Have ever had any issues with it? I just bought mine a few months ago, and it’s super fine it has 160,000 miles rn, and I think I just need to do it some service, it’s my first car so I dunno how often should I do it, I’m really in love with this car, so I was wondering if you have any recommendations 🥹❤️ I would appreciate it

We bought a brand new 2020 Elantra SEL and it’s a wonderful car ….has the 147hp “Atkinson cycle” engine and it’s no slouch …..smooth, quiet, comfortable and a joy to drive …..$16,500 plus tax and tag ….we also have a 2018 Camry that we also bought new ….very nice car but I prefer to drive the Elantra

just bought one of these...about the same mileage. 2012,1.8L so it has a bit of pull, bought cash. Mine is CLEAAAN. Has a really nice tint on the sides, blocks the sun from the front, and has rain guards. Driver history is clean too...only 2 owners and it was a couple from NYC, so they weren't beating it the hell up and only let it go because they finished the loan and got the newest model. 38MPG man...epic! Ya'll can keep your gas guzzlers- -25 bucks fills my tank on these wild-ass gas prices.

i see a ton of these elantras with the 1.8 rolling around here in upstate NY, they hold up well and they don't seem to rust i don't think i have ever seen one with rust personally and i would go as far as to say that these vehicles hold up better to rust over time than a lot of vehicles from that era

I purchased a new 2013 Hyundai Elantra GLS in 2012 built in Korea and have put 90,000 miles and it is very reliable with regular full synthetic oil changes and fuel induction service. AC still blows cold. Heated seats, Bluetooth etc all still work as the day I got it. You got to get the full synthetic oil changes and fuel induction service for the engine to last. Car can get up to 105 mph on the toll way with no sweat.

I have a 2013 Elantra myself. I bought mines back in October 2014 when it had 9700 miles for $15,500 and it was certified preowned. You're is the same exact color but mines have heated seats and the volume control on the steering wheel. I had to replace my compressor at 135k miles. So far my car hasn't given me any problems. Also cars are so expensive and it's crazy. I like the newer Elantra but everything is so expensive.

Before 2011 they had timing belts with a scheduled replacement at 60,000 miles. It was, and still is, an interference engine which means if that belt breaks or slips enough the pistons slam into the valves destroying the valve train. In 2011 they switched to a timing chain which would last the life of the engine which is estimated at 250,000+ miles. But they did a poor job because the bracket that holds the timing chain guide in place is plastic. They have been known to break resulting to the timing going off but not usually destroying the engine. Changing the belt or chain guide is a labor intensive job, even the water pump (may as well replace it now because to replace it all the timing chain stuff must come off) must come off. You have to disconnect one of engine mounts, lower the engine down a few inches, remove a fender well. Remove the timing chain cover and the DYI job can take you 10 hours. For a shop expect to pay $700+. Keep the oil topped off and changed every 3,000 to 5,000 miles and even then piston “slap” can occur. It is very oil sensitive. There has also been reported of “ticking' sounds from the top of the engine. The MPG sometimes is well less that the given specs both highway and local streets. Still there is no perfect vehicle and overall the Elantra has an expected lifetime of 250,00 to 350,000 miles if given good maintenance. I still would like to have one. But if you buy one built before 2011 see if they have a receipt showing the last time and mileage the timing belt was replaced. Lacking that you should upon buying it replace the timing belt and water pump. Not doing this risks losing the engine which costs thousands. Something like $3,000 to $4,000.

Piston slap issue in my 2013 Elantra after 125,000 miles. Hyundai Canada and my local dealerships are crooks and a nightmare to deal with. They all understand that this is a manufacturing defect, and give me inconsistent reasons on why the repair can't be fully covered like other Elantra owners have gotten in the past. If you're in Canada, I'd take a hard pass at this car if buying as a used car... and frankly, take a pass on the whole brand because I've never had to deal with such an unprofessional, incompetent company as Hyundai in Canada.

I have a 2013 Hyundai Elantra.. it has leather seats and heated seats. I absolutely LOVE it. I’ve only had it a couple years and it has approximately 155 thousand on mine. I’ve only had to replace the typical things. The spark plugs, coil packs, oil changes, just up keep. It was an amazing car until someone stole mine in feb. They are super easy to steal so make sure to have one of those lock bars on your steering wheel. Cops found my car within 4 days. They tore up the steering column, my motor don’t sound quiet like I used to. Before you couldn’t hear my car running it was so quiet. The window they broke needs to be replaced , too.. they also broke a strut or something (i dont know much about cars). Thankfully my uncle knows how to fix everything on cars and he’s fixing it all for me. They must of drive the hell out of it to do the damage they did because the Elantra’s are solid, dependable cars. It still starts right up and drives but I can’t drive it in the condition the thieves left it in. But I feel you get more bang for your buck with Hyundai’s and the one I have is very very dependable and affordable up keep. I think I’ll buy Hyundais for the rest of my life because of how good my car has been. The only way I’ll buy something else is the day I can afford a nice off tossing jeep 😆 a girl can always dream right?? Lol

not even a whole year with it i think maybe 5 to 7 months. doing crazy stuff to it. its a 2016. by this weekend coming up gettimg rid of the ugly stock radio. with somthimg uo to date touchscreen and all. and installinh camera as well... if possibke ill do this upcoming yr custom leather seats in peanut butter sests allways wanted them. went with black amd allready have it in my expedition. next well be bright lights like the 2020 elantras. bright led from the resr doesnt do justice. next is all black plastic... once i can ill finish it off with black roof in suede. added starlights when i have the time. and see if its possibke to get ac vents up above or somehow in the doors... and get ceramic all the way around the windows. onky one i have is the whole windshield in 50%. its 20 fromt 5 rear amd back. and plan to do 35% rear and back but in ceramic. went for months with a adapter for bluetooth but have to constally unplug bt and use my ohone... and also well get a great mic for calls.. . thats how much i love this car. and down the road get the mercades look tweaters and speakers well be upgraded. amd thats all.. but after all this typing.. if anyone knows where or what i can do to get the stock height to get it at least 2 inches or 3 in height. in mexico speed bumps are soo hugh it scratches the bottom pretty hard

2013 is when the manufacturer that machines their 1.6L engines left metal shavings inside the engine causing it to be starved of oil. Get the newer 2014 one which doesn’t have this issue. Also these car like every car that runs on 0w20 oil burns about 1L of oil every oil change which is why they say to put 6L of oil inside inside of 5L. Change the oil early, use quality gas not from no name brands and it will last long.

I can only speak from my experience. I have the Hyundai Elantra 2013 and I’ve had it for almost 3 years. It has approximately 155k miles and it’s amazing. I absolutely love it. The only thing I don’t like is how low to the ground it sits. I’m only 5 foot even and i feel it’s too low for even me. But it’s been a very dependable car
