Cartaphilus. Also known as The Wandering Jew. Cursed to immortality by Christ himself due to his mockery of Jesus as he died. It’s a thing. Look it up.

Cartaphilus comes from a 13th Century English folktale; he does not exist in the Bible, and the New Testament outright says that Jesus forgave everyone who was present at the crucifixion.

The funny thing is that this scene has Cartaphilus outright say that he can't remember what led to him being cursed, making it ambiguous. Considering Cartiphilus originates from a 13th Century English folktale, and the New Testament itself says that Christ forgave everyone who was present at the crucifixion, I really like that the anime added an element of ambiguity to how Cartaphilus ended up being cursed.

Well, she's considered to be queen of the Fae, and her 'home' is a portal to a netherworld where all her people dwell. As a fae, she is also known to play trickery to mortals. Basically, the main lesson of the series is to NEVER trust faefolk!

Yeah. Fae folk follow an entirely different set of rules. Namely that they don’t think much of trickery and primary aim to amuse themselves. Fairy tales are full of children that get taken and, if they return at all, forever changed.

So, I thought Elias looked familiar: the skull head, horns, and lean body, along with his brief mention of once eating humans, sounded too familiar. I finally remembered: I think Elias is a Wendigo. Half-formed from both human and fae, like a werewolf, but shunned by one and mocked by the other. Considering that this entire show is filled with obscure mythological references (I.E, Cartaphilius the Wandering Jew), what's the harm in one more?

Actually I think she went to get her eye back. I would too. I just don't understand why they don't just cast the curse switch spell on Cartaphilus, Let him deal with the curses instead. I love how we call him that instead of Joseph.

She didn't go with Joseph, she went after him. When her body was taking in his eye, a part of him asked her to HELP him. So that is why she went after him, she was going to try and do what she promised to one of the fragments of Joseph, help him.

Nightmelody777 It’s pretty long so i can only give a summry It rovolved around Chise, a normal human born a slay vega (i think, could be spelling what she is wrong). It makes her born with a lot of magic and faires are attracted to her. Poor and alone, she sells her body and ends up being bough by Elias, a powerful magician/fairy of unknown origins. Then we see where they all end up. (Should be noted that what Chise is, they usually die during childhood. The magic they are born with overpowers how much their body can actually withstand. Elias is trying to find a way to keep her alive, while she is struggling to believe if her life has any value.)

Nightmelody777 He’s a fairy. Some thing he might be a wendigo, but he’s a fairy not a demon. I think what’s been implied so far, he used to be wild and caused a lot of issues. Humans can be curse to become animalistic or fairy-like, so they think a similar spell was used on Elias to make him more human like. It’s unanswered what caused him so far.
