I didn’t hear this music as a child, since I didn’t have SNES, but once having heard it by chance in OST music compilation for different games, I fell in love with this song. She is very beautiful.

That's the beauty of being a child playing this game. The music was produced & composed so well to the point where it captivated the hearts & minds of so many young kids playing this game. It came to us so natural that we never had the capacity to truly appreciate it until we got older. Now that we're older, we can understand & comprehend the beauty & complexity of this music and that's how nostalgia is created within us.

Yes, there is so much thought-provoking emotion within this music that it's unreal!! It's hard to escape from reality when listening to music that is wrapping you up in such inescapable threads of emotion! Emotion is the most real thing that exists, in my opinion! Lives end or thrive upon it! We all live or die based on how well we can take control of our emotions.....

life is not as straight as we all hope it is, but we have got to keep going, because the better we do in life, the better life becomes, no need for a reward, the feeling of "I did something to help people" should be enough of a satisfaction. Listening to this music, I feel like they're telling stories, each and every one of these. They're all so full of emotion that we didn't feel as kids, but as adults, they make us realize a ton more about life. I'm interested how others feel when they listen to these amazing tracks

When I see this picture it brings back many memories. The music brings it all together. My dad would help me play through some levels I couldn't figure out. About a year ago my dad had to stay in the hospital for 2 weeks for an intense procedure (stem cell transplant.) I stayed at the hospital for about 9 days and 4 nights to keep him company. This music was the only thing that could keep me calm and (sometimes) get me to fall asleep in the visitor's chair at night. I am so lucky that my dad is still well today, and so thankful to these composers for their beautiful music. It's cheesy as heck, but be grateful for the loved ones you still have. Be grateful for your favorite music, too.

i remember playing these games with my brother when we were kids. i can recall how the music was so hypnotically brilliant! we'd share the game when we would die, but at the same time we hardly ever acknowledged each other... the music just stuck with our imagination and nothing else mattered in those moments, donkey kong country soundtracks are unrivaled

Where's the love for In A Snow-Bound Land? (5:04) I love this one so much. There's the feeling of joy and adventure, but beneath it all, there's sorrow and loneliness. It brings out so many emotions. I say that because Stickerbrush Symphony gives me the feeling of being on vacation. It evokes freedom - you're free to go wherever you want, trouble free. In essence, it's an *escape* to a utopia. What it lacks, though, is a feeling of *triumph* or long-term *relief.* It's more of a *journey* away. (Almost akin to the song The Way, by Fastball.) You haven't resolved anything; you're just abandoning it all to live in a happy world. And it'll feel good to be there, even if only for a day or two. Sometimes, that's just what we need. Temporary relief. A vacation.

For some reason this game reminds me of my older brother. I was only starting high school and we started to suspect that he was going crazy. My parents bought my sisters and I a SNES in 1995, I was 5 years old. This was one of the games they chose to get us. The amount of nostalgia is too much to handle with the music from these games! This one and DKCII are incredible. As strange as it sounds these soundtracks have influenced my music so much!

I remember playing Donkey Kong back in 1994 when it first Debuted. Wow just wow the memories... the nostalgia. Have all 3 games physical SNES carts and fun to play them on the SNES system sometimes. The guy that composed the music David Wise also composed the music for Tropical Freeze.

The intro theme (Aquatic Ambiance) completely takes me back to 1994 when I just started college in my hometown. My dad and I would play the game together in the occasional spare hour I would get between classes. I'm very lucky to have gotten to spend those moments with him. I'm 43 years old now, and my dad is still living and probably thinks he's still good at the game. :)

Really hope they port DKC Tropical Freeze and Returns to Switch! I missed out on them and they seem like perfect titles for the Switch. And here's to hoping that more DKC games are on the way!

Oh dude, DKC Tropical Freeze is my favorite out of the entire series. So much love was put into it. It's a shame so many people missed out cause they didn't get a Wii U, though. So it would be great to see it ported to switch.

I studied physiotherapy from 2017 to 2023 (part time) and I remember using this exact video alot for study music in the library. Now I've realised I want to study something else in IT and started in January 2 months ago and have another 2 years of study after this year. Not going to lie, that opening song made me a little emotional thinking back on it all. On the bright side another 3 years of getting to study to this awesome vid 😁

The DKC2 tracks are especially stellar. Stickerbrush Symphony, Forest Interlude, and Hot-Head Bop (the piano build toward the end!) steal the show on this list.

Rare was the epitome of perfection when it came to games in the 90s. Killer Instinct and DK both had musical masterpieces. My daughter just turned four and I cannot wait for her to be able to enjoy my SNES and games I have saved since my childhood and recovered from eBay.

I didn't grow up with a super nintendo (I was born in 02), but I did play the original DKC trilogy in middle school through wii u virtual console. I still hold all 3 games in high regard, but didn't really listen to most of these tracks when playing through the game (i was intensely focused on gameplay, these games aren't easy). going back and listening to them later in life, these are amazing tracks, and David Wise was truly ahead of his time.
