The expulsion of Indians from Uganda by Idi Amin had a severe impact on the country's economy, with a decline in GDP by over 40% in the years following the expulsion. The loss of skilled workers and entrepreneurs led to a decline in production and economic output, and foreign investment also decreased due to political instability and uncertainty. The economic shock caused by their departure had a long-lasting impact on Uganda's economy.
A GDP that didnt benifit ugandians and all went to the conolialists , expelling them have helped uganda in future to unite and find national identiy away from it conolial past
@@docaz9453 The GDP went to Ugandans, the people were living in Uganda and were building up the economy. Colonialists were living in different countries. Uganda still has not developed since then, the GDP per capita of Uganda is among the lowest in the world, governments try to stay away from Uganda because of its lack of confidence in investment, and most of the population is uneducated. The expulsion has a net negative in the long run for the country. Stop blaming a minority if they are sucessful, learn from their trade, build relations with them, and start your own businesses, then everyone benefits. Stop blaming colonialism for all your problems.
No the coups that deposed the president are the reason why the economy didn’t recover. His successor of 40 years (who loves Indians) hasn’t don’t any better. He’s a puppet, that’s why!
If Asia is for Asia and Africa is for Africans, why are millions of Africans illegally migrating to Europe and millions of African Americans exist in Africa? People have been migrating for generations, and cultures have adapted and changed to them. If Europe or any other country doesnt allow africans to come, you cry Racism, but if people want to come into yoru country, you dont allow them because of their race.
Yeah yeah keep chatting nonsense how much money do u have to ur name right now and ur families? Now compare them to us east African Indians living in the UK, u are nowhere near our level. Keep praising idi amin while ur bank account goes lower and lower. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol. Your own African leaders don't respect Africans. Just look at all your dictators living in luxury while their subjects are in poverty! Not a single African country run by blacks is prospering. You people have too many tribal differences to run your own govts. This is why you're in a perpetual state of civil war.
That was not a mistake he was just racist same as Hitler. Same mindset because he thought he had a uniform on he thought he was powerful. Also that was just excuse for him to say Asian are milking it . When really the Asians was building the economy for Uganda to make it a better place and more jobs for people but for some reason he did not like it. Then when he kicked the Asians out of Uganda it collapsed the economy Fell badly
What do you know? Your descendants came from a place where anti-Black racism was rife and even several years after the berth of Islam in old India, the extreme dislike for dark-skinned people remained well entrenched and even till contemporary times, most Pakistanis, Indians, and Kashmiris still openly display open hostility towards Black people be it in the Indian Sub-Continent, Canada, the US,, the UK, Australia and even in Africa.
@John Alex, I think you do have a lot of personal issues. My comments were responding to the video above as it has to do with Idi Amin vs Asian-Ugandans. I don't understand why you have uprooted the Arab/European Enslavement of African history to a story that has little relevance to it.
@@syedmohammadaanasfarukh890 I am not saying Amin was a saint, or perhaps he brought economic prosperity to Uganda following the Asian expulsion. Absolutely not!!! The economy disintegrated yes!!! And the war Amin brought onto his people further damaged the precarious state of the Ugandan economy. However, stability has been restored in the last 32 years and the World Bank's outlook on the Ugandan economy and quality of life is looking bright. Regarding Desi people, a lot of them need to get rid of their uncontrollable dislike for Black people.
Really?, I literally have friends thats parents fled. The Africanisation policy sent shockwaves throughout all of east Africa particularly in Kenya and Tanzania. Look at the place now horrid no one wants to visit tourism has died. Kenya has some tourism but not Uganda or Tanzania.
That lady in Sheffield is not true on her views on what happened in Uganda during the expulsion of Asians from Uganda. I vividly remember that we never encountered any road blocks. Her book is not a reality but her imagination.
Looooll some of these people are delusional, just know us east African Indians are living real GOOD in England, whole family doing very well. Can u say the same?????
