The less of a thing you have, the more valuable it becomes. Brian Nelson-Palmer challenges us to reimagine our everyday decisions through his unique approach on understanding the value of our personal time. "Time is the currency of your life, spend it wisely.”
At age 4, Brian was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, and was told that his life would be 10-20 years shorter than everyone else’s. Figuring out the easiest and best ways to maximize every minute has been a lifelong pursuit. Brian strives to maintain a high level of performance at work, while also thriving in his personal life. He is continuously asked, “How do you do it all?” and “How do you keep track of it all?” This is where Productivity Gladiator was born.
Brian has been a public speaker, instructor, and facilitator since 2002. His fascination with continuous improvement surfaced in 2005 when his workplace began extensively implementing LEAN process improvement. His passion for training came to the forefront in 2014-2015 while he was an instructor of several professional development courses. With Productivity Gladiator, Brian teaches workshops and speaks at conferences across the country on Work-Life Balance and Personal Prod This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Not everything should be measured in dollar value, but can be kept in mind as one part of choice making.

So many people need this talk. Employers are compensating us for our time as experienced people and so understanding our time value helps us weigh the hardships of different life decisions. thanks so much!

I figured out this principle about 10 years ago starting with saving coupons and with chasing gas prices (even searching for the best parking spot). But this enriched the understanding of the value of my personal time. Thank you!

I appreciate that this helps quantify what one's time is worth by the hour, but the point missed is not just to use that in time vs money decision making situations alone, but also use it to give you an idea/goal as to how much money you actually need to be earning by passive income by the hour.

Great talk!!! 👍 If I could I would give this multiple likes. I listened to it twice and even calculated my time value. I'll incorporate what I have learned in my decision making from here on. It makes a lot of sense. Some of the comments below are stunning. The only thing I would say... When the student is ready the teacher will appear.... Those not seeing the value in this great talk are probably not ready for this concept just yet. Peace to all✌️

What the actual job is? In time management there is a way we don't think about it we should be more mindful of. Time is money, but love in time has become some thing we should probably consider lust. Acuteness I've been saying so often lately-I've heard Mark Zuckerberg talk about each person having 24 hours per day. We use social media, and social media use popularly people will consider it not worth their time. Though how it is used, should it be used per person is different. Knowing intent is too cause intentions. Individualistic scarcity; when it comes to conversation. Whataboutism, if what we have to do we didn't have to do. Development in the making of a word, a name, so to speak it you won't know until you find out God is but who created it. What it takes to teach the word of God, what I'm saying is that I don't know how to explain, cannot even describe what I'm talking about-not going to act as if I cannot begin. There you have it, a conversation that goes nowhere, getting nowhere for who said it must be the one who got it gone done it and went through with goal set no one has ever will never-achieve as it were, the most acute destruction of ideas!
@teddydotson3727
@teddydotson3727 Год назад
All we have to do is get the Department of Labor to stop paying people by the hour. Stop letting everyone have a kid and speak the best we can for individualism for all, the difference in individualism and singularity. As well what it is to speak for oneself, about oneself to oneself!
