You are both correct. He did sample Herbie Hancock but also samples that train NOISE ofF an old movie. Cant remember where but you can find it in other videos
Havoc did something different to that piano sample. For the life of me, we'll probably never know what it is. I think he eq'd it some kinda way to make it sound more like a guitar. At any rate, you still did a hell of a job. Much love from the DMV.
hey desue. i dig your work. alot of heads are confused about what this is actually. most see it as you trying to "re make" the beat. but from what i see, you're showing us the original samples and educating us on HOW it was made. great work though. keep it up
I stumbled upon this randomly and i gotta give props bro that was not a easy beat to remake had to chop up the sample and change pitch !!!! Would love to see you remake some rza beats if you still doing this in 2019 !!! Or load some original heat i bet you got some 🔥 shit
Lol exactly how I used to find something and tune it.. and two weeks, 20+ hrs would just be a loop of trying to time and find the right pitch and levels. Always hated sudden cuts, but the reverb had to stay loud enough to be level and even that cut without the open room effect. This felt good watching this. So me about 12 yrs ago, for a 12 second hi hat or something lol. I love it.

Honestly if you listen to Handcocks Jessica original... you wouldn't even be able to tell that's where the sample came from. Gotta pay excellent attention to details to catch that.
Der Sinn des verlängerten Plattenspieler-cinchkabels liegt darin das es über/unter das Rack zum Plattenspieler führt. Es dient zur Klangübertragung zwischen Plattenspieler und Mischpult. Erstaunlich das einer sich sowas nicht Denken kann. Auch seltsam auf was für unwichtige Dinge du achtest.... und um der nächsten unwichtigen Frage vorzubeugen warum es den von mir aus nach links und nicht direkt zum Plattenspieler führt. Es lag einfach so da....hätte auch an die Decke gehen können...
