He was definitely one of the greats. I always remember Sarah Silvermans interview at the end of Give it up for Greg Girlado talking about when she heard he passed saying, with incredulity, "WTF?". Someone so talented and charismatic but so full of demons that unfortunately he couldnt keep it together. Such a shame and waste.

My two favourite roast performances are Ben Bailey at the Patrice O'Neil roast, and Colin Quinn at the Artie Lange roast. Check them out if you haven't seen them.

The only reason Greg was remembered as a ROASTER was because he was the b est at it - but he was SUCH a well rounded comic - a comic's comic! SO well prepared - SUCH a good writer with SUCH a great skew that nearly every other comic envied but LOVED him as well. I truly hope when time goes by he's not ONLY gonna have his brilliant roasting highlights shown. MAN! He was SO much more. R.I.P.

Agree. And the video was produced by Comedy Central. They own the content so if they wanted to, they could've done one an hour long. My thinking is that the relationship betw. CC and Greg was acrimonious. He can rub people the wrong way (with the truth, right?).

Favorite singular roast of his was on Jerry Springer during the Hasselhoff Roast" "Jerry, you've worked with all sorts of famous men: You were (one of) Bobby Kennedy's campaign managers in the '68 election. You were also a fellow judge with Hasselhoff on 'America's Got Talent'. There seems to be a pattern with the men you work with; you like to work with men whose careers end on the floor of a hotel."

The joke towards Brian Posehn about being chased by townsfolk is probably one of the best. It would have been awesome to see Greg Giraldo and Natasha Leggero work together. As far as I'm concerned, he Is the King of Sting, and she is the Queen of Mean - imagine the sort of Roasts we would have gotten if he was still alive, and they actually teamed up.
