IDK, I hear people just talk like that all the time. Especially if they don't have a super-big vocabulary, they're just going to repeat something like "I was eating those beans" with a difference cadence or emphasis. "I...was eating those beans" or "I was EATING those beans", or "I was eating THOSE beans".
