If MHA came out in 2006 it would be destroyed by the critics of that time. This anime is good to today's standards. But for a lot of people with the thoughts of around that year MHA is Shitty AF

@@_._.avid._._5951 Maybe I am wrong but at the beginning of the Century the critics were pretty strict. A lot of anime that got high in 2002 or so would get dumped or lashed out for things that today are pretty common. That being filler episodes outta nowhere and characters that do not develope/have null development/destroyed previous development. You can see this with Bleach, Naruto and One Piece. They were the Big Three of the Shonen and the first got cancelled and the Mangaka got forced to rush the ending even though Bleach has a good story only because the anime had 40% of filler. Naruto Shippuden lost more and more fans with every new Season as it destroyed all the development of the previous series (Not mentioning it got even more filler than Bleach). And One Piece got so extended and has so much filler that a lot of people got out of the boat and stopped watching it because it became so long (And repetitive sometimes) it was tedious. But you can see here Boku no Hero and other bad shonen anime getting new seasons even though the characters are blank as fuck and the ones that aren't are killed in the most ridiculous way or become a Joke after one fucking fight. And you can see they like this shit when in all the polls of better character the guy that always wins is Bakugo
