to be fair the writer and director said they know it doesnt make munch sense but the show doesnt work if they are mermaids 100% of the time because humans are naturally always wet💀
At least their tails look strong enough to actually propel them through the water. I always see mermaids with graceful curves and a stick thin tail where it joins with the fin. I know it's fake and they're just making room for the legs but it's still nice to see a mermaid tail that could actually work
I remember watching this as a kid, it came on this kids'/teens' program called "Summeri" here in Finland over the summer. This and Wolfblood were my entertainment when I wasn't out and about haha
To be honest I think Cleo's reaction to her tail is really realistic, because if it happened to me, I would pretty much just stare at myself instead of instantly screaming to the four winds.
