka). And tennis fans would know 30s is considered 'past your prime' and generally the age to retire. If only Isner was the same age as Opelka, it would've been an interesting journey to see 2 giants go at it and then later on compare both H2H statistics.

And also way more tired by the previous matches that went the distance. It's quite evident he had no energies left, also reason why he forced himself to serve and volley in order to shorten points, and the tactic had mixed results. Difficult for him to return the insane kick ad serve with his weak backhand. He should have tried to take it on the rise rather than being pulled out wide. Easier said than done of course

Good parenting. They made him work on the strength of his legs from a young age. Anybody can have knee problems while carrying such height. Isner is far more impressive considering his age and longevity in this sport.

Loved watching this match, it felt like the intensity levels went from 100 to 0 after their serves. Two big men getting around the court in almost slow motion at times. Regardless outstanding final

Opelka is very dangerous. He can play on all surfaces and hang solidly on the baseline and whack some lethal forehand and backhand winners. Plus a huge serve coming out of the height of two trees, he's got to be one frustrating nightmare to play against.

Diego is amazing. I’m 5’7 and was convinced to abandon the game for squash when I was fifteen, told I was too short. Schwartzman shows it ain’t the size of the dog that matters. That being said Opelka’s serve looks by and large unreturnable for anybody not tall enough to reach it. His kick second serve is insane!

To be honest I really didn't mind who came out the victor but I really love to see the giant of a man play. Opelka is phenomenal. I love his game and he has a super fantastic serve. What's truly amazing (to me) is that while both their serves are powerful, Reilly's groundstrokes seem to have really come on in just the last year or so. He's hitting them so solidly, they have some real sting behind them. I really don't understand how even the top players are able to return serves like these. Because, it's not like you can find similar practice partners that will deliver for you some high kicking serves like these; how on earth do they train for THAT??? Mind. Blown.

Terrific tennis! Beautiful volleys from both players. Great return of serve from both players. I think it might have been earlier this year, but Opelka was fined $15,000 for wearing his hat during the trophy presentation. I saw him lift the trophy with his hat on. Just wondering......

Both really good players! Well done!!! Good fighting!! Congratulations Opelka! This match feels a bit like a slow motion version of many other ATP matches. These huge players hit hard but move really slow compared to other pros. Opelka is reasonably fast for his size. But Isner must beyond a dought be the slowest ATP active player right now. If Isner didn't give up going for so many balls he would probably get at least 30% of those "lost" balls back. But I guess he does it to save energy. Isner might get better if he worked on his speed and conditioning a bit more.

I left a comment earlier in this tournament that said, "if Opelka figures out how to use his height to his advantage, he will be unstoppable." Are we seeing this occur in real time. Some of those return of serves looked absolutely amazing. Opelka is going to give Alcaraz a run for his money to that number one spot.
