I don’t care what you felt about his in ring career. Dude left behind four children two of them not even five yet. May he rest in peace. May those babies live a happy fulfilling life. May all of us show some compassion in this cruel world.
@@artvandelayRFC It was all super corny if I’m honest and he could barely wrestle but hey you gotta swing to hit the ball and nobody should leave the earth that early.
In a world of cookie cutter, "create a wrestler" wrestlers Bray Wyatt dared to be different. He refused to play it safe, and let his creativity shine through. It didnt always nail the landing, but when it clicked it was captivating. The Fiend is still the coolest thing in wrestling in years. RIP Windham, my thoughts are with Erick Rowan, Braun Strowman and of course your family - especially your kids.
Whether you liked or disliked his wrestling character, there’s no denying he had a unique creative mind and cared about about his on screen persona. Gotta respect someone that constantly wanted to try new things and ways of getting over.
His stuff with Bryan, both as the Eater of Worlds and the Fiend, was great. Bryan turning on Wyatt in the steel cage on Raw was one of my favorite moments from BDs WWE run.
The first iteration of Bray Wyatt and the Wyatt family was a breath of fresh air. The aura. The entrance music. The entrance itself. The lights in the crowd during g the entrance and just the "unknown" of this persona was enough for me to be all in. Sending nothing but love to his family, his colleagues, and the wrestling world at large.
Bray had so much potential. When we look back at his career, the Wyatt family is what will be revered as his best work. The fiend never connected with me but it was different and the firefly funhouse was creative and he was on to something there... Whenever an active wrestler passes away the impact is ultra hard. RIP Bray and thank you for everything
Genius and unique. There will never be another Windham Rotunda. We only scratched the surface of his potential and even still, way more creative than the rest of roster. Personally for me since the attitude era, theres no one else. RIP Bray Wyatt 🙏
I'm kinda bitter cause these assholes shit on this guy for 99% of his career, and this comment section would generally be nothing but negativity towards the guy but whatever, pretend you were always his biggest fan guys. I see you. Loved this man and all his characters. He innovated. He was different. He was everything good about wrestling that 90% of you people generally atleast pretend to not be into.
Bray will always be one of those guys who go down in wrestling history as a big “what if?”. What if Vince would’ve really got behind The Fiend gimmick? What if Bray came back while Triple H was running creative? What could he have done in those six months? A truly heartbreaking loss for fans of this business.
The most shocking wrestling death since Eddie Guerrero Bray was only 36, and like Eddie, he had so much more to give us my thoughts and prayers are with his wife and 4 kids 🙏 💙
Real shock and tragic situation, especially with him having children. I haven't been watching wrestling for years now to be honest, just following some news via channels such as this, but whatever he's been doing lately or not is irrelevant about this. God be with his family. It hits me a little differently than other wrestler deaths due to his age to be honest; the man is only a year older than me
The only thing I can say somewhat positive about the Bray situation is at least he passed away with loved ones and he didn’t come back and pass away in the ring, which obviously was totally possible.
I feell Bray's in ring work is underrated. His match with the Miz had great storytelling, we were just shocked to see him wrestle in the funhouse persona for the first time.
For years WWE craved for bigger than life characters to the same realm of those than in the 80s and 90s brought pro wrestling to a golden era. Bray became one but they had no idea how to use him properly and so he only scratched the surface of his immense potential, but now he is truly immortal because his legacy will outlive his persona. Rest In Power Windham Rotunda 🙏❤️
Agree or disagree with his creative ideas .. the guy was different, unique and always kept “trying” .. He was a kind lovable person outside the ring .. Thank you so much Windham for all the joy, laughs and excitement you brought to our life .. All the love and support to your family and children .. May your soul rest in peace ..🌷✨
I always thought they should have gone all the way with the Wyatt Family as a cult. They should have been recruiting all the downtrodden, the outcasts, basically the jobbers and people nobody cares about, creating a faction out them that isn't in it for power or titles but wants to create chaos and burn the establishment down. Instead, the Wyatt's would target someone, feud with them for a month and then Bray would lose the rubber match. Every time he got some momentum, WWE would kill it. I remember when Bray and Take faced off at Mania and let's be honest, that match is all about the entrances. So what did WWE do? They had them go out while the sun was still up. Ridiculous.
The successor to Undertaker in so many ways, but cut way too short. I wish Bray got to tell his full story, but what we did get to see will be remembered for years to come. RIP Windham, you leave a legacy that will never be matched.
Don’t sully ‘Taker’s name like that. The Fiend was trash. Bray matches all sucked or were just meh. Don’t get me wrong, Taker had a few duds, but he’s a Legend for both his gimmick and in-ring work. Name one good Bray match.
@@Odinson42 I was talking about the character being supernatural like Undertaker. Match quality is overrated, star ratings are worthless. Bray was always crazy over with the crowd and sold major merch doing a character that was just as supernatural as the undead zombie Undertaker. Taker had Paul Bearer and his magic urn, The Fiend had Alexa Bliss. Taker had purple light an he teleported to the ring, Fiend had red light and he teleported to the ring. Successor
that mania match with cena will probably be the best cinematic type of all time. many people have said that he could of gone to hollywood or make budget horror movies,he would of been amazing but RIP.
I stopped regularly watching WWE half a decade ago, but most of the times I've peeked back in have been because he was doing something completely buck wild. I'm not even a huge fan or anything, though the Cape Fear and early Family days were great, but I took for granted that this delightful, absurdly creative weirdo would be entertaining us for decades to come. Heartbroken for his family and all the people who loved Windham. Maybe the company's most organically successful star since Bryan, and despite being tossed together in a storyline cul de sac their work together made them both massive stars.
Remember when bray spoke as himself when he returned and Alvarez asked what he thought of his promo and dickless Dave goes "er uh he uh definitely is errrrr overweight... he put on uhhh a lot of er um weight... " and basically ignored the question to critique his weight for 3 minutes. Rip windham
When I first started listening I got annoyed by Alvarez because he reminded me of my sister when she was 5 whining all the time with that high pitch but I'll take that any day over Dave stumbling through his sentences worse than when my dad had a stroke.
Cut these guys some slack. Their job is critiquing wrestling and for a while Brays booking was terrible and matches were awful. This doesnt take away that the guy was hugely talented and will be greatly missed. Its heartbreaking. Rest easy.
In retrospect, I think this is why Bayley's original character worked so well. Because everyone loved her but you could beat her as often as you needed to, and people didn't give up on her. With the Fiend, they had to create circumstances for him to lose, and they didn't always work out great. And, too, it wasn't until the Fiend that I truly appreciated how hard it must be to work under a full face mask. You can't make expressions, you probably can't talk very well, and the only thing I can figure is that if he actually got hurt during a match, he would have to do some sort of hand signal that the ref could pick up on, or whisper to the opponent and hope he understood. And to wrestle in those layers, it just looked like he would be overheating every time to me. So if any of that was true, that tells me he loved what he did to do it for as long as he did.
May god bless his family n friends he will forever be missed still has the hole world in his hands n we his fireflies will forever burn for him such a sad time I’m still in shock n lost for words R I P Bray Wyatt there will never be another like him
Of course years after the fact Dave claims he knows what was going on behind the scenes with Bray and the reason why he left. At the time he was claiming Vince didn’t like him smh.
Right? Or throwing mental health under the bus or when they said he was difficult to work with. Sounds as if that was the total opposite. It pisses me off how these guys threw those lies around like that. It definitely bothered Windham
Said it before, I wasn't a massive fan of his TV character, that's purely down to subjective taste of course. What I do love is that he clearly was very passionate about the business, was very creative and far more importantly seemed like a lovely father with a beautiful wife and kids and the fact that nearly everyone has said that he was a class act. Far too young and I hope his family have all the support around them that they could possibly need.
Translation from Dave, I didn't like a lot of his character, so I'm going to say a lot of other people didn't like his character. It was very successful, a top merchandising character, the top character in the industry, but a lot of people didn't like it. No Dave, they didn't like the booking of Vince McMahon along with that character, Windham was never the issue. Talent have stated that the entire time. Legitimately, genuinely, do you forget that the majority of the time the Bray Wyatt character would lose his matches? Essentially, every major program he would have, he lost, with minimal exceptions. Other talents weren't derailed by the Bray Wyatt persona, other Talent were derailed, because they were used by management, in a ridiculous capacity, which damaged the Bray Wyatt persona, that's what actually happened. See the Seth Rollins, and Goldberg personas, and how they were both used in Saudi Arabia against the Bray Wyatt related personas, as evidence. Just those two examples alone, they on their own, they prove my point. Management's perception, and handling of the Bray Wyatt personas, that was the real issue, not the character itself. Yes, some will argue differently, yet those same people won't say anything about the character of The Undertaker, the Vintage application of the character of Kane, or the original variation, in 96, of the character of Mankind. Each one of those personas, if we're going by your logic, and that of the argumentative fan, each one of those personas would have presented the same issues chances are, as the Bray Wyatt personas, yet nobody says a negative word about any of them, not one negative commentary... Witch, nor should they by the way, those characters were great and I love them, I'm just pointing out, you're and that small segment of the fanbase's hypocrisy,, on a subject like this one, it's sadly obvious quite frankly. Not to mention, it's both sad, and grossly pathetic on your part Genuinely, stop with the BS narrative that you push about supernatural wrestling, especially now. Have some class... You don't always have to be a clickbait, trash gossip reporter, wannabe do you? I mean, Jesus Christ. You don't even need to bring up the fact that you didn't like the character, we get it. We understand, that if it's not Kenny Omega wrestling a blow-up doll in Japan, it doesn't reach your star rating system, we get it. We understand that a tag team that literally under sells, and or, completely no sells the people they work with, like the Jackson brothers, we understand they get your respect, while essentially, barely anyone else does. .. We know how you operate ... That said though however could you not give it a rest, at least for a Time such as this? I mean, seriously Dave, honestly now, just give it a rest will you.
❤❤❤ thank you dude!! I can't believe Dave didn't say that he knew bray died before bray died... he acts like he knows everything... and how many times does he have to say "you know" after everything he says... you know.
@@johncraig4654 Honestly, the way he speaks, or the wrestling products that he prefers, honestly I could care less about any of that it's genuinely not important in the grand scheme of things, life, health, and family is... The issue I take with Dave here it's simply, he has to get in Diggs about what he prefers, versus what he doesn't, at a time when he should be paying respect to someone that he's claimed to respect, that works in an industry he claims to both love, and respect, that's my issue here..... Simply because, it's completely unnecessary oh, and just plain disrespectful on his part, to bring any of that other stuff up. Some things in life, in fact most things, but especially these topics, they're bigger than rusting products, more important than, and I just wish, that Dave, and people like him, I wish they would understand that. That's my issue year, plain and simple. No more, no less. Cheers my friend
I thought the Wyatt Family was great, but never got while they pulled the plug. So many layers could have been there. Who's sister Abigail? The outpouring last nite on Smackdown would indicate he was very dear to a lot of people. RIP Windham. You seemed like a unique young man, tragically so soon gone 🙏
He will go down as one of the biggest what-ifs in wrestling. He may not have reached the heights many were hoping he would, but you can't deny he had a way of getting people's attention. He always knew how to get people talking. While it's sad he's gone, we should be happy that he at least got to have one last run, even if it was very brief. And he got to share his final moments in wrestling with his brother.
The pandemic era was on the shoulders of two guys mainly fiend bray wyatt and drew. They were the stars of this era but mainly the fiend because he got to do things which was not possible when audiences in attendance.
I could not believe the booking, treatment, and release when it happened. I was floored, that man did not get nearly enough credit, he not only carried the company through the pandemic, he brought ALOT of fans back to wrestling, ppl who tuned in for the first time in years because they were stuck in the house, kept coming back to see his gimmick and in the process became wrestling fans again.
Dave claims knowing Bray had a heart issue long ago. Yet all this time you both said he was out due to creative issues and buried him. Even covering his death you are full of it.
@@jihadx5307 that may have been the case initially, but he absolutely later on (a month or so ago) eluded fo it being a health issue that he wouldn't go into detail over
I could see his kids fulfilling the story of the Firefly Fun House characters & their real Uncle Bo being Uncle Howdy once again… hitting us in 20 years down the line. Mark my words. Being born to possibly the greatest mind in wrestling history creative wise. R.I.P. Windham
Why is Bryan leaning back on the couch, with his legs open toward Dave, and his crotch facing him??? Looks like Bryan is waiting for something. They look like a couple sitting like that. Really weird.
Thank you guys, like John ( Luke/Brody) and J- Briscoe ( followed the TRUE Roh and The Righteous - always wanted somehow Bray with Briscoe v Righteous.. ironically we almost had Bray w/ the Righteous- can't shake this feeling ( his Star 🌟. My fav & loss) the memorials are great... But the smackdown in-between I could not feel ( we need Time.. not a Year LoL or even months... But I truly like col I believe it's a taped, Wembley, Even Raw ( Raw for More memories I'm sure) But I have zero interest in anything. Surpised Dave and bryan are talking highly of bray since they were burying him for 2-years straight this is a welcoming change Bray Wyatt vs Daniel Bryan at Royal Rumble 2014 the shield Vs the Wyatt Family at Elimination Chamber 2014 were awesome match that segment with them standing on the apron the fans going crazy was amazing.
@@DivertingTalesgood point Bray's best matches were against Daniel Bryan at the 2014 Royal Rumble PPV and the 6-man tag match against the shield at Elimination Chamber 2014.
I'm not a big Bray fan but he was super talented but his death hit Me because he was so young and he has very young children They will be crushed I'm 41 so scared
Some of you are so detached from reality that it’s crazy. They called the guy a creative genius. They might not have liked everything he did, they never HATED Bray. They did their jobs as wrestling critics - and now they’re sad he’s gone. Like someone else mentioned, you can not like someone’s stuff and not want them to die.
@@giancarlocrumpsthat's crazy Bray's debut match at summerslam 2013 was great he should've won that match at wrestlemania 30 against Cena that could've been a memorable moment 9-years later undertaker vs Bray wyatt at wrestlemania 31 was great if only the match happened later and not when the sun was out and also Bray getting a live performance at wrestlemania 30 was awesome.
@@WheelzGaming88 What quick jab? Stop being irrational. Bray suffered from creative constantly crapping on his ideas, killing his pushes and giving him horrible outcomes for many of his matches. The problem, as Chris pointed out, was NOT Bray. It was creative screwing Bray over and over for a decade straight.
