I'm really caught off guard by his video and photos here.. Seemed like a genuinely warm guy.. Always smiling.. If i came across him at the streets and did not know who he was, i would have thought of him as a regular dude.. Not knowing this guy was only responsible for defeating the us based on what was available to him and his army..🤦

The Untold Story of Vietnam War Project 100,000. Robert McNamara created a program called Project 100,000. The program lowered the requirements to enlist for certain men and women, including those with mental or physical disabilities. But the program failed horribly as many recruits that took part were noted as being mentally-deficient to the point that some couldn't even tell-their left from their right. Many required a babysitter, another enlisted man to tend to them, tie their shoes, make their beds and clean their uniforms. Over 400,000 men were enlisted through the program with around 5,400 killed and 20,000 wounded in action. The program was nicknamed - McNamara's Folly, Misfits or Morons. In the movie FORREST GUMP: The question of how Gump can enlist into the Army with a 75IQ-and physical disabilities is answered with a real - life military plan set during the Vietnam War.

He called out 20 years ago what is happening in Afghanistan today with the US withdrawal and defeat. Incredible.

The USA was not really defeated tho, though they thought if they are armed and tried the afghan army just like they did with the Iraq army which resulted in defeating isis, they thought the same would happen with the Taliban in the end, the plan failed.

So that means they were defeated by the Taliban. The USA didn’t achieve the victory they set out to achieve

Few only know the genius of this man, him being branded as a "Red Napoleon" is apt or dare might I say insufficient considering he revolutionized warfare that goes beyond battle tactics and material logistics but also its geopolitical implications and how propaganda greatly affects the outcome of a war

As an Asian American, I was always angered and depressed over the casual raping and other war atrocities committed by my fellow countrymen in Vietnam, but still felt that the US' occupation had at least a bit of justification in saving South Vietnam from the ruthless, oppressive Communist regime of the North. But then you learn about the other side & learn of Vietnam's tragic history with foreign invasion and colonization. You learn about the role women played in every step of the way, from the Trung Sisters to Võ Thị Sáu to the Long Haired Warriors that fought on the frontlines against the Americans. Then you realize while the US was fighting a war against an economic ideal and a proxy war against the Soviets, the Vietnamese were simply fighting for liberty and independence, going to great lengths to protect their homes, families, and country from yet another ruthless, foreign invader. This time however, it's the world's largest, most "advanced" military in the world, who ends up showing no mercy on the under developed, already war-torn country; deploying nearly 3 million troops over the course of 2 decades, resorting to carpet bombings, chemical warfare, Anti-Asian propaganda, and even terrorizing and massacring innocent, unarmed civilians. Its at this point I'd grown to truly hate those responsible for what can be seen as America's Invasion of Vietnam, even somewhat hating myself for simply being American, knowing if I had lived back then and had been drafted, I'd be on the wrong side of justice... But then you arrive at General Vo Nguyen Giap, the man who led North Vietnam to victory against not just the Americans, but also against the French. You learn his back story, how he was nothing more than a history teacher with no official military training. You learn about how his wife had been captured and tortured to death by the French. You learn of his overall impact on the Vietnamese people and realize how this tiny man led a country of mostly small statured peasant farmers to finally achieve what millions had given their lives for during hundreds of years of oppressive foreign invasion and rule, Vietnam's freedom and independence. Never have I been moved, inspired, and motivated by an individual as I have with General Giap. His story and that of the Vietnamese people and their unrelenting will, will forever be a bright, enlightening spark for all humanity for years to come. Thank you, General Giap and to the Vietnamese people who courageously endured the horrors of human greed and arrogance firsthand, for never giving up in the fight for the greater good of your home and for justice. I infinitely salute you. God bless.
