REMEMBERING SINEAD O'CONNOR: Mike & Ginger React to BELFAST CHILD by SIMPLE MINDS ft SINEAD O'CONNOR 

As an Irishman if i may explain, Sinead sings the original Irish song She Moved Through The Fair as its melody was used by Simple Minds for Belfast Child. Its always been a common occurence in Irish music to re use old melodies and apply new lyrics .

Nice one guys. In all honesty I didn't go looking for the _best_ Sinead tribute, this one just crossed my timeline and I really liked it. Sorry that the song didn't hit home for you, I guess when you're closer to the agony that Belfast went though during The Troubles it touches a nerve rather more. About 18 months ago, Sinnead's 17 yr old son, who was in a mental hospital on suicide watch, managed to get out somehow and took his own life. She was in a very deep, dark hole ever since, so there's an obvious conclusion that many have come to regarding her cause of death. As far as I know though, nothing's been officially confirmed yet.

The version of She Moves Through The Fair by Fairport Convention is worth a listen. It’s a different vibe but the singer has a lovely voice.

I love Belfast. I spent a month there after graduating college. It's where my grandfather was from. A lot of sad history. Van Morrison is known as Belfast's son. The incredible blues guitarist Gary Moore was from there too. RIP Sinead. You should check out a band called Dea Matrona out of Belfast. Really great.

I've trawled through your videos and can't find any from Enya, she has an otherworldly voice, very emotional and evocative. She's most known for her soundtrack from all of the lord of the rings movies. You may have heard of Clannad & she was the main vocalist with them, she now lives in a secluded castle in Ireland which really enhances and complements her beautiful nature. I urge you to react to a few of her videos or songs (not Caribbean Blue or Orinoco Flow as they're too commercial) please look and hear her more closely, that's how much I admire this beautiful lady with such a haunting, emotional & evocative voice. I look forward to your reply. I would understand if Ginger ends up crying to be totally honest. Keep up the great work

Troy really stands out for me as my favorite Sinead O'Connor song but the entire The Lion and the Cobra album is "brilliant" (to borrow an adjective from James Kerr in this) and is one of the best debut's of all time, IMO. I do agree with Mike on this one; loved the Sinead part and wanted more of her. But that's part of O'Connor's magic -- infusing whatever she is singing with incredibly visceral emotions. I really doubt that Nothing Compares 2 U could have been a smash hit by anybody but Sinead.

I'll admit I don't know Sinead's music that well, but from what little I have heard she did have a beautiful and intense voice. I agree with Mike, this song doesn't do much for me, but as soon as Sinead comes in it just pushes it to a whole new level. Wish she'd been in it more. A great song that speaks more to me and also features Sinead on vocals is "Tears From The Moon" by Conjure One, the solo project by Canadian musician/producer Rhys Fulber (also member of similarly sounding Delerium and EBM/industrial act Front Line Assembly). I’m afraid I don’t know much about Sinead O’Connor, of course I know “Nothing Compares to You” but apart from that, nothing. Also Simple Minds, heard of, apart from “Don’t You (Forget About Me”), could not name any other song by them, also. My musical education is a little bit lacking, right.
