Compilation of TV commercials and ads from 2008 and 2009. Following the Great Recession and the Swine Flu pandemic, some companies put out ads addressing "these uncertain times". But for the most part, it was business as usual, giving a glimpse into a world just moments before smartphones took over.

Wow, over a decade later, and the same corporations are still lining up for bailouts. Today's ads are less eager to point it out, though.

Holy shit I remember that Tobacco commercial from way back when. Fuck, these commercials still feel somewhat modern.

Some of these commercials crack me up. You could absolutely check out games and movies at libraries, even back them. Who on earth was paying to have them delivered? Direct download makes sense for the convenience. But game fly, blockbuster, and the original netflix made no sense as business models.
