Actually Dana is partially wrong- it cones down to what “enough” was for. If Dana is only talking about the label win or loss, then that’s right, but if most people saw that Johnny won, and in that young sport the judging is THAT controversial and pissing people off, then physically it can be TRUE that Johnny’s ability (70% or whatever) WAS enough. Sure, it’s categorized as a loss, but in reality he beat George. Just because everyone puts up with a judgment that’s wrong, it doesn’t change reality.

@@lindseyormsbee he retired two years before USADA testing was implemented in the UFC. Innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around. The steroids eye test doesn't really hold up.

This is such a copout. Shitty judging is shitty judging. The fact this is still going on today with zero changes to improve it is insane. It's incredibly easy to make the possibility of a bad judgement much more unlikely by changing the number of judges from three to five or more. You could also set standards for judges by having their records compared to a network of judges decisions to see if they were in the majority or not and give them a score based on that. The judging matters for their paycheques ffs.

Funny thing is the judging back then was better than it is today. That was 1 of the rare fights where everyone agreed it wasn't the right call, but nowadays we have a bad call almost every card.

Wish they fought again. GPS had 2 head kicks and 2 take downs ,more leg kicks and jabs in the 5th round for the win. Had it 2-2 going in 5th and both corners were telling both fighters u need this round

Nah it was close. I thought Johnny won at the time, haven't rewatched it, but Johnny landed harder shots and his wrestling looked better until the last round. Stats don't show how much harder Hendricks hit, but he outlanded GSP in 4 rounds anyway. He also had like twice as much grappling control than GSP. What stats are you making you up?

GSP won that fight for sure. You can see in some of the later rounds Hendricks is taking more hits because he’s tired and not throwing back. Although GSP may not have landed harder shots, he was scoring more points. He won on points.
They gave gsp the nod because he won. Fights aren’t judged as a whole. They’re judged round by round. Hendricks dominated 2 rounds and gsp narrowly won the other 3.
