Thank you Sam. One great point you made was that Shawn and Bret influenced a generation of wrestlers who weren't giants. Hopefully Bray will influence generations with what creative ideas are possible. Things we've never seen before. I thought the firefly funhouse/Fiend character was genius. RIP Bray

The biggest thing I take away from Windham and his approach to his character is to never compromise on creativity. To me, his lasting legacy is the creative mastery he had. It was winding, twisted, original, and transcended wrestling. As a writer, he will continue to inspire me to go for broke and be true to my voice. My thoughts continue to be with his family and I know his spirit will live for all times.

Great segment today Sam. You are a soothing voice in this dark time with a perfectly articulated sermon on our loss of Windham and a perfectly executed chronological retrospect of his career. I am 53 years old and he was my favorite modern day talent. The Wyatt’s & The Briscoes were always huge appeal to me as far as characters go. I always gravitated to that backwoods bearded look in the same way I looked at Bruiser Brody and the Bezerker. His booking is secondary at this point but because of how detailed you chronicled his career. I still cannot understand why he lost to Cena @ Mania, Lost to twice to Randy @ Mania and of course the loss to Goldberg was still despicable to me. He never recovered creatively from that. His return last fall was so God Dam epic on how it was presented. I was so hopeful, but here we are now. That redemption never came to be. We will never see the likes of him again. He had his own category Headliner for the Hall of Fame for WM40

I was in a bad way and had convinced myself it was ok to use again and I just messaged bray on Twitter and he took the time to talk to me and convinced me not to throw away the sobriety I had fought so hard for .Now both the person who inspired me to get clean and the person who convinced me to stay the course ..It really hurts man.

This was absolutely fantastic. One of the best tributes I’ve ever seen. Not only did you chronicle his entire career, but you made it okay for us to feel sad. You explained why it’s completely normal to feel the way we do right now, even as adults. You are an absolute master of your craft, Sam Roberts.

It’s weird how you can never meet someone but they can effect your life so much. I loved all his work and getting to see the growth from husky to bray to the fiend to his return. Bray has taken us on an amazing journey he’s gonna be deeply missed. When Brodie passed it was heartbreaking to see someone on there peak pass is the worst and now it’s happened again only couple years later so sad. Loved bray and Bryan at rumble and loved the shield vs wyatt family loved these stories I fell away from wwe for few years and then this group of young guys came throw the shield harper Roman bray was great to see and Bryan and punk where there I loved it. I loved when the fun house started I could not miss a moment of the fun house story changed a lot in modern wwe for me. So sad he’s gone but so greatful we had the luck of getting to watch bray entertain us thank you bray RIP thoughts with his family and friends.

Sam is the go to guy when you want to hear someone speak profoundly about events and happenings in pro wrestling - just as he was in this tribute. And he wasn't reading a script either, but yet encompassed so much points from throughout Bray's career and made all the right references at the right moments and kept it flowing. A master podcaster.

ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pqf5RgKDTGA.htmlsi=Z8m0SRkR3592x-z4 Why does the video start out with the firefly fun house coming back to life? Then shows two indertakers trying to kill each other. Then Bray watching stuff transfold on TV. Then Bray spinning the wheel (price is right guy just died). Then Bray (Howdy which means death) points to the location of Kentucky where the tribute show was? Then Bray says at the end if he told you a story, could you keep a secret? Like is this him trying to tell us something. It’s not but what if it was. Creative genius. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RD3-dWA-JG4.htmlsi=NY7_0dd5gwrQ3Iwi Also in his first ever promo he said he watched his dad die at 8 in a boat fire. Well keep that 8 in mind. Bray died at 36. When Bray was 8, the year was 1995. 1 + 9 + 9 + 5 = 24 Bray died on 8/24 Why does Bray chainsaw himself and why does Howdy wear Terry Funk bar wire on his hat? Terry died a day before Bray. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZoR0c8ryAsA.htmlsi=qht4OGEy9JcsK6RT

I've never cried over a celebrity/wrestler death. I've been waiting for him to come back. I'm going to Payback I hoped he'd be coming back then. Thursday night I watched his first promo back after his return and I cried. After Smackdown last night i balled like a baby. Nevermind him just being an incredible wrestler he just seemed like such a wonderful human being. The world is going to be a darker place without Windham Rotunda. I feel like I lost a really close friend. It'll take me some time to get over this.

❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏 As always with these unfortunate situations, but especially one such as this, the product of wrestling, the business of wrestling all of it pales in comparison, and quite frankly doesn't matter in the grand scheme, of things... Simply put, just heartbroken for the entire family, especially his children, as well as all of his many friends. It would be tragic regardless of circumstance, yet especially so under these here.... Gut-wrenching, doesn't even properly address this situation here, it's absolutely devastating across-the-board, for the only reasons that truly matter... Pertaining to the wrestling end of the Spectrum, the word has been used, and used plenty, but there is none better, then the word captivating, Windham truly was that. His character work specifically, it was a masterclass, you always wanted to see where his work was going, no matter the angle... Bottom line, suspending your disbelief, was both entertaining, and fun as hell, while you watched him perform... He always left you with something to look forward to, or at the very least, left you wanting to see what happened next. Even if you weren't sure what that was. Either way, you wanted to see for yourself, just what he was going to be involved with next. Regardless, he kept people watching.... Love or hate the character, or the booking, either way, it didn't make a difference, you the fan were watching Wyndham's work regardless. As I said, like I said, Wyndham captivated with his work, he kept all of us watching.... Ultimately, and obviously in my opinion, that's why he will always resonate.... It's because his work made us experience and feel all of that. His work did that every single time.... Lastly, I'll say this. . Wyndham is being remembered, and his overall professional Legacy will be crafted, primarily by everything that I just mentioned, that will be a part of it, but only a part. The rest of his professional Legacy, if any of it actually matters, the rest of it, is what it is, because he never gave up on us, and we in return, we never gave up on , and always believed in him..... We, and Wyndham, we both never gave up on each other. That primarily, is both what, and why, Wyndham's professional Legacy, will be what it will be. We all should be very appreciative of those facts I would suggest. I know that I certainly am, so.... With all that said, thanks for the mark you left Wyndham. Your work, and your passion, both helped, and entertained many... It's appreciated, and forever will be, Thanks plenty Wyndham Rest easy good sir 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤❤

This man was one of this pillars of my childhood. He came up when i started to watch wrestling and i have been watching ever since. Even i dind't always understand his character as a kid i do now see how deep his characters went and that they where so much more than just characters. The man was a genius the most creative and best storyteller in wwe. And even he didn't win that many titles as some others he deserves to be in the hall of fame. RIP Windham such a deep curious and kind soul. Reality hit me again its already been 3 months and even i have never met Windham in person i miss him tremendously we youre fans we all miss you. Such an awesome guy. His comeback and new theme was beyond epic and paints a beautiful picture of Windham's struggles working in the profession that he loved...Wrestling & his Family was his life...he took advice from HHH and going to be more organic in his approach. He was about to launch into SUPER STARDOM like we've never seen...surpassing the heel/face molds. He was getting to be more natural or at least authentic in the sense of being himself...he was going to mask up post match and have people actually "RUNNING," away from his attacks as he sought to do very bad things to them without apologizing...its clear to me that after beating Lashley, he would've dismantled a few more top names before taking Roman down at a Mania....I shed tears because his future was going to be that much brighter than it ever had been...and he had a wedding to plan and kids to raise....his story wasnt finished in this life....but, I take refuge in knowing he awoke from his nap and found himself in Paradise. Windham got to leave this desolate, forsaken reality on Earth, this mortal life that is often filled with pain, war, greed, and suffering...in exchange he got to become truly, "Forever," with his Savior...I trust that he is watching & building a space for his family❤. As a Firefly, when my time comes, I will be looking for Windham, his eyes, his laugh, and his warmth...even one of his legendary hugs. I wish I had a friend or a sibling as pure as Windham. I'm still grieving. We graduated the same year, both divorced, both remarried, both have 4 children...I've lost family...a lot...and I am grieving harder over Windham than them? What does that say about this MAN? It honestly says a lot...and I think when he was originally released, his heart broke. He had put more effort into his work & relationships than anyone else...Until next time ❤🙏 ✝️

Hey man, I watched this as not a fan of wrestling, but a fan of yours. Your words here are so poignant. You pray a price as a fan, albeit much less than the performers themselves pay. I'm a fan of racing. Mostly lower level grassroots type stuff. We lose drivers sometimes. Obviously it hits families and friends the most. But it punches us so hard too. They give their bodies up, and sometimes their lives for our entertainment. They are almost the same thing. I'm sorry for your and the entire wrestling community's loss.

I know you actually liked Bray he wasn't just a flash in the pan that was good business sense cause of the moment in time so you dud a interview I honestly believe as a fan watching a pro interview a pro you cousin sammy and I say that cause my moms maiden name is the same as yours weather were actually long lost kin or not is irelavent to me cause ( I know this is side track from origional point) but my dad was up intell his mid upper 70,s a world outlaw midget race car driver and in the old days / my child hood every new town every new hotel ( new to us dad had favorite haunts) we,d grab the phone book and most allways thered be a couple pages or more of Allen ,but alot of times compared to other sir names Robert's usually is 1st represented every were and lot of times if not equal to Allen than usually competivly close, and most allways ide ask either dad or mom's are we related to any of these other Allen's or Robert's in these new to me towns . And dad or mom or both would allways like a programmed robot say maybe back in time some where but not to my knoledge , so fuck that I'll say it if we wasn't related we wouldn't have the same last name s in the family tree,s spelt the same way so there it is cousin I believe now however close or distant all folks that spell the sir names the same are family even if the records have drifted apart ,now to the first point and finish I aklways felt watching you and Bray in the stuff we were all privledged enough to see you guys do that he was not just some other profesional interview you were conducting cause it made good business sense ,but that you were strait up a fan like 5he rest o us firefly misfit types any way the finish I've allways felt and thought as well as energy read while watching you do you're job and thought hell yeah cousin sammy may be the best wrestler interviewer person alive kicking ass in today's world nope my bad my bad iam full of shit you're the best cousin sammy so keep it up and the metal toy review type stuff just like my other cousins on mom,s side thers a love of theater and cinema but a special love for the plastic that imitates flesh / action figures part of thats are age the origional star wars figs and vehicals were revolutionary for the time period not so much as today but ot had to start some were fast forward to what wave 4 or 5 of phantom menace they start useing on the 3 inch scale some kinda real scan computer tech and it whent from looking like a artist simulation and attempt at sculpting the real face head and hair that the fig is supposed to capture to like I shrank Liam nessan down and plastic bubble moderen actin figure type packaging strait shrank himdown and voodoo dolled the guy any qay when we was children most the star wars couldn't actually decently hold on too the weapons theby came with so for are generating x age to see figures that didn't just simulate the wrestler it looked like it literally looked like them 1000% and the mideren articulation off the chain damnd near simulates real life human movement how could we not as a generation getting a peek at the start and than seeing its evolution from blagh to holly shit wow, but the energy passion and love you bring to interviews on wrestlers or the toys we all seriously dig on is awsome and should be hailed as a hold standard of how a interviewer personality dies there job love you're work you're energy and over all presentation and the Bray moments were the top of the crop fo at least me i think he did better interviews with you than every one else and it's cause of you're talent professionalism and the fact that yea when you're doing the Bray stuff I truley feel iam watching like my cousin get the honor and privledge to interview ate collective favorite that still wrestled lije it was coming from a fan to the fans it felt vary family to me and I am maybe none for rambling and you're energy screams to me relatable family if the right situations came up like great type frind status and no to my knoledge non us ever meat but there it is thats the stuff you're work presentation and general energy speaks to me peace keep doing what you do kicking ass taking names at the top of you game ,.... Rest in peace, dearest Windham. You played a monster on TV in contrast or maybe not of who you seemed to be as a person. I wish i could find out what his favorite bands were as I feel that tells a lot of a person. I still don't want to believe he's not with us anymore. We should have been seeing him wrestle and create for the rest of our lives. So unfair to his fans and mostly his family and friends. Makes me question why.

What can be said that you and other journalists, wrestlers and fans haven't said already? Windham was an absolute creative monster. The dark elements of all his incarnations kept my heart beating as a wrestling fan. I truly feel like he wasn't given his chance with full potential with The Fiend character. For whatever reason it be, creative differences or simply budgetary, The Fiends character life was way too short. It's always a sad time after losing such a polarizing figure that we give them their flowers but in his entire WWE main roster run, flowers were given because the man simply captivated me and the respect I had and still have is immeasurable. It's an honor to have witnessed his genius and even more of an honor to have shared the same timeline as him. Thank you Bray the character and Thank you Windham the man. There will never be another. RIP.

I don’t remember many loving the Bray Alexa Bliss stuff or Uncle Howdy but he defo had more hits than missed the original fiend and Wyatt family stuff was my favourite

In my opinion the fiend is what happened when the mind finally broke then what happened was Bray was able to put himself back together make a successful return and finally be centered Uncle howdy was eventually going to be the manifestation of his past unfortunately for all of us we won't get to see the conclusion of that story Bray Wyatt was one-of-a-kind he could look at you with those eyes where you were sitting on your couch watching the show and scare you with a look then he opened his mouth with every word he said I found myself drawn in captivated wondering what was going to happen next then I watched him wrestle his first match on the main roster because at the time I thought they cancelled NXT I saw the Unique Style and I was hooked especially the spider walk I've never seen anything like it excuse my ramblings I'm still trying to comprehend what's going on trying to figure out what life is like without my uncle I'm trying to figure out how this happened to such a kind soul rest in honor Bray we love you

Good ol’ LET ME IN SAMMY. Bray Wyatt dies and yet Marty Janetty, Jake Roberts and Buff Bagwell still live. Something about that is just so wrong. Rest in peace Mr. Rotunda thank you for being so passionate for all you did. Thank you for all the amazing memories I wish u had time to give us more 🪦🙏🕊🙌. Sam you are a good dude thank you sir 🤘🤙. I swear this feels like I’ve lost a friend. I’ve never felt this way from a wrestler or celebrity dying either I’m getting super emotional as I get older or that man was somebody special

When it's your time, it's your time. I truly hate it that Bray Wyatt passed away so early in his life knowing he's have so much to live and give to the wrestling business, but there's one appointment you can't cancel, and that's the appointment with God. My Deepest Condolences to his family and friends, he's gone but he will never be forgotten. #RIPBray #Hegotthewholeworldinhishands

This is why you don't play around with dark entities, call yourself a supernatural being, and align yourself with a chomo character (The Fiend). Two Wyatt family members are gone and they both acted "Godly." Learn your lesson kids and don't play with fire.

If that were the case, then every horror movie/supernatural actor would be dead. Stop mixing fantasy with religion.

Nice profile pic. My favorite band. And what a loss. Bray thought outside the box. If only he could’ve had full creative freedom, much like Tool. It coulda been incredible
