I would like to see a video, on occasion, on this series with people who are not rich, but are doing "OKAY" and want advice on doing better. Maybe low-income but not in dire straits anymore. Think of these people as those who were on your show and actually followed the plan you laid out for them. Now they are still making the same income, but they want to know the next steps after digging out of debt. I know these people you invite on your show need more help by comparison, and I hope they continue to be your primary focus, but even Michael Bay movies have moments of laughter and sadness sprinkled in around all the drama and explosions.
I’ll take it a step further, spending $10K on tattoos while you have a kid - even if you pay cash and don’t use debt - is probably irresponsible (unless you’re earning way above the median which she is not)
Financed everything, 10s of thousands of stupid tattoos, mental health issues and an unplanned baby with a known deadbeat dad and she's 23. She's gonna be a real treat for the next man she ensnares
Took all of 10 mins to change from "he knocked me up and ditched us" to "i already knew he had kids when i had his and even though we broke up he still takes care of the kid" utterly comical
It was also a lil weird Caleb kept pushing about child support when they split the kid 50/50. Maybe he just wanted her to say it, but when you share custody equally there should be no CS.
It sounds like the bf was a super at the apt complex, which offered an apt on the premises once he was no longer needed at the job he had to leave. I'm not a detective or a genius 😂 but it sounds like the bf knew the end was coming and found a woman with her own place to move into . She's not placing him on child support bcuz I think she want to be with him still the fact that she replied with he's not with me when Caleb wasn't referring to the relationship with her it was his role as a father speaks volumes to me . She not only need financial help she need help accepting that break up as well
as a starbucks barista i see this episode and i feel sad. our coffee isn’t even that good 😭 we have so many regulars at our store and this episode is making me wonder how many of them are in debt. chocolate cream cold brew is alright (but the white chocolate macadamia is superior). cold brew is also really easy to make at home. buy a french press and make your cold brew in then fridge overnight. make the foam with some heavy cream, chocolate sauce, milk and some pumps of vanilla. i don’t wanna say the recipe but it’s definitely online somewhere. come on mamas!! you can do it
Been making my own cold brew for years and people are always blown away at how little I spend on it. Hell now you don't even have to make your cold foam!
I drove a Corolla and the kids' carseats took up the entire back. I didn't use a stroller and babywore because I needed the trunk for groceries and stuff. A stroller will take up an entire trunk. When I couldn't babywear any longer, we switched to a small umbrella stroller. None of that was fancy or especially convenient, but I haven't had a car payment in 20 years. She could have made do with one baby in a small car. She didn't want to. Also, as a first time mother, she probably bought on to the idea she needed more stuff than she had to have or could afford. Not everyone can breastfeed, but between ebf, cloth diapers, baby wearing, a convertible car seat, and led weaning, we spent next to nothing past the hospital copay type stuff for our second child.
I fit a car seat in a Dodge Neon just fine. Car seats are annoying and they honestly don’t fit well in cars. But the idea that you have to run out and buy an unaffordable car is insane. Use your problem solving skills, people!

@@ElinWinbladat least in Illinois the local government doesn't have a say in the amount of child support it's entirely an equation of time spent with the child and both parents income. If it's 50/50 then there is no child support ordered here.
Not in texas btw. Even “50/50” there is still a designated primary care person and the non custodial pays 20% for one kid (5% each additional) BUUUUTT, daycare costs are not split, the primary pays it fully. Texas courts will award 20%, ncp pays health ins, and parents split medical expenses regardless of custody split. Yeah, seems like most women end up doing this and since “we must believe all women” men are automatically guilty until proven innocent. Women are innocent until proven guilty.
And she says "the child that I have"! Such disconnected and distancing language. I've heard a couple other parents on this show use similar wording and it always makes me cringe.
I honestly think she just got depressed by the whole baby daddy situation and gave up for a bit then realized how bad it is. She seemed like she really wanted to sort things out and get straight. I loved her honestly and wish her the best. She’s got this! ❤️

Someone's slashin' her shit.

And all the artist at the shop having the inside joke that they will all tattoo her. Yeah, I get the feeling the joke they are laughing at and the joke she is laughing at are different jokes.
Let me get this straight. The guy is in his twenties and already had two kids. She knew this and still slept with the guy without any protection at all. Then blows significant portions of her income of wants such as tattoos? She has a real big problem with being able to make responsible decisions and can't take the accountability for her own terrible choices instead blaming her ex.
I had a friend who got with a female that already had 5 kids by...24 yrs old. 5 different fathers...hes the 6th..now years later I think she's at 8 or 9 kids ...no custody of any of them...😂 ppl are crazy!
That summarizes most western women these days. They've been brainwashed into believing they're all powerless victims of "The Patriarchy". But in actuality, the western world is far more of a Matriarchy, really.
Honestly I used to just think these types of chicks are braindead... then i meet the parents... especially fathers. If they're gone it's usually not a good outcome in the adult life of any kid male or female, but I've seen girls or women rather being treated like kids by their fathers and then wow, what a surprise, your 20yo daughter acts like a child when living alone after 20 years of you treating her like a child (not that moms are much better but usually they're the ones to be the soft loving forgiving parents, whilst with a father who's even more lovey dovey... yeah). Its very fascinating how these things that seem so harmless like daddy spoiling his little princess basically can completely destroy their lives as adults. And the worst part is, there's no growth being done as they blame everyone else but themselves... just like kids do. The older I get the more I see this.
As someone with a half sleeve and a husband with full, detailed sleeves, holy crap those tattoo artists LOVE ripping her off. She is their favorite, stupid customer to take advantage of. $1500 for some flowers is insanity.
Teaching kids how to deal with turning off the TV/iPad/Phone etc is ESSENTIAL parenting. If you kid flips shit when you turn off/pause the TV, that's a parenting issue not a finance one. There are plenty of videos/youtubes/tiktoks online explaining how to do it, but basically 1) Get their attention, 2) Get them to engage (whats Ms Rachael talking about now?) 3) Get them to say 'bye bye' and/or 'see you later' so it seems like THEY came up with the idea, 4) Turn it off. You just have to redirect them.
Someone who has their kid 50% of the time and then that time is reduced by full time daycare, then take away 11-13 hours of nighttime sleep. There is no time for RU-vid if you eat dinner with them, read them a book, bathe them, absolute bare minimum parenting stuff.
A really great tip I’ve learned about any sort of transition time, like turning off the tv, leaving the park, etc is to ask “do you want to leave/turn off/take a shower/brush your teeth now, or in 5/10/15 minutes?” For whatever reason giving a choice instead of a warning really results in a better rate or compliance and fewer tantrums I’ve found.
Caleb is confusing Alimony and child support, normally if it's 50/50 unless one spouse makes $30k more than the other there won't be any child support. Courts in many states are moving away from the weekend dad and ordering 50/50.
@@LuisRojas-mz2mgWhy are you being weird? Birth control exists. Condoms exist. If we pretend that abstinence is the only method to prevent pregnancy, the number of unwanted pregancies won't be going down. Family planning is something everyone should take seriously.
She seems really gullible. Having a child with a guy that has multiple kids already, getting a car she couldn’t afford because the dealership gave her two choices, and spending a lot on tattoos because the employees made a little game out of her getting a tattoo from each artist. I’m hoping she takes this wake up call and starts to question all those around her. She’s been taken advantage of and she’s going to be paying for it, literally. Wishing her the best!

This is the 2nd guest this past week that said they do subscriptions for a 1 year old. Two things 1) one year olds shouldn’t be watching that much tv anyway. By the time an ad comes up they’ve probably reached the screen time limit. Please do something else with your kids 2) they shouldn’t throw a tantrum from media consumption. This could be a result of them already getting addicted from too much screen time. But a true 12 month baby doesn’t usually have the attention span to watch ms Rachel for hours on end. And they don’t understand the differential between an ad and content. It just doesn’t mean THAT much to them These are just using this “my one year old can’t have ads” as an excuse to justify frivolous spending.
No, depends on income. On a tangent, leaving your 2 month old is crazy behavior. There’s no “50/50” with a newborn, the mom pretty much has to be around at all times for development purposes.

I love tattooes but I don't get people who don't understand that tattooes are luxuries like all other forms of art. No one needs a tattoo and you cannot complain about money problems when you choose to get a tattoo before getting everything else taken care of. Also, I'm not saying she's not a single mom and that the father of her child isn't a moron but 50/50 custody makes a WORLD of difference as a single mother. She has a good income at 23 and the father contributes, she has no excuses to have money problems.
@AmbuBadger She has plenty of redeeming qualities. Tattoos are never a turn off for me as long as they’re tasteful. At least she’s honest and has a cute face. If this girl reads comments, i hope she sees this one. There are SOOO many signs of depression in this episode. It might not look like it because she smiles and laughs, but to those who have experienced it its clear. She is too lazy to do things herself or at home because she has no motivation to do it. Her spending habits and choices of spending are a huge sign. She had a baby and got dumped when her hormones were still in the air, for many women who have never been rejected the first time is especially tough. Now she spends money to make herself feel better. Put all of this together with enablement form credit cards and you have a recipe for disaster. On top of that no decent guy probably wants to date her seriously with an infant and a whole lot of debt. This will be tough for her to get out of.
You do know that a large % of people today are shockingly lazy as a character trait that will never change, right? Laziness does not equal depression most of the time. Only if it's extremely out of character. So then it would be a Sign/symptom. Mental Laziness is a badge of pride for far too many. In my opinion only. 😅
I don't understand some people. If you don't want kids, use birth control. You're a consenting adult, force the issue. If neither party is willing to do the right thing, don't do the deed.
If he’s earning more, they’ll get him. Which makes sense because in a 2 parent household, he’d be paying in more. So if one makes $3000 a month and the other $4000, the higher earner owes $200.
What "expenses" are being spit exactly? Health Insurance Food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) Clothes Medications School supplies If he's only paying for things here and there, the cost of a child is not being split equally. #goodness

@Becanwal Nope. This moronic nitwit who cares more about her tattoos says "The Kid" because she's detached and doing the bare minimum and doesn't care much.

It’s annoying me so much how she refers to her child as “the child” and “the kid” almost every single time. It’s like she’s dissociating herself from her own child.
I had postpartum depression and I called my daughter "the child" a lot when she was first born. I was in the situation where her dad abandoned us in a really vile way though, no support or acknowledgement of my daughter from any of his family or himself. I think she has come up with the scenario in her head so she can cope with her bad choices. I can sympathise, but I agree she needs to grow up or give up the child.
Ya it's really bothering me, came to the comments looking for this. Why doesn't she say "MY"? Why is she trying so hard to distance herself from her own kid? Everything she says, she's so selfish and self centered. No worries about "THE child" only worries about herself. I watch a lot of body cam and interrogation videos so every time she says THE instead of MY alarm bells go off
