This is the most concise modlist for "remastering" Skyrim I've ever seen. Usually they proudly claim 300+, 500+, 600+ mods. You made this look like a modern masterpiece with less than 40. This is incredible
@@lw3609 Yeah agreed, it all depends on what else you're doing, visuals are weighty in terms of mb, but you don't need that many of them. But there are so many things you can do with Skyrim nowadays that all the rest of the gubbins can add up to a _huge_ modlist, especially since some of the mods only tweak one little thing. For example, if you want to make Skyrim play more like standard modern 360 degree 3rd person gameplay with cool, detailed animations that blend well, you can now do that - amazingly so, given the game's age and the fact that 3rd person was originally very janky - but it's quite mod intensive. There are loads of lovely new contextual animation packs too (e.g. you're no longer restricted to one idle). Then there's various overhaul and gameplay mods like Requiem and all the variations on that type of theme, then some combat overhauls or whatever. Then survival mods, etc., armor mods, horse mods, companion mods, etc., etc. And that's not even to mention expansion zones and new quest mods. Then If you want to add the full range of, ahem, interactive options on top of all that, that's another huge load of mods. You could easily start pushing well over 500 mods.
Exactly!! I just build my PC for the first time and I gotta say, modding is different monster for me. One mistake and everything goes down the drain. I’ve from scratch 5 times already and it’s been two weeks since I build my pc😂
I feel like I should be able to trip and fall and accidentally kill myself with my unsheathed claymore. that would be realism. where's the mosquitos. there should be a certain type of fear knowing the man who killed alduin is hopelessly addicted to moon sugar and skooma. it should make the Dragonborn after completing everything have a mid life crisis.
The modders from nexus and alike have truely push skyrim to be one of the most stunning games of all time. Thank you for assembling this work of art for us.
@@SlimStarCraft You have to have experience with installing mods to grab best of what they provide. If you forfeit because it looks difficult that doesn't mean that the product is bad.

Yes, nice first try, but at the same time it breaks the immersion for me since the wind effect does not at all look natural. Some bushes move all their leaves intensely in sync, almost like the bush was alive, while the effect of the wind is barely noticed at all for the bushes nearby.
I honestly can't thank you enough! I've been trying to mod this game for YEARS (I am still pretty new to the enb stuff and whatnot) but the video was very helpful and I was able to follow all the requirements to the letter. My game looks better than it has ever looked, it has sparked a new passion for playing the game. Thanks again for a great video!
@@Blackstag-jq7jx Yea, now that I installed this list it almost doubles with the requirements 😁, but it's still quite short considering I previously had like 150 graphic mods
Edit: Ignore framerate in this video. I was using uGridsToLoad=9. I test performance more accurately here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HO8mGEX_trA.html That said, this modlist is still going to require a beefy pc to run. Look into BethINI if you are having performance issues. If you see holes everywhere on the roads, make sure Northern Roads is at the bottom of your plugin list. That should fix it. Let me know of any other issues if you have any.
This helped with the holes but certain path textures have "spikes" in them. I noticed this on the path right after exiting the Helgen cave. EDIT: Fixed after installing SRP Landscapes and Misc, thought i could skip it and only get 202X to save time :)
I wish there was a wind mod that actually looked realistic. Most of the mods I've seen either affect a few plants, or make the plants look like there's a damn cyclone nearby.
Great video and good mod list. Looks fantastic. Gotta say though before switching to all this keep in mind this guy is running: i9 13900K RTX 4090 32GB DDR4-4000
This looks amazing. One thing I noticed that is a bit odd though is that the roads become heavily overgrown as soon as the player steps outside of the town, a little more than they should be, that close to a town. Realistically the road may not be very heavily trodden, but you'd think even a somewhat small enough amount of traffic would help to keep SOME of the weeds down in the road. As well as the town would probably have someone to go out and clear some of it occasionally with a scythe, or allow their grazing animals to walk along the path, eating plants and trampling the plants. The plants in the road make sense further out, but so close to a town doesn't make sense. But otherwise, I think this looks amazing and is a good take on refreshing the game.
it will be a nightmare bcuz fps tanking to 40 by just slowly walking in the forest zone, if u gona play it your PC will be burned alive...and something tells me that this guys already own at least 30s series video adapter XD
Огромный респект за проделанную работу. Хочу отдельно похвалить за то, что вы не стали добавлять слишком много лишнего, а постарались сохранить оригинальную атмосферу. Спасибо за ваш труд! )
Honestly I think it’s one of the ugliest games I’ve ever played. I absolute loathe the art style. I hate the hideous gray. I hate it’s ugliness. I can’t play the game without hundreds of mods, and even then, I can see that horribleness seeping in through the cracks in the facade.
They need to make a one click download and install file for things like this. Those that are new to modding will never bother with the amount of hassle you have to go through to get any of this working.
It's beautiful and frustrating for someone who has over 1000 mods to see what with so little you accomplish so much. It makes you rethink deleting everything and start with this base. Very nice work
I absolutely love it !! I'm playing the VR version and I've managed to install quite a few, alas compatibilities aren't always listed for VR very clearly. If you play VR, I'd love to see a video with how far you can remaster it!
Planning to buy a 4090 ? I was planning to get a rx 7900 xtx but I'm pretty sure it won't be enough to get something approaching this amazing result ... Sad
you can 100% run it on a 3070. i have a 2070 super and my skyrim is just as heavily modded and i get 50-80 fps with 2k-4k textures. honestly, stability comes with experience
Thank you I have 1093 mods 209 plugings only 2k and 4k armors mountaims and little things. I thing the physics mods must be the problem with my I510400f.. i get 30 fps in cities and arriving to riverwood at the star my fps go boom hahahah but I advancing in the modding thing
I wish i can play skyrim again as before. I've felt so much at peace playing this wonderful game. Unfortunately not long after this wonderful period i went through a traumatic period in my life and i cant help but associate skyrim, the calming ambience, the setting and everything with this grim period of my life. I wish someday i can fully heal and enjoy this freedom in skyrim again.😊
This so good. Looks like Skyrim released in 2023. People usually deviate so much from the original game “improving” it in their own mind but your mod list just gives off that original vibe.
This is exactly why I usually dont play skyrim with mods. One of the biggest reasons I fell in love with the game is because of the overall vibe of the world, and a lot of graphical mods change it so much that it doesn't have the same vibes anymore. These mods make the game look Next-Gen by adding more detail to the world and making it look absolutely fantastic but still retaining what made the game memorable for me. That being said, anyone know what kind of hardware it takes to run Skyrim with these mods installed?
As insane as the mods here are, I'm here for that armor set! So happy you included it! Sometimes the NPCs, player character and armor mods can actually be immersion-breaking but this looks just right!
Skyrim for me is the kind of game that's more fun to mod than it is to play. Every time I feel the urge to play again, I spend 10-20 hours just setting up mods, then the gameplay just doesn't hold up.
If u put that much effort on making something perfect, the only thing perfect, in fact, was making it and that was already done when u hop on the game so really shouldn't hold up like u said. That being said, give "Collections" in Nexus a go, so u can give more focus on getting an arrow in the knee rather than tweaking graphic mods and enbs
I'm with you there. I once dared to go beyond the regular mod limit and downloaded everything I could think of. I spent weeks going through tutorials, instructions and many, many technical issues. And then, when my game finally looked, sounded and felt perfectly beautiful... the gameplay didn't hold up.
I know right? Sometimes I just enjoy the modding and patching and tweaking things in CK so much that afterwards I only check that "YAY the game didn't crash!" and that's it, time to go to sleep. :D But I also DO start playing it later with said mods. These are just two separate activities.
I got into combat overhauling mod lists, made the game play like a mix of sekiro and elden ring, perfect for my taste. At this point skyrim modding has transformed the game into some sort of build-a-bear style platform.
Game looks absolutely stunning equivalent to modern games. Reshade is particularly impressive, I wonder if postprocessing effect changes dynamically based on the weather. While it may look super realistic on a sunny day, the question is how ReShade handles cloudy weather when there is no direct sunlight and a lot of diffuse light. There shouldn't be so much of contrast and bright colors on a rainy / cloudy day.
Looks absolute fantastic and thanks for the load order stuff as well. My only gripe is all the flora in the town, why do modders always go ham ?? People would obviously remove it in real life why is there a forest on a road in a village??? Anyways.
There’s a mod that removes grass from towns cities and npcs rotes as well as fixing interiors. It’s a must on my mod list. Can’t remember the name but you won’t have difficulty in finding ir
Seems like there's two types of modders in Skyrim... those who like flooding the cities with trees and those who prefer to expand the cities to be realistic-looking. It's always these two kinds of mutually exclusive modders. I swear. There's no in between. Just look it's the same in this video. The modder here still has Solitude in vanilla size...the same puny size that's more like a village than an actual city.
@@ZX235w3 My intent here is a skyrim “remaster”. Expanded cities is something I do not want. Adding more flora and polygons to the existing layout of the towns and cities is what I am trying to do here. Just my take on a skyrim remaster.
Excessive clutter on the roads is intentional. Just my preference and vision of a skyrim remaster. I would also argue its not too out of place in a town like falkreath. Everyone here in the town is depressed and lazy
That's quite possible in some aspects. But people will probably mod it soon enough to look better than this mod with quite less mods involved so in the end it will look insane.
The issue with mods like this and what makes them so heavy is that often LOD's arent used, there's little to no optimization, and so many mods are stacked on top of each other (including mods that have poor optimization) that it all ends up running super slow. Plus, if I remember correctly, TES6 is going to use photogrammetry which will make the game look really great. People have to remember that Skyrim is like a decade old. Yeah it looks pretty bad, but it's not like they don't know that.
thought it was great but i tried to do just like you and everything is messed up. You dont talk about how some mods you have need several other mods in order to properly work and thes mods are in conflicts with each other. so yeah your game look just fine but you don't talk about how difficult it is to make it work. spend 4 hours to do like you, now i have to start again. YEY
Personally, I found it quite rewarding researching mods, tweaking settings, and fault-finding issues. But , I also get it that sometimes you just want to tick some option boxes, and away you go 😊
I like it a lot, but I would think the roads within villages would be a little more well-kept. Like at 2:15 there' would be not much leaves laying on them.
Theres a mod to fix that, I cant remember the name off the top of my head but it basically tells all the grass mods that certain spots are off limits, like the middle of town roads and inside of structures and such
Not that bad here, your best part are the Parallax/Occlusion. You can still improve trees density with patch between Ulvenwald and NoTWL and between grass to my point of view. Great, congrats.
You should make your mod setup into a collection so we can be sure to have the right load order for everything! Though I still need a 4090 to run all this…
Yeah tbh I've been so burned by crashes that I can't be bothered going through this list to see if it works. If it were saved as a collection it would be way easier. I just have no idea what I'm doing with load orders.
Although the wailing loon at 3:53 has been over used as a sound of the ominous wilderness in media, it actually makes sense in this setting considering the far northern region.
Looks really and it does have a vanilla flavor to it, which I prefer, but I think there are too many leaves and pieces of clutter on the ground, specially on the roads, they look extremely unkempt, almost like forgotten woodland trails instead of well traveled paths, doubly so the ones that are inside towns and villages.

Cant believe a 13 yrs old game? Can look like a modern work of art with some mods and still be fun to play. Been kinda thinking about picking up my 120hr save
Modders did this for free, but a corporate studio worth billions couldn't do this with all its money, at least 5 re-releases, and over a decade of years. Pathetic. Fantastic looking mod setup. I'd love to play this game like this.
Nice to see. Very lush. Grass great. But the roads still need to be somewhat bare, with cobbles visible - well trodden, and exposed areas shouldn’t be overgrown. Beautiful nonetheless.
