I turned 81 this October, and it has been decades since I was aboard a train. I would love to be aboard one like this one and experiencing weather and its sounds and sights like those of this video. Maybe someday, before my life ends ... carp'e diem.
I remember taking a night train from a city in Switzerland to Milan and it was wonderful . . I couldn't sleep so I pulled the curtain back. And with the moon beaming I could see the silhouette of the mountains. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life.
My dad passed in 2000. He was a railroad man 36 years and was part of a crew for Amtrak from Springfield, MA to White River Jct, VT for over 10 years. He loved his job with the passion of a small boy who loved and dreamed of 'working on the railroad' and never lost it. He is forever walking through the cars, "Bellows Falls, off for Bellows Falls....". Thank you for these gentle memories.
My grandfather worked for the Santa Fe railroad for 40 years (he lived in Kansas). Whenever I hear stories about others working for the railroad I always think of him.
I suffered from insomnia for about 4 years, my body and brain were really tired all the time, but I couldn't sleep more than 1 or 2 hours per day. I suffered from terrible hair loss. I had really long hair but it almost completely fell off. My bones hurt and my hormones got imbalanced. And one day few months ago I was home alone and I felt tired but couldn't sleep, so I searched RU-vid and found this (I tried many relaxing videos, sounds etc.)maybe less than 10 minutes into this I fell asleep. I woke up around 18 hours later. My mom thought I died cos she couldn't wake me up. Since then I don't dare to sleep without this. Im feeling much better now. Thank you for this! ❤❤
Why have I been listening to this as background for the last hour? why is it so comforting, so reasuring? Who cares if this train never arrives.. It's the journey, people!
Hey stranger.... We'll probably never meet but : Take a deep breathe and let your anxiety dissolve, clean your mind. You deserve happiness. May you and your family spend a great time in this life...
I grew up near a old train transfer station in the Far East Russia, every night I fell a sleep hearing the train come and go, thank you for filming this, I felt I was back in my childhood again.
I used to live two blocks up the hill from the mbta. In the summer I’d hear the squeaky wheels and the trains traveling along. It took a long time to fall asleep when I moved away.
I feel the exact same way when i see the moors of my homeland and quaint valley towns.. I wish i could feel the nostalgia you feel for these trains as much as I wish I could share the gulf winds breaking on the peaks of fold mountains
@mattchurch I think it is also peaceful maybe it takes us back to a time when life was more slowed down. @trickshot77 I’m sure you have some interesting stories! We live near a train and my daughter and I were just talking about all the crazy things that I’m sure conductors have seen.

@Mikhail Levin "Deep memories from Eastern European childhood" - Ditto. @Anfisa Chern "something profoundly slavic about long nights on a train" - Sometimes life felt like an unending winter train ride.
POV: you can’t quite remember how long you’ve been on the train, but you remember the trill of summer cicadas as you boarded, and watching crisp autumn leaves dance as you passed by in a blur. Now, you lie nestled in the corner of your cozy cabins listening to the blistering wind outside, thankful of the warm blankets surrounding you. As you gaze out the window you observe the black pines dotting the barren snowy landscape before you. You retreat further into your cocoon of blankets, and allow your heavy eyes to shut. You didn’t care how long you’d been on the Forever train, the people here were kind and mysterious, and there were always new sights to see. For now you allow yourself to drift off into a peaceful dream, the rhythmic rumble of the train lulling you to sleep.
When I was a little bitty baby my mamma would rock me and whisper sweet things to me The gentle rocking of the train takes my mind to a silence in space and safety
I used to have a ton of cassette tapes and cd's of just train sounds when I was a kid. I'd upload them if I still had them. sadly they were destroyed in a flood
I LOVE to ride the train!!!❤❤❤ I haven't taken a plane since 1975. Trains are so soothing and relaxing. Civilized. Of course, I haven't been able to travel for years due to money problems. Plus we've had medical problems. My husband died almost a year ago and I am stuck. No car, don't drive anyhow. I sure would like to take a train trip again sometime. My dream is NYC at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. We took a train on our honeymoon and did some trips with our girls when they were younger out West and back East to New York State where my husband was from. Many happy memories, so naturally this is very relaxing. I don't like a quiet home since I live alone. This is perfect for me. Jacque from Nebraska 😅
I love to watch this, especially during the summer months when the heat and humidity get to me. For a short period, I'm in the past on a train ride. There is nothing more to do than relax and just be. The window is chilly, but I'm warm bundled up and sipping a warm drink. Occasionally, I'll see a deer lift their head as we go by. Mostly, everything is snow-covered and still. It's quiet and peaceful, as even others on the train appreciate the beauty of just being in the moment.
Rocking my 1 month old baby in the middle of the night and knowing that by listening to this the time spent getting her to go back to sleep probably is cut in half makes me so happy❤ Reading the comments makes me even more happy. Makes me feel not alone and I love to hear other peoples stories ❤
The unfortunate world of RU-vid, they can put ads on your videos without your permission, even 100% original content, they’ve done it to me, thankfully this is not the case here 😴
Traveling by train you can do 3 things... being alone with yourself, reading a good book or talking with your travelling companions! The 3rd is the most interesting for me ... you may confess everything to a stranger! I love trains! Athens to Alexandroupoli! Love from Greece♥️
this is my favorite train asmr video during Covid lockdown i was home alone for some months i would sleep in the living room and put this on my big tv so i could hear it and looked at the screen sometimes it helped me not to feel lonely and to sleep!🌹
I once took an Amtrak from Ohio to Arizona and back again. We passed through the rocky mountains during the winter. I drank champagne in the viewing car at night and looked at the stars. It was a memory I'll never forget! ❤
My dad,a railwaymain, used to say:"Don't go to a town that does not have a railway!"I inherited the habbit of never being late from him.He used to say:"Train waits for nobody."He took me with him every weekend on a round trip from Sarajevo to Zagreb.I love the sound of train ride and smell of the rails.
You are traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. Your next stop, the Twilight Zone! " All aboard"! The night train is the only means of travel in and out of the twilight zone. It is not so much a place as it is a time. For every passenger the experience is different. Tonight many will feel the need to sleep but before they do....the Night Train may have something special instore for it's passengers! "Excuse me....Mr. Conductor"? "What stop is up next"? " The town is called 'Anywheresville' mam". "What kind of name is that for a town..... I've never heard of it"! "It's everything and anything for everyone mam". " What do you mean by that"?! ....." Mam....if you get off at Anywheresville you can just make a wish upon stepping off the Night Train and it will be so". In this episode everyone on this train wants to just 😴 But imagine if you will a place where you can grow up again. A place where you can change your life as you know it. Anything is now possible if you step off but be warned..... there's no coming back. So if sleep is all you need then I suggest you close your eyes and by pass the next stop. It's a place that also exists in your dreams....or a Night Train going anywhere....in the twilight zone.
This one is perfect! You can just imagine you’re sitting there looking out the window and the sounds are so real unlike others that would have you staring at the furniture.
Mom took me on the train to Chicago when I was 5, then to New Orleans when my grandpa died, I was 9. Loved it. Creaking over the raised tracks through the bayous, riding the train City of New Orleans. Years later, when mom was 80 we took the Eurostar from London to Paris. My grandpa worked for Missouri Pacific railroad. Love riding the rails. Thanks for this! Lovely calming memories!
Great memories to treasure. It may have been my mum's 80th when we took her on a fancy steam train trip with afternoon tea from Edinburgh (Scotland). You just brought back find memories for me too. The farthest she and my dad travelled was within the UK, from Scotland to Northern Ireland, an exciting 1 hour air trip. Sadly she left us several years ago and he about 30 years ago..
To anyone reading this comment, I hope you have a great day today! Relax, you deserve a break! You can do whatever you put your mind to! Wishing you the best of luck
This appeals at several levels to me. It resonates with my leanings towards escapism and isolation from the world. Cruising has a similar vibe for me. The gentle rocking on rail and at sea is so soothing but the almost white noise of the rail trip is useful for my tinnitus. An enjoyable bit of ASMR for me. Thanks.
Its got under floor heating from the coal it just takes fifteen minutes to circulate to the cabins. A nice mild heat..not too hot or to cold..I think you can opt for blackout thermal curtains too. .
Don’t worry, this pain you’re feeling is temporary. Close your eyes and remember that tomorrow is a new day, a fresh start. Take deep breaths, you’re gonna be alright, I promise 💞
To whoever is reading this: thank you for being strong and making it this far. Please keep going. Whether you know it or not, whether you feel it or not, the world needs you. And it is a better place with you in it. I hope this can bring you a bit of respite. If it doesn't...just know you're not alone in feeling this way, and I hope at the very least that brings you a bit of comfort.❤💛💙👻
This video makes me feel like I am in my cabin on the Ark Train called Snowpiercer, just staring out into the frozen wasteland at my window, hearing the harsh cold winds of the Freeze that blow against the train. Giving a sense of dread as the great white death surrounds me, being inches away from me from a thick sheet of glass, that will then freeze me solid in seconds if it were to ever give away. Yet I hear the rattling of the train-tracks, the hum of the Eternal Engine powering the very heat that keeps me warm, all reminding me that the train is still moving, carrying the last survivors of humanity safely across the dead frozen world. All reminding me that I am safe, and I can rest easy in my bed, as I lay in my comfortable blanket, next to heater, all while feeling the wheels of my carriage rattle against the frozen tracks. I even dreamed about this once. Thank you for this great video, it helps me sleep well at night.
Ah this is nice just laying here listening to this train noise and also for the howling that's coming through the train. Thanks train driver for driving the train
This gives me Polar Express vibes.. Like my childhood dream came true. I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where it was based, and asked my mom every Christmas eve.. "When will the polar express come?" The thing is, that movie's only 1month and 28days younger than me.
Forty years ago I took the train from Thompson to Churchill in Canada, about a 13 hour ride over muskeg. It was supposed to be a no-smoking car, but the lady behind me was chain-smoking the whole way. This is so much more pleasant!
Pure Sacred Reality I did ask, but that didn’t stop her, and my dad told me it was impolite. I think she was an Inuit, and that was her only means of travel from one village to the next. The train made several stops along the way, usually to let one or two people on or off. Not always at a station, sometimes all I could see was a light off in the woods. A fascinating train ride. We arrived in Churchill on Aug 1, the first day that the ice had cleared and the port was opened to shipping.
For the last couple years, I've listened to this exact video to sleep. I love the train sounds, taking train trips. The railroad ties remind me of a heart-beat. Click-clack... click-clack... clickety-clack
Amazing for reading if you struggle with concentration! I have a hard time tuning things out and music is distracting. This is the perfect white noise! It covers up the sounds of voices, and keeps you at ease during you're reading
I lived my a railroad in Saskatchewan a long time in my life and the second I feel the vibrations of a train and hear the sounds of it’s horn instantly pleases me it’s like an old friend no matter how fast it’s going by or how loud it’s horn is blowing I feel like I could fall asleep as one passes by
This takes me back to a journey on the trans Siberian when I travelled overland to Thailand about ten years ago, it was Chinese New Year time. Wonderful time.
I grew up traveling on trains since my Father worked for the railroad, this brings back some of my best memories, the sound of the rails under you is so very peaceful and something I’ll never forget Thank You for this peaceful video 🙏
The Long Dark is my favourite game to chill to because of the cozy "blizzard outside, storm lantern and a tin of pork & beans inside, somehow I'll survive this" feeling. Blizzard/storm Sounds through a window/wooden walls are the essence of feeling protected for me, I can let go for a moment. This experience in a train is very different but feels just as great. Thank you!
I have Severe ptsd due to growing up In a crummy area going through 3 different home invasions getting shot three time and paralyzed in my last home invasion I use this to sleep every night it keeps me grounded it brings me back to being young with my train set thank you.
Reminds me of the times when my Mom would take my siblings and me to visit my grandparents in Germany (Dad was military). Loved the sleeping cars and it always felt so exciting! Loved looking at the scenery and different towns we went thru:) Brings back find memories:) Thanks for uploading this 😍😍😍
going to bed like this is unreplaceable.. blanket, hot chocolate. sory for my English have a nice night who ever reading this. happy holidays to come everyone.
Listening to this in Arizona, it feels like another world, I love this video so much, it’s just calm and cold, just the way I like it, I would love to take a train journey that lasts for days on day, maybe across Europe to see the landscape and the lives of others. That’s the dream
Oh I just found this! I love this channel ❤️💙. Thick blanket, fluffy pillow, hot cocoa. And just watching the snow and trees. Freezing cold outside but toasty warm inside. The gentle rocking of the train. And the long but comfortable journey home. No drama, no politics, no fighting. Surrounded by friends and family. Making new friends and having wonderful conversation! 3 am in Cali now. The heat, fires and political climate. Covid 19. A train trip to a magical place. Welcome to the Hogwarts Express! ALL ABOARD!
My nostalgia brought me here cuz this reminds me of my grandparents house near the train station I used to hear this sounds a lot especially at night so i kinda used to it and now i moved on to my parents house and the sound of the train still come to my mind at night so here it is this video helped me a lot especially for my sleep 🤍
Thank you so much for this. I have two trains that run immediately past my house so this is a constant sound. When I travel it's so hard to sleep without the sound of trains, and something like this does a lot to help. :)
As a child and teenager I was in the train so many times. It felt so good. I just really love trains and their sound. The train is my another favorite vehicle next to the airplane. I love driving by train. For me it's heaven on earth. When I only see the train passing by me it just puts me a big smile on my face. 😍😊😳🚄
