REKAP 🏈 Chicago Bears 21-16 Loss to the Colts - Offensive line, horrible - Shane Waldron is worse

This was an embarrassing loss for the #ChicagoBears today. The coaching staff made some terrible decisions in this loss. Coach #MattEberflus inexplicably burned a timeout in the 4th quarter to decide whether they were going to kick an extra point or go for 2. They also threw the ball 52 times behind an awful offensive line with their rookie quarterback.
#Caleb Williams did okay today. He threw for 363 yards and threw the first two touchdowns of his career. But he also threw 2 interceptions and had the ball stripped. But he seemed to settle in with #RomeOdunze and #ColeKmet as the game went on.
But Kap can't believe #ShaneWaldron asked his quarterback to throw the ball 52 times. He also called an RPO during a 4th down play at the goal line when that's not what Caleb does and isn't something they've done all year. Kap says Shane has been "horrible so far this year."

That’s the problem with the Bears. They run their QBs out before their head coaches. They got rid of Trubisky before Nagy and Fields before Flus. I think the organization is tired of having QBs that weren’t selected by their current coaches. That trend broke for Caleb with Flus. Bears can never get it right. When they have a defense, they don’t have an offense and vice versa. Their offensive line is horrible and play calling putrid like always. The McCaskey’s has ruined this franchise!! They need to sell this damn team!!!

That's the Bears for you. Velus show in week 1. Swift out there running for 1-2 yards per carry and the other backs getting more yards in the few attempts they got. They were watching him struggle the entire first half and insisted on him in the 3rd quarter. Our best production was in the 4th, when he basically didn't got to the field. Year in, year out, our coaches don't know how to scheme, gameplan or use the ability of our players.

Jones and Jenkins are both on record saying Fields superior athleticism in being able to scramble out of failed blocking made the Oline look way better than they really were avoiding sacks and lost yardage.

it didn't, as he had the longest time to throw in the league last year. Is not as simple as that. In the first 2 weeks, Caleb had the 6th fastes time to throw. The problem is that we fired all the offensive staff except Eberflus friend, Morgan, the OL coach. Than he married the OL coach with an OC that didn't chose him. This OL is looking worse than what Fields got, and what Fields got was average in good days. And Fields had Montgomery producing well in his first 2 years

Bears'Oline was my primary on the field worry coming into the season and it's playing out. Odunze was a luxury pick for a team that was just coming off of food stamps. Either trade down and pick up 2 Olinemen or at least take the best Olineman at 9. I don't care how good Odunze might be in 2025 and later. I only care that we keep our franchise QB alive until then.

Caleb Williams is a generational prospect. He just casually threw for nearly 400 yards in his 3rd start. This offensive line and play-calling have to be better. Williams has gotten better every game thus far and that is very encouraging. A couple missed throws but again three starts into his career that will happen. One thing that puzzles me is the obsession with screens with this team. They can't run/pass block so why do they think they can effectively block on screens, particularly with the WR ones. Just so much offensive strategies that need to be cleaned up.

FIELDS is 3-0 in PITTSBURGH. 25/32 almost 300 yards today 14/14 in oases 2.5 seconds or less. Fields was never the problem. The GENERATIONAL QUARTERBACK is in PITTSBURGH. The way the BEARS COACH and MANAGEMENT is the PROBLEM FIELDS is going to SUPERBOWLS.

Put it this way kap they are not going to make the playoffs first of all. Second of all this o line is an absolute train wreck. Third of all the coaching absolutely sucks especially on the offensive side of the football and eberfleus has got to go he doesn't know how to coach he doesn't know how to use timeouts this and that and Shane Waldron is another John schoop type of coordinator these bubble screens are an absolute joke I don't understand why we run these plays first and foremost we don't have the personnel to do that. I find it very ironic how you were so quick to cast off Justin Fields yet excuse Caleb Williams with a crappy offensive line and Justin Fields is 3-0 with a good offensive line in Pittsburgh! Damn how soon we forget! I said it last year, I hope Justin Fields balls out to prove it wasn't all on him for the Bears struggles and damn if it isn't working just that way thus far!

No, KAP, the train wreck decision happened right after the first Lions game last season when the Bears DID NOT IMMEDIATELY fire Eberflus. Flash forward to new season, new QB, same head coach(were they “battlin’ today, Flus?)and he has a rookie who hasn’t put together two hundred total offensive yards yet throwing 52times?!? Who’s in charge there? Does anyone even have a game plan? Why is Eberflus still head coach? Of course HE needs to burn a time out, KAP, to make these critical decisions like whether we go for two to put the game within three or just kick the extra point. The management of the Chicago Bears don't know run a football game with not having the tools to Caleb Williams upright it a game. I know it's early but clearly this NOT a playoff team.😢😢😢😢

I agree with everything you said, except for the onside kick. They should have kicked it out of the end zone. There were 2 minutes and 1 second left. If you kick an onside kick, your odds of getting it are extremely slim given the current rules. If you don't get the onside kick, time will run off of the clock and the 2-minute warning stoppage will have passed so you will be left with one time out and no 2-minute warning with less than 2 minutes left. If you kick it out of the end zone yes, it is a touchback and they get decent field position but field position isn't really your enemy at that point. The clock is. A touchback wastes no time so they have to run one play before the 2-minute warning and you still have a timeout afterwards. Now, why Indianapolis did not run that ball out of the end zone for all of the reasons I just listed I have no idea. The worst thing the Bears could do was kick it so that the Colts could return it and that's exactly what the Bears did. If the Colts return it at all they blow through the 2-minute warning and the Bears are in far worse shape. Thankfully Indy wasn't ready for such a stupid play. All of this should have been completely irrelevant though because you already wasted your time out, as you talk about in the video.

Hey Kap. Absolutely PATHETIC! I’m hoping your frustration carries into tomorrow morning when you and Hoody speak with Eberflus tomorrow on the radio. I know the station will require you to tone it down and go easy on the coach (I get it), but G’dammit…the play calling was awful. The Defense once again kept us in this game and I think they’ll keep us in most games, but I have very little confidence in our offense. Happy Caleb was able to connect with Rome and get their first offensive TD (credited to Rome), but the running game sucked and when we were down in the red zone, the play calling was atrocious. Having to use a timeout on a 2-pt conversation!!! That decision needed to made before the TD was scored. “Hey Caleb, if we score here, stay on the field as we need to go for 2-pts”, but no….looks like the OC/Waldron and HC/Flus, were not on the same page. I don’t like the fact that the NFL makes you announce if your going to do an onside kick but that was what the Bears should have done, but they chose not to. 😮🤔😤🤬

The Chicago Bears have gone through 5 head coaches, 4 general managers-5 rebuilds since the year 2000. There is no consistency in leadership and that translates to no consistency at winning. Nothing will change if the McCaskeys are the majority owners. All the teams in the NFC North have improved, my goodness the Vikings are 3-0 with Sam Darnold as their QB! It will be a long season.....again.

I put more of this loss on Poles. He decided to build an NFL team from the outside in, and def to offense. That is about as backwards as it comes. Centered on DBS then lb then dl, then WRs and QB, to this point he's done nothing of note on outside of Wright for the OL. There is no O that can run with an bad OL. Coaches are not plus either, that is also on Poles. That being said, a good OL would make all this look so much better. The team might well be 3-0 or 3-1 with an OL that was 40th out of 32 teams
