My favourite classical trumpet player. His musicality and knowledge about style is quite unique. He really gets the music alive and spontaneous. And he is one hell of an instrumentalist, too.
Mr Reinhold is one of the best orchestral solo trumpet player in the world! His Bandenburg No.2 with Abado is incredible ! But I must say I don't understand what he is doing with this rendition of his of the Haydn !? ff
Experimenting before a performance? I can an orchestral timbre to his sound, appropriate perhaps to being placed at the back where the brass usually sit. (yes, his Mahler 3 was truly great)
You are the one who is comparing one player to the another I will never do that! I said one of the best orchestral player. When you dare to criticize a guy like Reinhold, I thought I better make it clear I have a great deal of recpect for him or everybody will jump on me ! I just can not belive the style he did this portion ot Haydn, I hope you will agree with me ? Worth to listen his Mahler symphony's recorded with Abado...etc (Available on Netflix) Frank
I know that Nakariakov is among the greatest technical brass virtuosi of all time. Yet, for me, his interpretations are lacking in depth, uninteresting, drab. Most people are bowled over by his superb technique, but he leaves me cold every time I hear him.Don't get me wrong, I am a professional trumpet player myself and would sell my soul to the devil to have Sergei's ability though..........
