I listened and watched this lesson the second time as I was interested why one guy asked about sentenced 4 in his comment. That is great you have done these examples in different tenses.Sentence 4 was in past Simple and made confused him but does not matter when it happened or is happening.the most important was do not forget to call him even yesterday. Thanks a lot for giving in different tenses. We think and understand more.
I found this lesson very important! It's the first time that I have understood the difference between "remember+infinitive" and "remember+gerund"! Thank you, Andrew!!! Greetings from Greece.... See you soon...

Thanks my friend for your lessons, I´m learning English and I feel very nice when I listen you because I can understand almost all, I´d like your explanation about the topic Infinitives vs Gerunds, is so confuse for me, in cases like after certain verbs, adjectives, modal verbs etc, thanks! blessings from Colombia!
Thank you so much. I didn't have any idea of this very important subtlety of the English Grammar. I'm flabbergasted. Anyway, we learn something every day, don't we ? :) :) :)
This is a very useful tip to this topic, I always remember to watch these awesome videos from Crown Academy but I don't remember watching this specific one before.

All the best. Ludmila

lSurferl Thank you very much for your comment and I'm sorry for the delay in replying to you. I am very pleased that my lessons are helping you. Best wishes, Andrew
Thank you for this great lesson. No.4 in the exercises , calling or to call? It is about past so I think calling is the right? I hope you correct and demonstrate for me
mmm Hello and thanks for the comment and question. The rule is *not* if the action is in the past, present or future. The rule is if the action is *before* or *after* the thought. In question 4, it is true that the action (call) is in the past. But the thought (remember) is also in the past (*did* you remember?). In question 4, we are asking the question to be make sure that the person did not forget to call John. The person thinks first, then calls John. Both actions are in the past but the thought is first in this context. Best wishes, Andrew
@@CrownAcademyEnglish I have the same doubt, so thanks for the clarification. To sum up, it's correct to say: It was John's birthday yesterday. 1- Did you remember to call it? or 2- Do you remember calling it? It's right ? thanks
Thanks for realy good teaching of infinitive. I was wondering if you could also kindly have a video about pasive and past infinitive. look forward to watching that lesson. thanks
Hello Ma'mm, I am Amit Gupta FROM Hyderabad. there is a question to understand passive of gerund and infinitive. 1. The home(Non doer) needs to be painted ( Passive of infinitive ,Both grammatically and sense are passive) / The Home needs to paint(Active of infinitive, only sense is passive) 2. The Home (Non doer) needs being painted(Passive of infinitive ,Both grammatically and sense are passive) /The home needs painting(Active of gerund, only sense is passive). Here i want to understand why passive of gerund one is wrong ? Request kindly respond
+Thơ Nguyễn Excellent, I am glad that you like my lessons. Thanks for the comment and I'm sorry for the delay in replying to you. I have been on holiday. Best wishes, Andrew

Can you tell me which one is correct in this case? Luckily, she remembered (to fill up/ filling up) with petrol, so she didn’t run out on the way there. Hope to see your answer and explanation as well.
''to fil up'' because in this case it is something that she remembered and made '' fill up with gasoline ''. In this exercise, it is not a matter of remembering whether she did it or not, in this exercise it is something that she remembered and did
Hi, Just have a little confusion. I should not see you talking or I should not see you talk. I have read that see should be followed by V1 without to. Which one is correct?
Hello Sir, You have awesome knowledge of English, i am watching each of your videos. I have one question about an infinitive VS Gerund-Can qualitative adjectives can use with Gerund ? example- i am sad to have loosed the match or i am sad loosing the match. Kindly guide me for saying sentences- As you described about infinitives- action yet to happens & Gerund- work completed and running .
After the match (past) we can say: "I am sad to have lost the match." ("to have lost" = perfect infinitive) During the match (present), we can say: "I am sad to be losing the match." ("to be losing" = progressive infinitive) Andrew
@@CrownAcademyEnglish i am really want to thank you for your prompt response. That's very kind of you. I got it your answer. Regards, Amit Gupta from India.
Thanks!! Good one!! Can you add more vedios with different examples!! Gerund action wards are using to learn the action or remember the action/process etc e.g. I learnt cooking. He remembers cooking that dish. It means I learnt firstly and than I used it again. Is it the correct way to use of gerund words. Infinitive action wards are using to indicate about action required or have to do it e.g. to call and to go. Is it correct!! Please reply! Thanks!! Sir!!
Rocco Dabellonio Hello, the meaning is the same. The action is first and the thought is second. We recall an action. It is 2 different grammar structures but the meaning is the same. I hope that helps. Andrew
