Good tutorial thanks for posting. I have a old 550 and it is currently setup to load 45acp with HP-38 on this press. I have conversion kits for 38/357, 40 S&W, 9mm, 223, 300 black out for the 550. I have an 650 that is dedicated to 9mm as it auto indexes and has a case feeder so makes lots of ammo really fast. As far as the 550 and 45 acp You and I have almost identical processes to prepare the brass and run the press. Even the powder checking and seating/crimping at separate stations, Down to the fact that I don’t see a need to clean primer pockets. I even have mounted my 550 on a slab of wood like yours and made it so I can remove 4 home made wooden wing nuts and take the press off the table to open the bench top up for other work if needed.
Thanks for the video! How are the X-treme projectiles working for you, as far as accuracy? For some reason, I am finding that I shoot a lot better with cast lead and jacketed. I always make sure that I expand the case enough and only "de bell" the case. I have not had good luck with the plated variety for some reason.
They work OK for me. I don't really test for accuracy but for self defense drill out to 10 yards I have not noticed any issues. I put a slight taper crimp on my reloads and check them in a loaded round gauge. Thanks for watching!
