People keep complaining about keratin treatments, but don't get off the creamy crack will literally burn through your scalp. The reason why you hate your keratin treatment is either bc you have a protein sensitivity, you having protein overload (layering protein treatments with keratin treatments), or your not following hair care instructions, you're not using the right shampoos and conditioners, and your not moisturizing your hair. It's not high matainance; if you're black, thats just basic haircare. You're natural hair, heck even a relaxer will do even worse over time if you don't follow instructions. I know first hand, I had to chop everything off. Don't be stupid, DO NOT LAYER RELAXER ON TOP OF OTHER RELAXER, BUT ALSO DONT LAYER PROTEINS OVER OTHER PROTEINS!! That's why your hair is brittle and breaking off.
😃" WELL SAID!.... 🧡 your honest explanation and thorough description of Both processes was very enlightening. I'm far more familiar with Relaxers than Keratin Treatments. I'm very intrigued by It but wanted more details. Thank You! "
Theresse Hensley+ Yessss. My uncle is a cosmetolgist and he owns his own salon. He did a Brazilian Blowout on my hair and my daughter's hair, and our curly hair turned out beautiful and bone straight. You do have to keep it up. Ours lasted around 4 months. I wouldn't recommend doing this blowout if you want to get your curls back, because I no longer have a curl pattern like I did before. I am hispanic and my daughter is hispanic and black. I have 2a, 2b, 2c type hair and my daughter has 4a, 4b, 4c hair. We shampooed our hair and even went swimming tons of times during the summer, and our hair didn't get curly until around 4 months after our blowouts. I do feel like it made our hair dry and it messed uo my curl pattern I had before.
I made a consultation with a new stylist to discuss Keratin treatments and I can't wait! This video was so informative and straight to the point. Thank you again.
Hi jasmin, thanks for leaving a comment. I can't give you advice because I'm unsure of the type of treatment that was performed on your hair. With the treatment I use I can relax over that without any damage being done to the hair.
just the video I was looking for! You know your stuff!! Thanks a lot! I'm thinking to try a keratin treatment. I'm a little crazy.. I was thinking if I love it a lot after a salon visit I will teach myself to do it at home!
I agree that the Keratin AT FIRST was great, but it is high maintenance and expensive. I will return to the relaxer as my hair did grow with it prior to my big chop. But I will never get a Keratin treatment again based on my own personal experience.
Typically, yes you can use other treatments with keratin however, I don't give specific advise to any individual without first doing a consultation . A keratin or smoothing treatment is a great alternative and an excellent way to transition from a relaxed
I have had a keratin in my hair for over a year. The only thing I do not like about the keratin is that it made my hair too straight. It absolutely will not hold a curl for more than a few hours. Now that it is finally growing out (and I have had my hair trimmed and cut since the treatment) I am reluctant to get the keratin again and scared to perm the new growth in my hair. Any suggestions?
Hello... Yes it's ok to get a keratin treatment after having a relaxer. I have relaxed clients that coat their hair with keratin for protection. They like being their hair straight but want the reinforcement that the keratin provides.
Hi i have a question for you, i have never ever dyed my hair but i have had treatments in the past like the keratin treatment which i was confused about and thought that it would straighten my hair but it did not, anyways i have a month with the keratin treament but i want to do a relaxer because although my hair is not extremely curly it is still pretty curly and very very frizzy and not to mention it never stays straight no matter what products i want, and straight hair is what i want so my question is, can i do the relaxer after the keratin (well not me but the hair stylist)?? and what can i expect? thank you soo much :)
EXCELLENT VIDEO . I have a question … my hair is 3 inch long I’m a Latina woman with soft curls and I would like to do a keratin since my hair is short do you think it will look right? Never did keratin ever in my hair
When i was young i got relaxers from a professional and my hair never grew and broke off. Now my hair is natural with sew ins and my hair has never been this long but ive been thinking of doing keratin treatment
Do you know the difference between the ion hard water shampoo and ion hard water conditioner vs ion clarifying shampoo including do you know the difference between the ion keratin shampoo and ion keratin conditioner which out of all would be the best to use b4 using the ion keratin smoothing treatment I'm thinking of buying all but would like your opinion on the subject thanks
hi, i love your video. well i have african hair, its relaxed... and i wanna start using keratin... my question is, how often do i have to put keratin treatment, and can i use other hair treatment after i have keratin
i really appreaciate your explanation about the differences in the two. I am a licensed barber who always wanted to try to introduce new services to the shop. I have a client who has been asking me about keratin treatment. Is there anyone or class or something you would recommend for me? With the pandemic going on there is not a lot of classes going on now.
I did an at home texturizer and it just hasn’t done enough for me (personally) when I was in middle school and partly high school I wore my hair straight all the time. Now, 6 years later I’m done having it natural. So my question for you is this: Since it’s texturized, can I go get a relaxer? And then do a keratin treatment to keep “insurance” on my hair?
This has been the most informative video I've seen on keratin treatment; thank you very much :) I did a keratin treatment in August 2016. Initially my hair was more manageable, bouncy and beautiful. Two to three months after the treatment my hair is falling out uncontrollably and I don't know what to do. Since I prefer straight hair instead of my normal 4c hair, I was thinking if relaxing my hair would help. Or is the breakage occurring because I need to apply a keratin treatment every six weeks like a relaxer? Since the keratin treatment, I no longer have 4c hair. My hair is a mixture of straight and curly hair; my Afro is gone. Any advice to stop the breakage and maintain length? Is the breakage occurring because I need another keratin treatment?
you should try hair mask every week or every two weeks, after the treatment you need to still take care of your hair, especially if you use heat a lot. hope this helped. oh you could try hot oil treatments and biotin hope this helped a bit ! I'm not a professional just what I've noticed
I honestly love what relaxers do. The relaxer even relaxes the baby hairs making it soft and straight. Unlike Keratin, it does nothing. You see the girls hair straight however her baby hair still kinky looking. I hate that. Also I hate the after-effect (after 3 months) of Keratin. It looks like dead hair.
My hair was BEAUTIFUL with a perm. I went natural 5 years ago and my hair has so much breakage now and I am praying that I don't go bald because of the extreme shedding. And because of the shedding I am truly thinking about getting my hair relaxed again.
I know because you do promote both, you're not going to totally down play them. I've tried both, and with the keratin treatment it flows leaving hair shining. after it wears out my hair reverts back to natural mode, but my ends be straight, as though I had a relaxer. what's up with that.
Keratin treatments are too strong. Too many passes of the flat iron with the temp maxed out. You need more gentle smoothing treatments like Chi Enviro or Avlon Texture Release. They use less heat and less passes. You can leave your hair in a natural state and you will have defined curls versus the wavy, limp noodle hair keratin treatments leave you with. Tons of videos on RU-vid showing smoothing treatments on natural hair.
I had a keratin treatment and my hair starts falling off after 2 months of keratin,i dont knw why,wen eva i comb my hair it use to fall off from d root,i always see a looooong hair on d floor,i use to comb my hair with a wide tooth comb,nd its lyk,my hair doesn't want any oil at that time....pls shade more light on the keratin treatment but I've already promised my self not to do keratin eva again, thou it feels awesome.😊
Chyna Wilson hello chyna! Yes, I’d recommend a treatment for hair that’s been braided. It will strengthen your hair fibers as well as add moisture, shine and seal your cuticle. If you’re in the LA area I’d love to service you
I got a Keratin treatment. At first I loved it, but it did not really relax my curls. Blow-dry time was quicker, however, I did not like the feel or the result of it after I had first washed my hair afterwards. I have Jewish hair-very fine but coarse and very thick. I am a wash and go type of person. I lead a very busy life and do not want to spend much time on it. Which would be best for me-a relaxer or another Keratin treatment? P.S. I was watching an African American girl get a Keratin treatment done at the same time. Hers turned out so much better than mine. Was it the stylist or just my hair?
Might be the stylist... I have type 4 coily natural hair and ended up doing it on myself as I don’t trust stylists in my area to do a good job on my hair. It came out great! My hair curls and hair is much more smoother. That was 4 months ago and my hair has grown some and I’ve also used semi permanent dye on it since. Looks healthier than ever. Will probably do it again soon as I bought more than 1 diy treatment!
@@britjj5126 Not really relaxed. Still had the same amount of curls but not as frizzy. I've since found out that a relaxer is probably the better bet for me; however, I would love your opinion on it.
@@hannaliesel876 I see. Umm my curls were still intact but less frizzy which is what I was after. I have had relaxers in the past and I personally don’t like them because in my opinion maintaining relaxed hair is more work. I had to always protect my ends from fraying and put product on it nightly to maintain the health as it was susceptible to breakage and dryness plus is permanently alters the hair texture not to mention I had to be extra careful on relaxer day when applying the chemical to not to accidentally get it on body parts i.e my eyes 😩
I think you really need to do keratine treatment without formol !! I do it on a regular basis (not all year long but I don't have strong curls) and it actually does good to the hair. A good keratine treatment should be good for the hair. I can only advise products made in Brazil, it's their specialty. My hairdresser uses Vitaker keratine products, and a good brand is ANS from Brazil. Voilà :o) Don't give up !
Luciana De oliveira you’re definitely entitled to your own opinion. If you’re not finding value on my channel I’m sure there are other channels who can support your efforts to grow and retain healthy hair. Thanks for tuning in.
