Follow the journey of Irelia’s update in this behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to update a League of Legends champion. Irelia, The Defiant Blade: • Irelia: The Defiant Bl... Making the SKT Skins: • Making the SKT T1 2016...
@@vincecarlodecastro9829 may she have a wonderful great life with great children cuz my god, its definitely the prettiest splash / character in league, I have a soft spot for Ahri but man... Irelia is just everything.
Now I feel kinda bad for blaming the reworked Irelia, when you see how much work and passion they put in, just so they could improve what they've already created, wow.
This irelia is much better than the original. Even if people hate her, at least shes an actual modern league of legends champion rather than the clunky mess with the most jarring ult that she used to be.
That’s pretty common, there’s a lot of abilities that where good but didn’t fit the champion they made them for, so they where kept for later (for example tahm’s devour was originally tested as gnar’s ult).
i really love these kind of behind the scene vids. i really appreciate getting to connect with league and riot, thanks for reaching out to the community
InstantMax It's a major rework. They have to consider her story, animation, model, artworks and most importantly, her skill set. If you had paid attention to what they were saying they had to take a large amount of consideration for her gameplay/skills to appeal to players. Also, it's not easy to give a major rework. What did you you think it's like? A walk in the park? Lol
This is the gaming industry we're talking about as well. Having multiple people helping each other out is better than only 1 doing everything. However, this situation is a little bit different because its a major rework, meaning that they have to change her visual appeal and her kit. The kit is where everyone puts more time and effort into because its something that's special to just THAT CERTAIN CHARACTER. As an upcoming game designer, i can confirm this very much.
If you define high skill cap as Qing every minion, then going for the stun, Qing them again twice and then autoing them to death due to inflated stats, then sure. "Skilled"
This vids is making me appreciate more on how they remake a champion or release a new one and i think the community should punish them less for making a mistake after rework or a new champ release because it takes alot of effort to make one
I clearly remember when I started playing this game in preaseason 2. I was mostly exploring all the aspects and especially all the champions. I read through most of the lore and background stories but mostly at the look of the champs and there she was: Irelia I was like holy 4800 ip. That's a lot. And there i had my first goal getting irelia to play her. Finally getting her i had a lot of fun and even got my first skin for her. But in some way she never met the first impression of that blade dancing fighter. I just wanna say, that looking back to that old times I really feel, that she has finally become what I felt was irelia. Gonna have to leave the bot lane to check her out :)
It's cool to see they actually kind of used some of the scrapped ideas. One of her ults looks exactly like Yone's ult, and that big blast thing is really similar to Qiyana's ult (since it seems to be stunning opponents upon knocking them into terrain).
She was my main. I loved to play her, but she always felt like she was lacking something. Now, she is the most fun champ I've ever played. Everyday when I wake up I don't think about playing League of Legends, but playing IRELIA. I love her Gameplay, I love her sound, I love her attitude, I love her voice, I love her appearance and I love her lore. Thank you Riot Games, I couldn't thank you enough. Right now I have more fun then I ever had playing League of Legends!
I love seeing all the work put behind these projects. As an aspiring concept artist, these are my go-to vids whenever I feel down and need a thing to stimulate my creative juices. Seeing so much effort playing out right in front of me, I can't help but feel giddy. Honestly, I had goosebumps while watching this. Thank you Riot for allowing us to see glimpses of the magic that happens behind the scenes.
I don't play Irelia much but I feel the W can fit in really well if the enemy tries to do an attack that you wanna dodge or avoid in some other way. (In this case, a dmg reduction) Then you get some more dmg after that so feels natural for Irelia for me.
I know it's late but its a very important kit to set up your Q resets on minons to gap-close on enemy champs or as a mobility tool to re-position yourself quickly.
It feels like it fits to me lol. It really helps with diving, setting up the wave for q and surviving trades. the only other thing that gives any survivability in her hit is the tiny healing on her q.
To be honest becaue of this irelia rework i finally got the grasp of using an ad melee champ which i dont usually do, mastering irelia got me more improving with ad champs, irelia is a very complex and fun champ to play i love the rework 😍 I AM INLOVE WITH THIS IONIAN BLADE DANCER!
I always love watching these behind the scene videos of the entire team working together especially your talented artists. I actually like these more than the game.
Really enjoy these kinds of vids, but wish there was a larger segment on the making of the music, especially for this amazing irelia theme! Much love though
Release more videos like this!! Its great to get an inside view on how aspects of the game are being changed and developed. It makes me appreciate how much work goes into everything. Thank you
I love playing her when she first came out but now i love her even more. The Play style is great the art, the movement all works together! Always great work Riot!
i think riot should do a visual rework on orianna's abilities, her skills visually look so boring to be honest. they should give her abilities like a robotic feel you hear me? like electric particles and stuff ya know. just saying
This video made my day just seeing behind the scenes of my favorite champions rework and the steps that you all went through to do this. I love the hard work and theres no words that can present how much respect I have for Riot
I love these behind the scenes videos! It really provides insight on how the content we love in league came to be! I would personally love to see a bts video on the sound effects of league and the process behind a champion's theme (Irelia's theme is my instant favorite).
Hey I've been playing your game since Season 2 and I wanted to give you props for multiple things. First of all thanks for opening my eyes as to how much work goes into a rework not just in kite but also design, artwork and lore; I truly found a new appreciation for what you do. From my perspective it's all to easy to get wrapped up in climbing and banning what is overpowered. I want to especially highlight the lore that you guys wrote it was really good and a great read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think whenever you do special events, e.g. Bilgewater, you really give the players intense incentive to interact with the lore and highlight your creativity. Please keep up the good work and have a nice day.
"I went 15 and 1 in the Play test" *someone laughs like a super villain* - That's what I always expected from the people that balance League-Champs and I guess it's the truth lol
As someone looking to transfer into a game design or animation major, I really enjoyed this type of video. All the little insights on what the different compartments and stages of the pipeline look like in an actual game company were super interesting. Please more of these
riot u guys made me want to work there. this high school nerd is TRYING HER BEST TO GET IN SHERIDAN, AND BECOME AN ARTIST AT RIOT I love this company. I love it.
XxSELINAxX that nice im also trying to work there and im making my best effort at the university so goodluck and who knows we could meet each other at riot xD
I would like a Morde update, but I guess they would have to make a decision on what they want Morde to be. Like do they want to keep him as a proper Juggernaut (which could perhaps change his kit around to more favour health items more, like Max Hp scalings or something) Or if they want him more like he was before as an AP burst melee mage with some tanky stats. Personally I think keeping him more of a Juggernaut would be best, like sometimes it's good to run a tankier Morde with like Dead man's, sprit Visage, with rylai's, Liandry's and then maybe Deathcap to have a decent amount of damage and tankyness. Like imagine if his W had a % bonus or missing health heal on top of it.
While Galio is the anti magic mage, I've always wanted Mordekaiser to be the anti-AD mage, that's what it has always felt to me both looking at his visuals and looking at his spells.
I get where you're coming from but he's really just a tank, mordekaiser is a juggernaut that can do high sustained damage. *edit* Of you said AP malphite... Well still, it's not reliably viable tho :P I'd rather have a reworked mordekaiser for the purpose than a gimmick
