Hey Amber, thanks so much! Sure thing - I’m planning on dropping some more ‘LTTA’ A-Level material soon. Thanks for commenting. In the meantime, best of luck with your studies. ✨
@@GabriellaTavini I completely agree these have been the best I have seen so far. would it be possible for you to also do the poem non sum quals eram bonae sub regno cynare. I would really appreciate it as i feel these have been extremely useful for my notes. Thank you x
I appreciate the sensitive way how you read poem, your choice and your analysis also. I listen and I listen again I find you very honest and credible when you say : I quotes "they're all tempered with sorrow but it's softened and it's tender it's comforting te read despite the harrowing reality of death"
It is so pleasing to listen to you. You are an awesome lecturer. It is like sitting with you across a table in a cafe and listening to you. You have this ability to connect despite that we are so far away - may be thousands of miles away.
Wow! I read a Christina Rossetti poem 'taped' for my sister's funeral last year. I couldn't get there for the funeral due to COVID (I'm in Australia, my sister in England). Out of that experience, and I think part of my grief journey, I discovered I love poetry. Your analysis of 'Remember' is so enlightening it further inspires me to read poetry (and listen to your channel) for beauty and that feeling that you are not alone. Thank you.
I´m an Argentinian student of Traductorado and we have to translate this poem. I love your analysis and the clarity of your explanations and your expression. Thanks!!!!
Hello Ma'am☺I am also an A/L student from Sri Lanka. Thank you so much for this amazing Analysis. Really helpful. Thank you so much🥰. May God bless you🙏❤
Your explanation is so impressive and when ever I get my exams I use to watch this video. Bcz its quite easy for me to recall the poem back. Thank you so much....❤
YOU are too kind! What can I say about the accent? 🤔 it’s the natural charm of the North channeling through me 😉 😂 thank you again for watching - hugely appreciate your compliments. ✨
Hello, I'm not even a student (in fact it's been over 10 years since I was a sixth form student) but I enjoyed listening to this. Thank you for the video!
Ahhh, that’s amazing - thanks so much for sharing your story. I’m only just discovering that even post-college students also find my lessons intriguing - so thanks for your comment.
Very ioveiy analysis of the poem Remember . Well spoken Gabriella ,what a lovely italian name by the way. I just love literature and find the Pre raphaelites the most extraordinary group of artists . Thank you so much for the analysis of Christinas poem. Joan Rosita
I think and feel (as perhaps you are also suggesting) that in the poem Rossetti is expressing what one may consider to be one of loves deepest attributes of poetic wisdom. To graciously let go of deep temporal bonds, While empowering her lover too still find, LOVE. It is powerful. As ever, many thanks Be well P.T. Are you familiar with the Richard Lovelace poem "To Lucasta, on Going to the Wars" ... Its a poem that seems to release love From the intended subject to truly Embrace its amorphous value.
Totally - that’s exactly what she’s doing. She probably saw other people grieving a loved one and becoming stifled by their grief, never moving on. She didn’t want that for her own partner. And I’m not familiar with that poem, but I’ll look it up. 🙏🏻
@@GabriellaTavini Thanks a lot! My A level exam is on the 7th of June, and I used this analysis of remember in my mock and got good marks for it. You explained her poem very well!
@@GabriellaTavini thank uu 🙊its a srilankan name 🇱🇰💕your poem analyses are to the point and perfect!!! Madam if u can please do an analysis of the sonnet 73
Hey again Amelia. Thanks so much for commenting and yup, I aim to cover all of the A-Level poems as soon as possible. I’m so glad you guys let me know what you need, it really helps when planning. 🙂
Thank u so much Gabriella for this video!!! It was a great help for me to understand this poem. More than everything your voice is so clear. So it's very easy to understand. Also, you use simple words in a beautiful way in your explanation. Keep up the good work!!! Can u pls do an analysis of the poem Suicide in the Trenches by Siegfried Sasoon???
Hey Nivani, thanks so much for your beautiful compliments. 🥰 I can most definitely take a look at Sasoon’s poem in 2021. Have a wonderful Christmas and best of luck with your studies. 🎄 📚
Hiii, I rly like ur analysis on ‘remember.’ Recently, I’m doing poetry comparison between this poem and sonnet 116. Is it possible if i say that one of the similarities between these two poems is that they all want to convey the theme of love and the eternity of love? In sonnet 116, Shakespeare gave many examples of how love is permanent, and for Rossetti, although death may bring grief to her lover but she eventually encourages her lover to still find love, so that love can be continued and can be everlasting? And her selfless love also indicates that love is boundless and it actually goes beyond the two lovers … can that be considered as a similarity? Dont know, lol, thank you!!!
TAll amazing points especially the idea about Rossetti’s love being boundless as she encourages her lover to continue living and loving someone else. Just a note on what they’re both conveying. Just say “the eternity of love” rather than “love” on its own. “Love” on its own is too broad. By specifying the “eternity of love” you actually make your argument stronger. Good luck! Thanks for commenting 🙏🏻
