Trim your brass if you are not it will save your carbine. Over headspace cartridges can fire out of battery.

It is a fantastic gun. I'm guessing yours is from the Inland division of GM? Do you have any idea of it's history?

The shell casing need to be lubricated or they will be stuck in some sizer dies.

I must say I am shocked not to see every comment say that the AR-15 is the better choice. I also have an M1 and I reload for it. Both of my sons love it, and I have a hard time not having my wife shoot up all the ammunition when we go to the range. I must agree with you that I would take this as my only rifle. I guess only those that don't own an M1 will argue that the AR-15 or AK is the obvious choice for only one rifle. I definitely lean toward the 30 Carbine myself. If not I would have to take the AR-15.

I prefer Fiocchi , Magtech ,S&B or Winchester Rifle primers they have a softer cup
