I'm still recovering from my back injury, which feels like it's taking longer than expected. So I went back to basics and set up my comfort skates, the USD Carbon. Still not 100% there, back is still pretty tight, but it's getting easier.

What's funny with me is that royale tricks come easy compared to nearly everything else; and this is even after a decade of not skating at all!

As someone who got back into it a couple months ago, I would highly recommend usd, I got the lomaxs from proskatersplace.com and they are amazing!

I got some 909s with intuition liners about 2 months ago and boy have they helped me improve.That being said though, its what works best for each individual.I wouldnt base my choice on other peoples preferences or experiences.Nevertheless,I hope you will like them as much as i do!I Wish you a great journey

I'm going with Them because I used to skate Valo before I quit. I'm super excited to get back out there though
@MadProfessor93
@MadProfessor93 3 года назад
Were you using the Valo v13?If so thats a coincidence because i was skating Roces M12’s before i got the 909’s,and they’re basically the same as the V13. Did you go for the intuition liners or the stock liners?
@desyncsounds_

@@MadProfessor93 I was skating some old AB 1s but I have skated a pair of v13s so the comparison is getting me hype for the skates. I went with the stock liners because OakCity had a good complete set up on their site for a very good price couldn't pass it up! It'll be my first time skating 50/50 frames though and I'm hoping I picked the right size heard the thems fit pretty true I wear a 10 in vans slip-on shoes and ordered the mediums.

Hey man I'm just turning 30 and just got back into skating after like 15 years and I know what you mean about feeling stiff. I will say this though i feel like when it effects you mentally it makes skating less fun and worse at it. I have a bad back but if I do l my stretches and am feeling good and go st it with no worries I seem to have better results than when im worried and trying to be careful. Its like you need the childhood mentality back of just looking forward and going fast! Your doing good and its important to be aware of your safety! Just dont let it worry you to the point of no fun! Get well man!

Hey dude! I found your channel looking for recent rollerblading info in the last year. Wow, it's so dead! But it's cool to see. Just a couple things I wanted to share. Nothing better than random unsolicited advice right!? The best and most fun tool I learned was to practice grinds and tricks on a nice, easy area. Something like a pvc long box. If you are falling at all just put it into a grass spot. Most important thing I learned in the time I skated was I pushed myself way too hard and would hurt myself. Which, at the time in the 90s was "gnarly" and could also at times learn faster, it comes at a price of pain and injury later also burning out. I learned that it's much more fun and efficient to practice on something easy and less impactful until you get it down and you are comfortable on the blades or a lot of times just better overall. So let's say put on some tunes. Get comfy on the blades and be able to bend knees all the way down if needed. Have the pvc grind box only a few inches off the ground so you can learn to spring up smoothly to the grind and commit to it without fear. Backsides, front sides, farf all easy to nail and get styly on. THEN once you can nail smooth consistent unitys and more advanced tricks every time, with a little style on it and not fall. Move on to something metal, concrete or larger. I know it may sound silly or redundant, but it feels really good nailing 10 different grinds back to back smoothly and switch up here and there. I'm just wincing every time I see you go to grind something a little too big and strain your body / may fall. Anyways that's also my plan on getting back into it with a much older and damaged body. Good luck my dude and looking forward to more vids. I only share because I went to Woodward 3 times multiple weeks. I was in the highest group and I was able to learn from not only the best bladers but boarders and bikers as well and have taught my fair share of bladahs too.

Nice to see you back in the game! 🔥 I have a pair of soft knee pads too. I actually cut up an old pair of insoles and insert them inside to give me extra padding on my knees. If your soft pads are big enough... You may be able to insert a cheap pair of elbow pads (in your knee pads)

Royale has always been a trick i cant do. Got a pair of razors I've never riden that are calling to me. Cult boot, ssm souls, myfit recall, 5050 balance and wheels. Its lower than I was able to do. But not crazy deep. I think if I can do this and get then on those I'll be able to get the oysi royale on my THEMS. The oysi and THEMS has the perfect feel for me. But that frame is taller than I'm use to. I was always a 5050 and able frame guy.

Ssm souls are tough on royale. I get boot down 10 times easier in my gens than I do in my bloodlines

New skates can sometimes force you to re-learn. Just switched from Bloodlines back to Raxor Gens and the huge soul plate is throwing me off all the sudden. Been skating on and off since 95 and still cant royale a good ledge. I can slip into royale on a down ledge but its clear I hop on front side and adjust. Never been able to jump on royal and lock it. Gens should make getting boot down way easier than my SSM

Open question to anyone who knows: I snagged a pair of Roces Street on eBay. Aero-light frames, with the original 67MM Hyper Drawfs. They are in great condition and still roll. Anyone know the year these were released? 95’-96’??

Dude. same! Been skating on and off 20 years. I jump on frontside and then tleak into a royale. I've always done this. It doesnt look bad on down rails but on ledges its ugly. Royals really open your skating. I been a boot trick skater my whole life.
